    Elle is so beautiful and a great student! You can tell she is very eager to learn but has plenty of inate tasting talent. Also, in most parts of southern Italy, we say “a salut’” or “cent anni” (pronounced “chent-ann” in napolitan/Barese)

    I can listen to Peter for hours and hours, so informative & logical in his delivery with a side of humor 😜 ~ questions:: where is the “tar” coming from? soil & terroir? age? aging technique/barrel ? does “tar “increase or decrease with age? Thx

    Great to see you back online. While I have a good knowledge of French, US and So African wines, i tend to stay away from Italian wines as I have limited knowledge of their wines and the few that I have tried, always seem to have a muscadel flavour to them ( which I do not like ). Nice to get some basic insight - will give them a try.

    저는 블라인드 할때 색깔이 옅고 살짝 갈색빛이 돌면 피노올빈이나 네비올로 둘중에 하나일거라 생각하고 마셔보고 결정하는데 마을단위까지는 못맞추겠어요 ㅎㅎ

    Ossobuco is made with calf, not with lamb. I am pretty sure about this cause I ate it many times in Italy and do have a recipe from my italian sister-in-law....................

    Are you located in socal ? Have you heard about Hi Time Wine cellars ?
    Osso bucco us usually made out of veal shank.
    In my opinion, most high quality Barolos should not be enjoyed before at least 10/15 years.

    사실 이런 영상들을 보면서 느낀거는 왜 서양쪽 마스터 레벨 되는 사람들이 동양 학생들을 좋아하는지 알거 같음. 옷도 항시 정갈하게 입고 자기가 얘기하는거를 집중해서 경청함. 꼭 억지로 예의때문에 사람이 억눌릴거는 없지만 예의(manner)라는거는 선조들이 세대를 거치면서 다른 사람의 마음을 사로잡는 방법의 총합인거 같음. 이유없이 몸에 예의를 박는거는 고문일테지만, 다른 사람의 마음을 사로 잡으려고 신경써서 행동하다 보면 이미 예라고 불리거나 Manner라고 불리는 행동들을 따라가고 있다는 종종 발견하게 되어서 이유를 가르치면서 예를 가르치는게 중요한게 아닐까라는 생각이 드네요.

    I’ve just been to Barolo the last 2 days and tasted different wines from the region. Sadly, two Barolos had quite and oxidative character, is that normal for a 2017 Barolo? The other Barolos were 2020, and tasted good

    Serralunga became a cru now? Imo any discussion of Barolo with out a serious discussion of geography (or at least communes) and Winemaking is missing the point.

      I think he confused himself, Serralunga is one of the villages allowed to produce Barolo but not a cru.

    Why european wine drinker looks like homeless (you can see wine meet or wine competition jury),
    Asian wine drinker looks like businessperson,
    i believe in europe (where wine become tradition), wine not that glamour or luxurious,
    in asia, wine become symbol of luxury and glamour, lol 😁
    in georgia, wine sell for 7 eur and taste good, its same level like everyday drink, like coffee and tea

    바롤로... 제게 너무 고마운 와인이자 현재까지 가장 좋아하는 와인입니다. 비싸서 자주 못 먹지만요. 사실 30대 초반까지 와인을 마셔봐도 왜 비싼 와인인지 뭐가 다른건지 전혀 모르던 시절이 있었습니다. 그러다가 인근지역에 코스트코가 새로 오픈하면서 기솔피 와이너리의 바롤로를 행사 중이였는데 직원이 저를 붙잡고 애원하다시피 영업을 너무 열심히 해서 결국 못이기고 1병을 샀습니다. 시음도 나름 나쁘지 않다고 생각해서요. 그래서 귀가 후 와인잔에 따라 마셔본 후 순간 깜짝 놀랄 정도로 와인이 이렇게 맛있는 거였나?하며 새롭게 눈을 뜨기 시작했습니다. 아주 고급인 바롤로는 아니였지만 그 후로 여러나라의 여러 종류 와인들을 접하며 와인을 즐기는 포인트를 잡게 되었고 지금은 이태리, 독일, 그리스, 조지아, 칠레, 뉴질랜드의 와인을 주로 즐기고 있지만 현재까지도 제게 최고의 와인은 바롤로입니다. 제 와인 셀러에서 가장 아끼는 와인도 로베르토 보에르지오의 체레퀴오와 브루나테 2016입니다. 이외에 피오체사레의 모스코니와 오르나토 2016, 마르케시 디 바롤로 칸누비와 사마사 2016이 현재까지 숙성 중입니다.
