For all settings, replace "key" with just the key, for example - bind q sm_saveloc

!replays should work on most CSGO servers, but on CSS it is locked behind VIP ($7)

I recently learned this is actually a skill new surfers find impressive, after 4k+ hours its big normal to just know the map
Practising the map in saveloc, building that muscle memory and then executing every part perfectly in run is one of the most intensely satisfying processes for me
The demo's came out way before the bot you could spectate did. They were only saved to the FTP server at first, and then to the website, and then available for download inside the game, only much later did the specbot come out.

Saveloc is the ONLY reason I was able to get 100% on 85T in 2021 (before hardest T8 existed). Its the only way some T7 Linear + maps can be learned really. I will saveloc to the end until I land 3x in a row, then work backwards, complete that section 3x in a row etc.. If you can do something 3x in a row, it shows that it wasn't just a fluke. Then once you have saveloced each area 3x in a row all the way back to the start, you are ready for a run.

Hey man, great video. You’ve got a solid grasp on editing and presenting. I appreciate what you’re doing for the community. Surf however, as you’ve mentioned, has been in decline for years and now has a very small community. Maybe you should branch out a bit from surf and cover other topics (CS at large?) to draw in an audience, when the audience is larger reintroduce surf. Just a thought, keep it up!!!

If you don't play harder maps you won't get better. Try some T4's

can you explain what the unit bar thing is doing at 2:34 ? I've seen bhoppers use it a lot, seems like it warns you when you're turning too fast and losing units? also that's an intersting idea to go a few locs back to practice more and more of the end for consistency I'll have to try that for harder maps.

i have been surfing for 8 years now on and off. i have never used saveloc. i knew it was possible and tried once to get it to work on a css ksf server but failed so i figured it was a premium feature or something. i can only beat tier 3 maps maybe tier 4 lol.

There are so many CSGO servers that settings can change drastically between them.
Also note that some servers lack Saveloc, centerspeed, etc.
Do you think it's worth switching to CSS from csgo as I rlly wanna grind surf hard, money is not an issue just not sure if it's much different ? And also if I do get css where do I start ? Do you have a tutorial how to setup CSS as not sure what server to use and so on. Or perhaps do I wait for cs2 and see how that is
Good question, I'd say its fine to stay on CSGO - if you want a really authentic experience, SurfHeaven is 64t european servers.
With CS2 coming out soon the scene might change quite a bit, especially if surf pops off on the new engine.
CSS is my preference but comes with a lot of downsides, i'd say hold for CS2 and if things look dark get CSS.
Hey man, I just started learning to surf because of your content. I was wondering how long it usually takes to pick up the basics, because I'm close to 6 or 7 hours practise and still can't even come close to beating the easiest maps. I know that anything is possible with enough practise but I don't want to grind only to find out that I've only achieved what most players can do effortlessly.
the basics are incredibly hard. theres a tutorial playlist on my home page (the best guides i could find) that you should check out.
anyone play on snksrv and cant tell me if saveloc works there? does it work on any surf server
How is centerspeed a new feature? cl_showpos 1 will show your velocity and is built into the game.
showpos only shows your absolute velocity, centerspeed shows your horizontal velocity, which is more useful for surf

No, I use sm_teleprev and sm_telenext to navigate between savelocs. I have them bound to X and C.

It's a shame that this is what's expected of surf these days, in my opinion. I'll personally just stick to getting full runs through of the map because it feels less like a job that way for me. Different strokes for different folks though. Does make some maps feel far more frustrating than necessary because the makers assume you will be using save states everywhere.
How i use this crosshair with weapon?
i think i use the default crosshair from CS:S, in CSGO ud have to edit it to look similar
