Great review. My first Nebbiolo was a 2016 Marchesi di Barolo Barbaresco and it left a great impression which has lead me to drink a lot of Barolo and Barbaresco ever since. Hopefully I get to also try this one some day.
Henri: thanks for the continued support. I thought it was important for me to start drinking top shelf and older Barolo. I think it just round out my understanding of the region. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing and reviewing this wine! I'm also a big fan of Mascarello and picked up a couple of these 2010s on release even though Galloni gave an unfavorable review (89pts). I have cracked any yes, so glad to hear they are coming around nicely. As you head deeper into Barolo, I highly recommend sourcing some older G. Mascarello and would love to see you review and share your thoughts; their 50s/60s are still drinking incredible and to my knowledge, RareWineCo still gets them directly from the Cantina. If you can get your hands on a 58' Riserva or 89' Monprivato, those are benchmarks for each of thes wines. Cheers 🍷
John: thank you for viewing my video and the information. Yes, I think it is important for me this year to drink top shelf and older vintages of Barolo. Hard to find old Barolo in good shape so you are lucky if you have some. I will look out for the 58 and 59 vintage. Cheers!
Luca: yes, if you can get your hands on a G. Mascarello with some age and you have the means, you should really try it. It will change your gold standard of Barolo. Cheers!
@@TrophyWineHunter I'll look into it asap. For now my gold standard is the Voerzio Rocche dell'Annunziata. I hope to dethrone it for my own enjoyment :D Cheers Tony !
I adore this wine. I think Neb is an inherently more complex and interesting grape than Pinot Noir - this is not the same as saying 'better', as that is ultimately about what one likes most. Controversially, perhaps, I also generally prefer Barolo from a Riedel Bordeaux glass, which to me delivers a better balance in the mouth. Good video - thank you.
Great and insightful content as usual! Just pick up some 2019 vintage after watching your video. Can’t wait to try it in 10years.
tienyuchung: good buy! It will be incredible. Cheers!
Wow! What a great tasting! Cheers 🍷

Great video! I've had this wine once (a 2012 last year), and you're right that it is incredible. Now you've got to try the other Mascarello- Bartolo!
I have it! Hope to review sometime this year

Well now i'm curious about tasting it because I love the Barolo style and aromatics ! What a tasting ! The emotions were tangible

sinclair: thank you for your comment. Interesting about using a Bordeaux glass for Barolo. Please like, subscribe and keep watching. Cheers!
