Mumbai or MMR is being developed and funded by MMRDA unlike Delhi/NCR which relies on central funding. Other cities can follow the suit. Nobody is stopping them. MMR's development doesn't put a toll on state or center much, so all of you should be happy and supporting Mumbai's growth which is and will be India's most cosmopolitan and premier city..

This is such a visionary process. Similar initiatives are being taken all over Maharashtra to ramp up the infrastructure to ensure development of the state. Unfortunately people are more focused on getting freebies and do not consider these initiatives. It will be a sad day if the Devendra Fadnavis led alliance does not come back to power in Maharashtra.
