Hopefully they just implement persistent habs and garages withing the hangars eventually. The "poorer" option for most people would be to either sleep on their ship in a hanger, a bedroom in the hangar itself and then having your own hab in the city etc. Means that the city habs we spawn in can be owned, and filled with gear rather than just left immediately for the hangar ports.
I am not expecting 4.0 by the end of the year. It would be cool if it happened, but I more than willing to wait until the beginning of next year to get a more stable version of it and the dev's of CIG doesn't need to be dealing with angry players over the holidays. Just let them rest during Christmas and finish up after the break.
There really is no replacement for the testing numbers the PU gives CIG. That is why x.0 patches are ALWAYS buggy if not unplayable. If CIG has squashed major bugs and done all they can in the PTU phase, what else can they do but push it to LIVE?
Your point is exactly correct... For testing and adapting, the PU is the "heavy test bed". That is its purpose. But the *timing* is the issue. Don't drop a major patch *and then take a week off.*
7:41 That's the main thing. If the servers are more stable with the extra DG's per star system, then they should push out the content and patch the gaps as they can. I would normally say keep baking it, but we've waited an extremely long time for Pyro. Likely, there will be things that crop up that they didn't/couldn't identify in PTU anyway. So, we might as well put it through the wringer over the holidays so they can come back with a plan of attack in January.
They need to release to LIVE this week to collect data over break on what is breaking. Plus, knowing a wipe is coming will kill players drive to play over the break.
It does seem that when releasing to the PU that there are always (game breaking) bugs or unforeseen issue. I would be nice to get a release before the devs disappear for the holidays.
Boredgamer said he lied to me. he said I was welcome to speak my mind and was free to stay in the discord community after he said I was not welcomed in the star citizen community because of my digital percahse of the 890 jumps. It’s honestly a bit sad that the live builds are always worse than the ptu builds bc many people don’t even try out the ptu and therefore it’s never tested with the actual playercount
how come other companies are able to release stable, functional, non broken, non incomplete patches, but CiG has NEVER realeased one ever? And how come they need hundreds of players to be able to deliver a patch that is not broken due to their own incompetence? The majority of the player base don't play event and such because of the fact that they want to do the event and the people that take advantage of the player count there that just wanna pvp
The 890 jump is a scam. Once the game devs have your money they don't care. I was told that the star-citizen community does not care. I was banned over my digital purchase of the 890 jump
My EPTU experience was my game crashing three times when I got to the Pyro jump in Stanton, and then on the fourth, making it through the wormhole only to be greeted by a player sitting on the other side of the jump, blowing everyone up who came through the jump point. I will eventually get back in, but I may wait till after 4.0 has been fully released for probably 2 to 3 weeks.
The problem with faster respawn times from a quicker connection between medbed/hab and hanger is that it can affect pvp gameplay - you lose a little of the consequences of death. It seems to me that the trade off is worth it in this case, but players asking for "convenience" sometimes end up attacking the meaning and the risk reward in a game
From playing last night, I had to create or add to nine separate bugs just from one play session. We are not ready for live, they definitely need to cook more. This includes one bug that completely blanked my screen, froze my controls and locked my character out for a half hour because I had the audacity to try to set foot on my docked Polaris.
As much as I enjoy PvP (more so in other games), I can't stand the murder hobos in SC. And they usually suck at actual PvP! Reputation and other consequences need to be in the game ASAP!! Personally, I haven't encountered those types a ton of times, but others seem to be way unluckier than me.

I love logging into the hangar. There are moments where chosing video game magic over realism just improves the experience and this is one of them for me. The only thing to make it even better would be letting us decide between the hangar and the hotel during log in
What I hope most about 4.0 is that it will be published later on the live server, so that they can begin to take a look at the rework of ships like the 600I and the MSR, gameplays like data runner and other things that are missing
Spawning in hangar is very nice, although it sounds like a quick fix for bad transit system. I didn't expect 4.0 by the end of the year mainly because of their vacation. If it is released just for the claim of making it in time and it will be like 3.18 the shitstorm is going to be massive and well deserved.
The only bugs I've really seen on the PTU have been minor. My biggest gripes have been randomly exploding near stations in Pyro, frame drops near the jump points, and one amusing bug where a party member's marker was showing him in Stanton when he was actually in Pyro. Other than that the servers have been buttery smooth and I'm actually looking forward to seeing it hit live.
Well the thing about the hospital elevator in hangars is to work as an emergency way to get there, when you leave the hospital, you're no longer in an emergency so you walk back to the hangar, nothing wrong with that
There need to be relative safe locations in Pyro as well, I don't want to die while in the shopping menu. Faction reputation system could help fix this.
also i think for the pvp aspect they should implement a risk reward system. LIke others can take the same quests as you and compete. It should only be for specific quests that are labeled high risk or basically other players can intercept your quest or even be on opposing sides of the quest giver. for instance a destroy contraband mission can have 3 sides. The good guys burning the contraband, The neutral side stealing it, and finally the bad guy side of protecting it. I think it would be great to have a pvpve aspect in missions but ofc not in all of the missions. It can easily be a sort of higher level side of the game once players are more comfortable playing and willing to risk it all for better money and loot.
If you log in directly to your personal hangar, do you just appear in the hangar standing? Or is there now a mini hab bed in there or something?

I imagine Nyx will be less pvp heavy than pyro. It's outside UEE control but the People's Alliance is going to have some local law at least in proximity to Delamar
I played for 2 weeks on eptu, to be honest the last week there weren’t any real bugs but de-sync bugs, related to server catching up and t posing in between. Same with elevators, flying, out of the hangar and much more. I played from Scandinavia on US servers and never went below 130ms so take that times two, to send and receive from server. I hope there’s a propability that when they get eu servers and others they won’t have to deal with delay from overseas players and that will fix all the issues in ptu. Crossing my fingers that its that easy
To all the people who complain about broken updates, go play on the test server as much as possible. Getting more testers on there will help identify and fix more issues before an update goes live.
I hope they can get it to live this week. I'm sure there will be issues but as long as everyone can log in and the jump tunnels work I'm sure people will live until the new year to fix whatever bugs show up
I think they'll push 4.0 out, and then fix. I feel that hangar spawn, was a workaround for the broken lifts and trams, for when it goes live. However, the hangar spawn not being optional is a pain, as now I need to exit my hangar, and go back to the shops, then back to the hangar again.
I played on the PTU this weekend. It was very laggy. Mostly at the jump gate, Checkmate, and other high traffic areas. First time seeing Pyro in game. It was STUNNING!!! They really did a wonderful job with design.
Glad to hear you guys are feeling better now. Yay! I had some decent response times when I playing in the 4.0 EPTU over the weekend. CIG is making great progress for sure. I do think CIG will push hard to get 4.0 to Live by the end of year one way or another. While this might not be agreeable to some, I don’t think it’s a bad idea. We shall wait and see how it goes. Thank you for all the coverage! I really appreciate you guys! Take care!
I think they’ll push it out to live if they think the servers will survive until the end of January without melting down. From what I can tell they’ve worked through the major blockers. I haven’t fallen through the hangar floor after spawning a ship recently, I’m not crashing to desktop when I get near the jump point, the weird graphical glitches are gone and my inventory seems to be accessible everywhere now.
I’ve played every build of 4.0 since wave one started and had mixed results. This latest build however I have had zero issues with for all regards of gameplay and it has been a tremendously smooth experience with better FPS and interaction response times than any other time I have played star citizen
I like the p72 paints but likely wont use it because a few years back I picked up the P72 Emerald and freakin love the paint on it. Hope everyone is doing well, with love from the void.
What they should have done with the HoverQuad handlebar fiasco was spin it. "If you have this gift unlocked, you get a free HoverQuad rental for the rest of Luminalia!" Or make it a coupon for like, 10% off a HoverQuad.
I agree, have a 4.0 in PTU until the new year is a smart idea. So many people will want to join when 4.0 comes out and if it is horrible, it will be such bad press for CIG.
It would be nice to get 4.0 for Christmas but I would be okay waiting a few weeks longer for a more stable build. And spawning directly into my hanger is going to be amazing, I already have limited game time weekly and that’s gonna get me into the verse so much faster. 🎉
I get that they want to funnel players toward the Contested zones. I think its a mistake however to make these locations the only source of many components and fully outfitted ships. The result will be some players will just not be interested and other will not play at all. Those that do partake will more likely grow bored of them once the novelty wears off and more likely just haunt locations to troll others. Once you obtain the components there seems little reason to return (insurance fraud being the easy way to obtain more). If people are unwilling to engage others in the contested zone they are even less likely to trade with those same people.
I've been waiting for a wipe/4.0 to hop back in with my friends, but imo realistically it's gonna be curled out late february after a few updates in the PTU
So with personal hangar, how does one get one? I had my pledge in 2014 and updated it twice now, did I loose my hangar? Do I need another pledge package?
I absolutely love the two ship skins the give for this event. They game the same (for different ships) last year and I almost always use them if available. I've had many people asking me what skins it is too, so it's not just me I suppose. Today it was actually for the 400i, which isn't insignificant. I really hope they will drop them for the carrack. It needs some love! As for Zinya's (did I spell that correctly) problems on the website calendar. I had the same issue the first or second day. It did register though. Next day it said I had already opened it. I think it's just the website having some hickups
400i skins were today luminalia. It’s always for ships I don’t have but never mind. Still hoping for 4.0 asap, they seem to be fixing things quite quick
The 4.0 put is playable, but there are some pretty big bugs. Hopefully they can get rid of some of them before pushing it to live.

I gave proof of mistreatment over the advertising of the 890 jump. I also gave proof that the 890 Jump is NOT the ship advertised. I cited government laws and no advertising.
I’ve been checking out certain areas. Some of the POIs in Stanton that have NPCs…..ya there are walking around and interacting with the things and having dialogue. They’re not standing on chairs. They’re not all spawned into each other and frozen. NPCs are acting…as intended. Send it to live this shit is working.
I do think it's a little funny to see people say 4.0 isn't ready, but it's also better than live lol. Does seem like they've made a lot of progress since doubling down on this though. Though now that I think about it, instancing contested zones would make sense, so that you could possibly run several copies of the same zone on a shard while having the benefit of being on dedicated servers, still have pvp, but also not always having the same folks coming back after they've respawned since they might end up in another instance. Who knows what they will do, but it could be useful there.

I had one person in the Boredgamer community put words in my mouth and say things I have never written or ever said.
Thanks for the update! I need more time to finish the save Stanton missions, so I hope they wait as long as possible before release of 4.0. Regarding PVP, I hope there will be built-in ways to avoid it completely.
My big fear is that future events are gonna have at least one part that forces players into pvp zones. Because CIG doesn't seem to be content to not 'encourage' people to engage in pvp who don't want to.
I think the contested zones would be better if players wouldn’t suddenly appear in front of you. Though I am happy with them continuously fixing stuff.
I hope that they don't explicitly make contested zones for specific party sizes. I love the idea of there being dangerous places with the pvpve loop in it at different scales, but I think it's important that the people who want that "shangri-la frontier" experience of soloing "above their weight class" against other players can find it, so I don't there to be any actual restrictions to participating.
The problem they have is: 1) Keep current live and 4.0 in ptu so peeps have the choice of a kinda stable version over the Christmas break, but any gains will be wiped afterwards 2) release 4.0 to live, and risk things being completely broken and unplayable over Christmas, also losing potential new players over the Christmas break while many of their staff are away.
We don't know if this will be going live, they only did it because everyone was getting stuck in elevators and the transit systems in hurston wasn't working.
Wonder when they'll adjust rewards after 4.0 comes out. Not sure gating all the best stuff behind one type of content in one system. Maybe the upcoming mission refactor might be quite interesting.
Considering how 2024 went update and bug fixing wise, I really don't think they should force out 4.0 before it's ready. Even more so with how long it took them to get going at the start of the year
I finally made it to Pyro last night for the first time and it performed way worse than Stanton was performing just minutes prior. Even during the freefly last month, I can run New Babbage at 30+ fps at 4K but my first time in Pyro was running at 5 fps at 1080p.
It's a development branch.... it needs lots of work still... poor fps is expected. Also, there's no point mentioning it here... take a look at the IC posts and contribute to helping getting it fixed
@@Falenir "No point mentioning it here?" I was following BoredGamers request to discuss our experience with 4.0 in his video. I took a look at the IC posts and contributed to the bug reports.
I actually totally disagree that more players makes the world feel more alive. I think more NPCs with better AI make the world feel alive. More players makes it feel like a video game. Players generally dont interact with game environments in realistic ways. How many times have you actually seen someone sprinting through a mall to buy stuff? Or crawling on the train? Or jumping every 2 seconds down the street? Or walking into a wall? Other than in NYC, that doesn't count.

The executive hangar rewards have me VERY interested. Can’t wait to check them out!
Doing Raids for an upgraded ship at the end would be sick. lets you fly away from the facility or something
My hope is that the guardian is more maneuverable than a typical heavy. If thats the case, it will be a quick buy for me.
That hangar spawn update is huge…maybe I’ll actually use my home hangar now
I absolutely love the two ship skins the give for this event.
Well playing alpha can be frustrating sometimes but the 4.0 adding new star system is really cool
hope 4.0 can go live before the end of the year, and manage to fix most of the the bugs
Glad to here a comparesion to EvE. been an EvE player for 11 years. But have slacked off a lot this year to play SC. Can't wait for 4.0 live
I can’t wait to spawn in hangers, such a good QOL improvement. Will save me so much time
Spawning in home hangers is the best thing ever I’m really loving star citizen
But Timmy, you can roast those spiders and have them with Habanero sauce. Or sell them at Ruin station orbiting Pyro VI
Who gets the final rewards in the contested zones? If 40 players in a party steamroll the zone, do they each get a Corsair at the end?
I’ve been checking out certain areas. Some of the POIs in Stanton that have NPCs…..ya there are walking around and interacting with the things and having dialogue. They’re not standing on chairs. They’re not all spawned into each other and frozen. NPCs are acting…as intended. Send it to live this shit is working.
Being able to have large group flights I think will be awesome. Multiple multi-crew ships on both sides with fighter escorts.
spawning in my hangar is such a great QOL
Happy holidays to everyone and that you for your videos BG
I do think it's a little funny to see people say 4.0 isn't ready, but it's also better than live lol. Does seem like they've made a lot of progress since doubling down on this though.
Though now that I think about it, instancing contested zones would make sense, so that you could possibly run several copies of the same zone on a shard while having the benefit of being on dedicated servers, still have pvp, but also not always having the same folks coming back after they've respawned since they might end up in another instance. Who knows what they will do, but it could be useful there.
I had one person in the Boredgamer community put words in my mouth and say things I have never written or ever said.
I think CIG preferes a release this week (and a Mirai Guardian Sale).
On twitch and discord, victims are banned for star citizen scams.
Can’t wait to start the grind after the wipe
Fingies crossed for 4.0... if it's playable enough. 🤞😬 Happy holidays, guys! 🎅🎄👽
Yutchclub had to go talk with Inforunners and tell them the 890 Jump is an exploration ship.
Wish the devs all the best to get the bugs nailed down for a smooth and stable 4.0 launch
Hi Zinya! Welcome back!
I love your channel. Thank you for your hard work.
Everyone expects 4.0 to be broken in the beginning. It remains the question how broken it will be
Getting rid of "public transit simulator" every time you login is 🔥
The problem they have is:
1) Keep current live and 4.0 in ptu so peeps have the choice of a kinda stable version over the Christmas break, but any gains will be wiped afterwards
2) release 4.0 to live, and risk things being completely broken and unplayable over Christmas, also losing potential new players over the Christmas break while many of their staff are away.
It doesn't feel like this is an issue of seeing how many people they can have in a shard and it be stable, but I have little to go on.
I just had a thought, if for some magical reason they manage to get it all fixed I think CIG may be waiting to give it to us as a Christmas present.
Spawning in hangars sounds interesting
oh goodness...spawning in your 'home' hangar.... *chef's kiss* FINALLY!
We don't know if this will be going live, they only did it because everyone was getting stuck in elevators and the transit systems in hurston wasn't working.
@Falenir ah....well hopefully it sticks until we get bed logging back
I hate Hangars not spawning hopefully they can fix that soon. Also very Intrested if Server meshing is gonna work
Really looking forward to this hangar spawning... and backpack change also. Will making looting smoother.
That p52 and 72 paint made me unexpectedly happy. My green Andro now no longer have a blaring white but that is the snub.
