Hey Travis, I have a few questions. I just bought an 80’ Puch Maxi and need to get the engine running. It has compression, a new carb coming in soon, and no spark. The thing is that mine is different from others, I have no coil on the frame, nor do I have four wires running out of the stator area. I only have two thin ones and the spark plug wire. I’m convinced I have a European import as I read that the later models had the coil built into the stator area. Spark is intermittent and I don’t see any sparks on the points. Thanks
Internal coil could totally be a thing, there were many many iterations of Puch ignitions: myronsmopeds.com/category/ignition/bosch/ You can look inside for the black coil. I'm wondering though if maybe you were supposed to have an external coil and it got removed?
@@TravisTutorial Thanks for the response 😅 Fortunately lots has happened in the past three months and the bike is now running and riding really nice. Turns out it was probably just a treats 2 wire stator and after I cleaned the points we were all good.
Hey Travis, really great to have you back working on an A35. Looking forward to the rest - Regards from Wales!
More to come! Thank you!
I picked up a cotter pin press from treats a while back - totally worth it.
Also, with an impact I find that I can just hold the rotating part (clutch bell, flywheel, etc) in my hand; no need for a piston stop or strap wrench.
Battery powered impact is a game changer! I try and show the most basic tools in the videos but use my impact a bunch
@@TravisTutorial for sure :) I was blown away how easy an impact makes things the first time I used it.
Tomos video nice
I have a 78 cosmo blazer. I think the starter clutch is messed up. Can I replace that with something different.
Wait a minute - I can't watch this on the MacBook. I need to see this on the big screen!
I just found your channel, I'm trying to find a paint code for my 1979 puch. Inka gold. Any help would be great.
