3D Printed RC JET Boat with JET Drive - Assembly

  • My 3d printed RC Jet Boat with a 3D printed Jet Propulsion or also called jet drive. All parts are designed and constructed by my self. The goal was, to design a small and very compact rc controlled jet boat, where all parts could be build with a 3d printer.

    Instead of a propeller behind the boat, the jet system works just like a jet ski, by a propeller integrated inside the boat moving the water in and out pushing it forward. Not only the hull of the boat is 3D printed, but the propeller, motor mount, servo holder, battery tray and even the servo coupler! The brushless motor was from a RC drone and with a 2 cell 18650 LiPo it was too powerful.
    The hull of the boat is also constructed and printed by my self. The impulse jet, which I got printed mostly in pla, is allready tested a lot and runs really awesome. On a other version of the boat I am running the same jet but with all parts printed in ABS. Even the printed ABS or PLA propeller holds up to the brushless outrunner on 2S just fine! The Jet has an integrated watercooling system for the motor, but I have not tested yet if it really needs to be watercooled as the motor that I use has way more torque than the little 20mm jet needs. I hope you will enjoy the video!

    Absolutely superb, beautiful design, well engineered construction with the quality in all the right places and a perfect compact internal set up. Have you ever thought of marketing them as a complete kit? I am sure there would be enough of a demand for them to make it profitable. A set of printed instructions and a link to this video would make for a comprehensive kit.

    If you cut the ends of that sealing chord at a relatively high angle, say 60 degrees or more. and make it so it fits with just a TINIEST BIT of compression, with the angle in the horizontal plane, the top will squish the ends together to form a watertight seal. The other option is to glue the ends with a glue that dries as pliable as the gasket material, or make it such that a standard sized o-ring will fit (you can get then to pretty long lengths still at small longitudinal diameters). Right now it is pouring in my front yard and practically dry in the back...weird. If you designed that boat yourself, very nice, well thought out.

    Grüße, das Boot ist komplett gedruckt und zusammengebaut und das Ergebnis ist extrem gut geworden. Der Betrieb mit 2 3000 mAh Akkus ist mir etwas zu schwer ist der Rumpf ohne 18650 Halterung für normale lipos gedacht? Mfg

      @jtronicsTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Du kannst das boot statt mit 18650 auch mit den kleineren 18350 lipo akkus betreiben. Aber du kannst aich ganz andere akkus verwenden, daher gibt es auch die STL "without batterymount".
      Hier hat das schon jemand mit 2S 430mah lipos gemacht...

      Just set it up as a standard RC plane.
      Then when it comes to testing, you can use the output tab to limit the throw of the servo, so it's not straining.
      Also remember to calibrate your ESC.

    Hallo ,wäre diese Boot geeignet um kleine Bachläufe gegen den Strom zu befahren (genug speed im Jet) ? Außerdem hab ich fest gestellt das bei meinem der Bug immer in die Strömungswellen eintaucht und das Heck zu tief liegt und schon bei 5cm Wassertiefe auf dem Grund aufsetzt. (Horizon Jet Jam) Könnte man bei ihrem Boot ein Gitter über dem Wassereintritt anbringen um zu verhindern das es kleine Steinchen ansaugt? Reicht dann noch die Wassermenge für einen kräftigen Jet Strahl ? Vielen Dank für ihre Zeit.

    Ich habe vor einem Jahr oder so mal das ursprüngliche Boot anfangen wollen zu bauen.
    Nachdem ich auf Facebook gesehen habe, dass du ein neues Boot (mit 2 Motoren) released hast, wollte ich das bauen - hab dann aber festgestellt: Moment mal, ich hab ja schon mal so ein Boot gekauft. Ich bin derzeit auf der Suche nach passenden Motoren. Hast du noch ein paar Alternativen zu dem DYS BE1806? Der ist ausverkauft und ich konnte von der Bauart her irgendwie nichts ähnliches finden :(

    • @jtronicsTV
      @jtronicsTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Das freut mich, dass du so ein Boot bauen möchtest. Die Motoren vom Typ 1806 sind immernoch erhältlich, habe grad erst wieder 4 Stück bekommen. Die Links zu den Motoren findest du auf der Projektseite. Diese werden regelmäßig von mir überprüft.
      Weiterhin gibt es ein video zum Umbau von alternativen Motoren (Links zu den motoren sind auch auf der Projektseite). Siehe hier...
      th-cam.com/video/I0NPDRMggUE/w-d-xo.html
      Seit kurzem kannst du auch mit Hilfe eines Adapters DC Brushed Motoren vom Typ 180 verbauen. Siehe Updates auf der Projektseite
      cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/rc-mini-jet-boat
      Also sollte es an Motoren nicht mangeln. Hoffe du findest für doch eine Lösung.
      Viele Grüße

      @@jtronicsTV Hi, danke für die Antwort. Ich habe mir nun einen Motor vom Typ 180 bestellt. Mich verwirrt die Konstruktion des Adapters ehrlich gesagt etwas, ich habe das Gefühl, dass da irgendetwas nicht passen wird - habe mir den Adapter ausgedruckt aber verstehe noch nicht so ganz, wie der benutzt werden soll. Hat ja 4 Löcher - ich hab aber das Gefühl, dass die 2 (die an den geraden Seiten) irgendwie ... wo sollen die hin? Die an den runden Ecken sind (soweit für mich erkennbar) ja die Löcher, in welche die Schrauben vom Motor kommen. Oder interpretiere ich da irgendetwas falsch?

    • @jtronicsTV
      @jtronicsTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hallo. Als erstes 2 Muttern der größe M2 in den Adapter pressen. Danach den Motor in den Adapter pressen. Danach wird der Adapter über die eingepressten Muttern mit dem Boot verschraubt.
      Die anderen Löcher sind optional.
