Amazing video . Thanks for clarifying about Biodynamic
A great podcast and extremely enoyable and lively!
Looking forward to the next!
Thank You! 🙏🏻 The next one is already out, interview with Andrew Jefford. In my opinion a very interesting conversation, that I certainly learned a lot from. 🍾 Cheers!
Excellent video and deep dive into biodynamics, organics, permaculture and lots of other topics. I think this video clearly explains the nuances and difference between all of these. It's amazing to see how a whole place can change so dramatically not only in the vineyard, but the surrounding environment. If more winemakers did only half of what Enrico Rivetto did it would make a huge difference in the quality of wine and counteracting the negative effects of climate change.
On sulfites it was particularly interesting to see Rivetto explain that it's not just sulfites that make people ill, but rather the composite of what they eat and drink every day. Some wineries do have too much sulfites in their wines do. We had a Blanc de Noir Gran Reserva Cava that made both me and my wife uncomfortable and we drank a Blaufrankish/Kekfrankos Reserve from a famous Hungarian winery that kept us both us till 5 or 6 in the morning. So like Enrico Rivetto said, it's all about balance
Yes, indeed. And I learn this more and more every day. It is all about the balance. I think we should talk more about it, as so many people argue that “some is good, therefore more must be better” which we all know, is not true! 😅
Thanks so much for sharing your chat. So interesting and I loved the honest and open conversation. Please do more of these. Your enthusiasm and energy is infectious and entertaining!
Thank You very much for this lovely comment and Your support. I woke up with message and it will make my day! 🙏🏻
An insightful conversation on the philosophy of this winery and on wine-making in a broader sense.
Thank You for Your comments. 🍷
You just made the TH-cam's best wine oriented channel... even better. You provide great insight and knowledge for the world of wine, thanks!
OMG, You just made my day! 🙏🏻 Thank You’ ✨🥂
@@NoSediment Thanks but no, I think you just made my day
Excellent podcast. I love Piemonte, and it’s great to see a biodynamic Barolo on the market. This winemaker’s passion is inspiring.
I agree. I really liked how he talked about the financial aspect being a source of energy. Great way of looking at the things in life! 🍷
Such a dynamic conversation. It leaves you with the certainty of a constant change ,not only in the field of the vine but in the universe. The simple scene of people interacting drinking wine is the emblem of life. Possibilities of everything.
Thank You! 🙏🏻 I was really hoping it would be dynamic and interesting to watch! 🍷
Nice beginning podcast. Informative and interesting.
Great, happy You enjoyed it! 🙌
Great choice of the first guess, so much passion and much to say that is little known! This format's sure to go big places!
Thank You! Enrico is really charismatic and knows how to inspire! ✨
@@NoSediment Not only him!!!!!
Great podcast. And very informative. Kkep it up.
Thank You! 🙏🏻
Fantastic format! Very interesting winery, will for sure try to get hold of some of his wines.
Thank You! Yes, I have known Enrico for around 10 years, and I always come back. Great wines and great people! ✨
There's a neat idea- the results are a consequence of your actions.
Wow! I was really excited about the podcast and it's even better than what I was hoping for! Top quality production from the very first episode, interesting guest and well prepared host.
Thank You, Thank You! 🙏🏻 It is so nice to read the comments. I was really worried. And I am happy You enjoyed it. ✨
Oh nice!! What a cool, interesting guest...I really love his philosophy. Couldn't agree more with his attitude towards the cultural shift if more of us start asking those questions about what we put in our bodies! 👍
I've already started looking for producers like this and will definitely have to try his Barolo.
Good luck with the podcast...this was the first episode and already amazing!
Thank You, I am very happy You liked it. ✨ I’ve known him for a very long time, and when I started to play with an idea of a podcast, he just naturally came to my mind as the very first guest. And it seems to me that people enjoyed it. 🥂Cheers!
I love this guys passion for what he does. I would spend a little more money on a wine he made just because of that passion. Great interview.
Wow, that is so nice to read. Yes, Enrico is great, and I am happy that I know him and have been able to enjoy his wines! 🍷
Super interesting and great format. Thank you!! More please!
I have another one planned for the August already, I hope You will enjoy it as well! Not a winemaker though. 🥂
@@NoSediment I’ll look forward to it. Wine makers are always welcome but wine is more than just the vintners…. Keep it coming. Oh I’d love a PIWI cast too…. Cheers

✨🍾
Very good podcast, thank you 🙏🏻
Thank You! 🙏🏻 I am very pleased You enjoyed it. ✨
It shouldn't matter what the regular wine consumer understands. Put the information out, and wine consumers will learn and change.
But I think it is an issue, because some people might translate certain information the wrong way. For example, wines don’t have expiration dates on their bottles. And when Champagne houses (wanted to be more transparent) started to put a disgorgement date on the label people mistakenly took it as an expiration date. That was a loss for those Champagne brands, because naturally all the wines were “expired” when they reached the market. 😢😢😢
Cool. new series. :)
Exactly! 🙌
i visited the region at the and of May, and i tried ti come and meet Rivetto but they were busy... It was a petty but i am glad to Watch this pod cast with Mr Rivetto and beatifull Agnes 😁
That is so sad to hear. 😢 I have also been in a situations where I cannot visit wineries that I have planned, for various reasons. 😖 I really hope the next time You will get the opportunity to at least walk through the vineyards, and experience the view, and taste wine! 🍷
@@NoSediment dear Agnes thks x yr replay. brevi am leaving tomorrow and i LL visit Valtellina which Is a wine making region. with same grapes nebbiolo but griwn at higher altitudes in the Mountains. i Guess i Will enjoy very much... sincerely Luca
Agnes, Just managed ti take a walk among nebbiolo grapes 8n Valtellina... awesome 😁🍾
I can't find this on any podcast networks. Coming soon?
It should be available on Spotify, Apple and Google! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Look for No Sediment. 😉
So I was enjoying the interview and the donkeys and everything and I checked out Rivetto on our Norwegian state wine monopoly site, and the first thing my eyes land on is "Rivetto Barolo Etter Vinteren". "Etter Vinteren" Means "After the Winter" in Norwegian. I'm so confused! Why does a Rivetto wine have a Norwegian label name?! oO
Edit: After some considerable digging, I found a little more information. Apparently, the label is artwork by a Norwegian artist and it's somehow tied to an "art wine of the year" award and a foundation. The foundation didn't tell me a whole lot more, nor did I find the bottle on any of the typical wine search sites that I use. Maybe there's a connection between the foundation, eco ideology and the Rivetto, I have no idea. It's "only" about 45 EUR so I think I'll have to buy it out of curiosity.
I actually don’t know. That is something I should ask Enrico him, let me come back to You. ✨
In wine monopoly site you should find also my regular Barolo Rivetto Serralunga. The "etter Vinteren" is one of the wines which belong to a project managed from a group of entrepreneurs from Bodo and other cities to help young artists from the North. Every year they put a label on the bottles created by an artist. We were suppling some Barolo for that project for 5 years.
@@NoSediment Well thank you for that. What an odd and wonderful coincidence this turned out to be. I even have strong family ties to the very place Rivetto refers to in that very gracious response. It never ceases to amaze me how small the world can be (online).
Also, I can't believe you did that. You're kind of nuts, in the best way possible :D
I'm definitely getting that wine, especially now that I have this cool story to go with it! Thanks again. I do believe this is you rocking.
PS speaking of rock and the underrated Who: I claim that Daltrey's second scream on "Won't get fooled again" is the best scream in classic rock history.
Wow what a interesting guy. This is the real green deal.. Not those bought and paid green lobbyists in Brussels.. Refreshing. I will buy more wine from this man.
I am happy to hear that and will allow myself to share this comment with him! 🍷 I am sure it will give him the positive vibe we all need in life! ✨
@@NoSediment please do and congrats on the new format. Liked it a lot. Hope you find more interesting people.
Grazie :)
@@rivetto small question: do you use a lot of copper in the vineyard?
because we decided to be certified biodynamic we have to stay below 3Kg/ha , consider organic protocol is below is 5@@Petazzi1
I listened up to the cosmos connection nonsense and I just couldn't listen anymore, sorry.
I am sorry to hear that. There is a lot of that stuff based in the science, especially the part of the no tilling and cover crop. Where he explained about the water. 🌱
@@NoSediment I'm sorry to brake the magic to you but there is no half way in science. If it's based in science it needs to be all of it, not just parts. We had a furious (and pretty ridiculous) fight in parlament in Italy a couple of years ago about this nonsense. We had to defend ourselfs against this magical crazy people because one of them was able to pass a law in parlament. That's why I can't stand these people anymore. I will listen the next podcast.
