From what I know he said he wanted to do his own take on this version of the Joker and man does he sell it too! Hes clearly not doing an impersonation of Marks Joker but rather his own.
He also sounds excited to an extent when retelling the joke, compared that with the gruesome images of Barbara having been shot by the Joker flash on screen as Jason recalls when he first heard that asylum joke having read it in Batman’s notes word for word… it’s just an unsettling moment, and the most notable reaction Joker gets from it (aside from Jason killing him) is a waitress going “meh” after hearing it. Leaving Joker disappointed… also him smiling his trademark grin without the white skin and red lips is a whole another level of unsettling.

I always liked how everyone acted around this Joker. You can really tell time has passed in this version of Gotham and that everyone knows that the Joker is a big deal and no good. Black Mask breaks Joker out of prison not just cause he's desperate but also because Joker's reputation means something. Barely anyone is brave enough to confront him and those that do like Batman are extremely cautious. Joker is Gotham's apex predator in this
And this evil joker isnt the asinine “murders thousands on a daily basis”, he likely tries but Batman stops him in time. Those broad shoulders, thick neck, and yeah, that raspy voice all added to this dangerous looking Joker. It shows that he doesn't only need psychological tactics to get his way. He has the ability to use force if he needs to.

This was his background in the movie Mask of The Phantasm. He is an enforcer of a mafia, an evil genius who knows the streets and rose from there, expert in using weapons and explosives. He's not some random clown whose jokes aren't laughed at and who's having a bad day.
John DiMaggio's voice coming out of that powerful physique makes this Joker pretty damn scary. Most incarnations are more brain than brawn but this one is both. I was just watching your worst ever Joker video, and I started thinking of John DiMagio's Joker performance, because it really was very good, especially because it's so different from Mark Hamill's Joker, yet still SO on point for the character. I love the scene where he kills all of Black Mask's goons and then says "I'm gonna need some guys...not these guys, because they're, you know, kinda dead" lol
I think one of the things I appreciate with DiMaggio is his Joker laugh is never the same. A lot of Joker VOs, Hamil included, fall for the trap of seeking a level of consistency, where the laugh practically becomes a catchphrase in how it remains unchanging. DiMaggio's laugh always has a level of spontaneouty that makes it feel weirdly natural, like an actual laugh, as if the Joker was just caught off guard by the humor of something as opposed to laughing because that's what the Joker is supposed to do in that situation.
John DiMaggio is my 2nd favorite animated Joker VA (behind of course Mark Hamil) and just like you, I never would have imagined him voicing the Joker but he delivered his lines so effortlessly and cruelly. My favorite scene with his take on the Joker is the Killing Joke scene with Jason.
DiMagio's Joker may be one of the top 5 people to portray the Joker. Perhaps underrated though many may have thought Red Hood Joker was done by Hamill & Batman done by Conroy

Any chance of doing a review of Brave and the Bold Joker? He's definitely one of my favorite versions of the character. Exactly! Not every incarnation of the Joker _”has”_ to be Mark Hamill (no disrespect to him whatsoever). The fact that Mark himself approved of John’s performance is really testament to how _well_ he pulled off the role (👍)!
John DiMagio did a magnificent job as The Joker! He is my fourth favourite after Mark Hamill, Troy Baker and Kevin Michael Richardson. Michael Emerson ( The Dark Knight Returns ) is my fifth favourite Joker.😊
Brooo john dimaggio's take on the joker is one of my favorite versions of the character, i absolutely loved him in under the red hood and death in the family, would love to see him come back in another animated batman movie or heck maybe even a new batman game
Troy is the only person that should be allowed to Mimic Hamills Joker since he does it so perfectly. I feel like people just overlook him just cause he does a Hamill impression. He puts just of enough of a spin on the character to know it's him
John Dimaggio's joker is my second favorite to mark's. its sadistic without being up its own ass about it. the humor is on point, no one has ever made me laugh more about a crowbar and on several occasions at that. he's grounded but still larger than life. its almost perfect on its own but since mark has had decades with it, there is no point comparing it with each other since mark has fleshed him out like no one has or will ever do.
"what a joker." this was splendid vid, vee. also, i don't speak for all batman fans i'm sure, but there are more than a few of us who purposely avoid certain adaptations of batman (i.e watching only movies and ignoring the animation) when possible due to not being in the right headspace to consume that type of content. still by the sounds of things this joker is pretty good. i may give these movies a chance at some point.
6:16 I absolutely love this part of the video! I'm glad I'm not the only one that realizes that this joker was inspired by the Dark knights Joker, for me the messy hair and the eyebrows and the black makeup near his eyes really suits him and makes him look 10 times menacing! I always prefer this Joker design over the other designs we received, Surprisingly, I think they brought this design over to Mortal Kombat 11 as well and of course My favorite is Joker! God I love this joker! 🃏
Personally Kevin Michael Richardson Joker is one of my favorite depictions of the character. One of the main reasons is cause 2004-2008's The Batman was the first Batman cartoon I ever watched when I was a kid, think it might've been my first real introduction to batman in general actually. Even now I still watch an episode from time to time, its underappreciated to be honest. Also Batman V Dracula is a banger of a movie and the vampirized Joker in it is so cool, go watch it if you haven't.
Yes! he had such a range from going higher and laughing like a maniac but could also very well change and slide into.a deeper more menacing voice that actually kind felt threatening.
I'd love to see a three jokers story concept with if time willing Mark Hamil (i'd settle for Jeff Bennett's performance in Brave and the bold for a "oldschool" joker), John DiMaggio as second joker and maybe Richard Epcar? or Kevin Michael Richardson? as third and have three jokers with three different takes on the same madness.
Had the honor to meet him and tell him about how amazing his joker was and wanted an autograph of that joker but some reason he didn't have any pictures of this joker he told me why I just can't remember...but yes...a greatly underrated joker
To me, John DiMaggio is my second favorite voice for the Joker (third been Heath Ledger and 1....we all know), what he brings to Under the Red Hood is just incredible and he easily is one of the highlights of an already masterpiece of a film.
Would have loved a 3 Jokers movie with DiMagio as the Criminal, Hamill as the Comedian, Baker as the Clown, Ackles as Jason, and Conroy as Batman. Every time I revisit that comic I hear those voices.
You know what I dislike most about the Joker is that the character is indirectly responsible for the arch-nemeisis obsession. As much as I like the Joker, it does annoy me when fans get obsessed over a superhero having an arch-nemeisis that they just exspect will always show up in almost every story involving the superhero. For example, people who complain that the Shredder doesn't play a role in some of the TMNT stories.
The trope you’re looking for is “Joker Immunity”. Basically that’s where the villain is proven to be so popular that they would often make reappearances in story, even when they are supposedly killed off in story. Doctor Doom is practically a master of said trope, to the point where he actually spun off a different but related trope in the form of “Actually A Doombot”
Y'know at this point, I think I would love to see a breakdown of every Joker performance (animated and live-action). Probably too much work, but your breakdowns are very well thought-out and entertaining.
i always loved that in DiMaggio's appearances as joker, that his joker seemed to act out of sheer boredom. killing just for killing isnt the fun part to him. its leaving a mark. he likes to see others around him destroyed by his actions. its why in death in the family he is so excited whenever he sees robin. because he understands the damage he dealt to robin and sees how far he has fallen entirely because of jokers actions. its why he attempts to kill jason in the first place; to see batman hurt. i always liked the scene where he kills masks guards. he enters the scene i feel with a genuine sense of boredom. and by the end he is exhilarated by his total dominion over mask, and that he has caused him problems for literally no reason. he enjoys doing things intentionally irredeemable and things that dont have a justification. even in the scene where he beats jason to death, he seems bored. sure hes reveling in robins pain. but it isnt enough for him. he wants to get to the punchline. "tell bats i said hello" is the perfect summary of this version of the joker. he is my favourite by far.
5:49 is actually my favorite Joker laugh of all time. The way John's voice starts off high & hoarse then devolves into hysterical laughter gets me every time. Dude is a phenomenal Joker.
I feel like Mark Hamill is better as the silly yet serious villain that you could see return day after day but for a sadistic psycho who cracks jokes while cracking necks, John really is the best! The darkest moments in the comics for me have his voice in my mind!
This one and The Joker from The Batman cartoon are my absolute favorite versions of him outside of the books. The one from Under The Red Hood is very much The Psychotic hilarious maniac while the one from the show is the very zany and very acrobatic clown. Another thing that really makes them stand out compared to certain (Read it: Certain) other versions of Joker is the fact that they can actually take Batman in a fight, especially the one from the cartoon in the first two seasons
I thought of Under the Red Hood immediately before clicking this video. I thought that was one of the most incredible performances, and the only thing that made that film stand out.
I think what helps with John DiMaggio voicing Joker is that he's had experience voicing a Joker-like character in the past (albeit he didn't have the same level of intimidation as Joker) - Dr. Draken from Kim Possible. As someone who grew up with KP, DiMaggio had fit more for Joker than people realized. ^^
"This isn't Batman, this isn't your inner demon, this is YOU! The deep down INSIDE you!" "SO ADMITTED, SON!!! Who's your daddy?" Probably the BEST lines of John DiMaggio's Joker
That scene was awesome. The Joker had a gun against his forehead and still gave the impression that he was in full control of the situation. He was also genuinely surprised that Jason had repressed so much and that just made the whole thing all the more hilarious. Joker isn't caught off guard very often but when he is, he just takes it in stride and laughs.
“The first boy blunder had some manners, I’m going to have to teach you a lesson so you can better follow in his footsteps…nah, I’m just gonna keep beating you with this crowbar”
This Joker feels more, as you said, unpredictable. While every other Jokers mostly feels like they're a maniac, but want to be recognized, especially by Batman, as they mess with him. This Joker, just wants to mess around with, and break you, doesn't care though if he gets recognition like the other Jokers. He takes pride in his work yes, but that doesn't mean he wants recognition like the other Jokers want from Batman. This is a man that doesn't care if he goes over the edge, or if it's funny, if it happens to be funny while he does it, all the better.
I was just thinking the same exact thing. His gave The Joker such a vibe that for you appreciate someone else was able to bring a different style to The Jokers voice!
Even though Mark Hamill is inseparable as Joker, John DigMaggio did such a fantastic and unique performance with Joker. Honestly he is my second favorite voice actor of the character my third being Troy Baker.
What a Joker, again? I like how some of your videos are like trading cards. Makes me wanna collect all the Jokers you got. Btw, I’m gonna have to see if you have any “merch”.
100% agree! I adored this version of the Joker for standing out amongst the others and trying something new. His voice and characterisation was perfect for the story being told; dark and menacing whilst still having that unhinged Joker energy. Wish we had seen more of John DiMaggio's Joker.
John DiMaggio's Joker has a special place in my heart. I can't explain it but he is amazing. I think he is more sadistic and dangerous from any other version.
I think the main issue is that for the longest time, John DiMaggio wasn't listed in most people "favorite Jokers" top 3s/top5s because he had only played him in *"Under the Red Hood"* , in which he was arguably the tertiary antagonist after Red Hood & Black Mask (and I guess Ra's al Ghul was also important, voiced by the fantastic Jason Isaacs, who would make a fabulus live action Ra's... in my mind he's probably the only one who could top Alexander Siddig's portrayal of the Demon's Head in *Gotham* ) And sadly, despite being awesome, the interactive movie *"Death in the Family"* suffered from a very, very confusing promotional campaign, in which many people got suckered into buying the digital version of the film, which was just a shorter retelling of UTRH with a couple bonus scenes (Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent having a chat in a diner at the end was nice, but hardly worth the money they asked for it) And even to this day, there are still Batman fans who never realized that the physical version of that film is completely different and full of amazing new scenes. ... and you just taught me that John also voiced Joker is a couple Lego movies (I'm not a massive fan of those so I didn't know). In short, => _First issue: he hasn't played Joker enough_ The fact that he was pretty much the first "major" movie Joker after *"The Dark Knight"* (2008), just 2 years after Heath Ledger blew everyone's mind with his performance as the Joker, also didn't play in John's favor. I feel like most people just wanted more Ledger, or more Mark Hamill (the game *Arkham Asylum* came out just one year after TKD, and Joker there was very well received... but Mark is the most famous animated Joker, from *Batman:TAS* to *Justice League: Action* ) in short => _Second issue: had to compete with Ledger & Hamill /!\ pre-posting trigger warning edit: from here I don't talk about the Joker much, so you can stop reading, unless you want to read my rant about Black Mask /!\ And then there's my selfish take on UTRH, when the movie was announced I was ecstatic because my man Roman Sionis, the Black Mask, that I fell in love with thanks to Matsuda's *The Batman* (voiced by James Remar) , and who was played by John DiMaggio himself in *Batman: The Brave and the Bold* , is absolutely hilarious in *Under the Hood* (funny how the movie was such a success that in future reprinting, the name of the comic book arc would be changed to Under the Red Hood instead of simply "Under the Hood" , but hey it does ring a bit better IMHO) and even if I realize that most people enjoy Wade Williams' role as Black Mask in that movie, and I enjoy it myself, his characterization is very different from the one in the comic book arc. So even if I loved that movie, I kinda resented the extra scenes that Joker got compared to the comic book version of that story, since I felt like the extra Joker scenes took away from Black Mask's own arc... I really wanted to see him interact with Mr Freeze, Deathstroke, and even go toe-to-toe with Red Hood himself. Ironic how I had to wait for friggin' *Batwoman* season 2 to finally get a proper adaptation of _my_ Roman Sionis (played by Peter outerbridge) who is the Big Bad of the second season of that crappy show. I mean, a crappy show/season can still have some great characters & episodes here and there, and for me, that second season of *Batwoman* had some quality versions of Black Mask, Victor Zsasz, Cluemaster, and to a lesser degree, Hush (only in one episode, but he was still way better than how he was in season 1 pre-facial surgery). On the good guys side, we got out first live action Stephanie Brown, who was really good, much better than the mediocre one from *Gotham Knight* (the CW show, not the video game) and a badass cameo from John Diggle, who helps Luke Fox/Batwing take on his old comic book nemesis Russell "Menace" Tavaroff, and give him some sound advice. Wow, I really went on a wild tangent here, sorry about that (if anyone managed to read all that mess ^^') Keep up the good work, Vee!
I loved this Joker in particular how he didnt care about anything at all which was very entertaining, amusing and had huge impact in viewers experience when contrasted with others around him. Black mask went insane when he decided to release him. But I'm so glad he did.
"What a Joker." Very good video and I totally share the sentiment of John DiMaggio's joker being underrated👍 No kidding my top 3 Jokers are: 1. Mark Hamill 2. John DiMaggio (Under the Red Hood) 3. Kevin Michael Richardson (The Batman, 2004 animated series) And the honorable mention goes to Troy Baker because he sounds too much like Hamill's Joker. Also the designs of the Joker in UTRH is awesome. A great work all around with the character.
I am glad there is still people talking about this joker and his voice actor. IT WAS.....YOOOOOO. An older joker that has been many battles with the Batman. Title of the video is the truth.
Under the Red Hood, joker does not get enough love, unpopular opinion I think his version of the joker is my favorite. I'm so glad you did a video on him.
To answer that @0:47 yeah! Troy Baker was hired to do Mark Hamill’s Joker. Arkham origins is the prequel to his Joker in the Arkham series 😂 it wouldn’t make sense for him to do his own Joker
Joker is the one villian that makes everyone nervous , black mask, penguin, two face, batman etc. Everyone is afraid because they dont know what he'll do next.
I think his best scene is when Red Hood is going to bomb the entire building with Bats and Joker inside, Bats runs to defuse the explosive and Joker stops him and starts choking him and laughing maniacally. He gives a very ominous feeling that this joker is completely out of it. Like, all Jokers are completely iinsane, but most of his iterations have at least a modicum of self preservation, but DiMaggios Joker literally just pure madness.
“A little louder, lamb chop! I think you may have a collapsed lung, that always impedes the oratory.”

That's what I appreciate about Dimaggio's portrayal--he never tried to imitate Hamill. He made the role his own.
As much as I love Hamill's Joker and impersonations of his Joker... I like hearing original Joker voices that aren't like Hamill's.
From what I know he said he wanted to do his own take on this version of the Joker and man does he sell it too! Hes clearly not doing an impersonation of Marks Joker but rather his own.
I think John DiMaggio does the "Killing Joke" better than Mark Hamill because of how cold and scary it sounds when he tells it.
Leaving Joker disappointed… also him smiling his trademark grin without the white skin and red lips is a whole another level of unsettling.
that probably has more to do with the direction he got
True
I think Mark Hamill's Joker was natural born pure evil.
John DiMaggio was better as the Joker in Killing Joke.
Nah. Killing Joke Joker is perfect for Mark. Because that one has some really vulnerable scenes and DiMaggio wouldn't be a good fit for those.
“What a joker” I love mark hamill but I feel like they put his performance so high on a pedestal that other actors don’t put their own spin or voice into the role like so few have. This is a terrifying performance and I love it.

I agree 100%
To forget Dimaggio's role as Joker is to not know what brilliance an animated Jason Todd is.
I think what gave him the edge was how great the script was.
Exactly. They wrote Joker perfectly. He was scary, unpredictable, actually funny (unlike most Jokers), and his motivations were on-brand
"what a joker."
this was splendid vid, vee. also, i don't speak for all batman fans i'm sure, but there are more than a few of us who purposely avoid certain adaptations of batman (i.e watching only movies and ignoring the animation) when possible due to not being in the right headspace to consume that type of content. still by the sounds of things this joker is pretty good. i may give these movies a chance at some point.
What does not the right headspace to consume animated content mean? The only time Batman ever gets into gory territory is rare.
John DiMaggio's take is probably my 2nd favorite, behind Mark Hamill's But Above Kevin Micheal Richardson's take, i really love this joker
Oooooh yeah Richard Epcar? freakin' A man. So glad he got another crack at the character in Injustice XD
Jeff Bennett is by far the best Joker voiceover I've ever heard
Had the honor to meet him and tell him about how amazing his joker was and wanted an autograph of that joker but some reason he didn't have any pictures of this joker he told me why I just can't remember...but yes...a greatly underrated joker
When I met him at NYCC he had Joker photos,I got one autographed. But that was back in 2017.
To me, John DiMaggio is my second favorite voice for the Joker (third been Heath Ledger and 1....we all know), what he brings to Under the Red Hood is just incredible and he easily is one of the highlights of an already masterpiece of a film.
Finally we give this performance a shout-out!
Would have loved a 3 Jokers movie with DiMagio as the Criminal, Hamill as the Comedian, Baker as the Clown, Ackles as Jason, and Conroy as Batman. Every time I revisit that comic I hear those voices.
R.i.p. Kevin Conroy.
He will forever be remembered fondly.
I love his joker, he’s intermediating looking. probably one of the only jokers I wouldn’t want to come across of.
I want to see a storyline exploring how dumb this gets sometime. Like, a random cop shoots the Joker, and Batman goes on an insane murder spree.
John dimaggio isnt really even the main villain of this film though. There are many.
Let me tell you something vee infuso you are right john dimagio is a great joker
Yeah, that's about right. John DiMaggio did a surprisingly good job.
The day this man talks about Batman The Brave and the Bold is the day i'll be happy.
He really is fantastic. I would love to see more of his Joker, in this kind of material.
DiMaggio's voice for this Joker was perfect. The voice cast is one of the top reasons why this movie is as good as it is.
The deep down INSIDE you!"
"SO ADMITTED, SON!!! Who's your daddy?"
Probably the BEST lines of John DiMaggio's Joker
The way he says "boy wonder" in the Death of the Family ending will always be awesome.
I was just thinking the same exact thing.
His gave The Joker such a vibe that for you appreciate someone else was able to bring a different style to The Jokers voice!
Also joker trying to get that Lighter to light is the most realistic thing i have ever seen
Even though Mark Hamill is inseparable as Joker, John DigMaggio did such a fantastic and unique performance with Joker. Honestly he is my second favorite voice actor of the character my third being Troy Baker.
I think DiMaggio should be the new go to animated joker voice
I love how unexpectedly great DiMaggio was as Joker
He did his own thing and he did it perfectly, it’s why I like him as a voice actor
Wish we had seen more of John DiMaggio's Joker.
finally someone put my thoughts into words, he's absolutely my favorite animated joker ever!
I used to think Lego Joker was John in the Lego games now I know it's Chris Smith.
My 2nd favorite Joker voice. He's amazing. "Tell the big man I said... Hello.... HAHAHAHA"
John DiMaggio's Joker has a special place in my heart. I can't explain it but he is amazing. I think he is more sadistic and dangerous from any other version.
Knowing that he created Bender’s iconic laughter, I’m not surprised he made a great joker laugh
John DiMaggio is a such a great voice actor
Honeslty, one of my favorites
I think the main issue is that for the longest time, John DiMaggio wasn't listed in most people "favorite Jokers" top 3s/top5s because he had only played him in *"Under the Red Hood"* , in which he was arguably the tertiary antagonist after Red Hood & Black Mask
(and I guess Ra's al Ghul was also important, voiced by the fantastic Jason Isaacs, who would make a fabulus live action Ra's... in my mind he's probably the only one who could top Alexander Siddig's portrayal of the Demon's Head in *Gotham* )
And sadly, despite being awesome, the interactive movie *"Death in the Family"* suffered from a very, very confusing promotional campaign, in which many people got suckered into buying the digital version of the film, which was just a shorter retelling of UTRH with a couple bonus scenes (Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent having a chat in a diner at the end was nice, but hardly worth the money they asked for it)
And even to this day, there are still Batman fans who never realized that the physical version of that film is completely different and full of amazing new scenes.
... and you just taught me that John also voiced Joker is a couple Lego movies (I'm not a massive fan of those so I didn't know).
In short, =>
_First issue: he hasn't played Joker enough_
The fact that he was pretty much the first "major" movie Joker after *"The Dark Knight"* (2008), just 2 years after Heath Ledger blew everyone's mind with his performance as the Joker, also didn't play in John's favor.
I feel like most people just wanted more Ledger, or more Mark Hamill (the game *Arkham Asylum* came out just one year after TKD, and Joker there was very well received... but Mark is the most famous animated Joker, from *Batman:TAS* to *Justice League: Action* )
in short =>
_Second issue: had to compete with Ledger & Hamill
/!\ pre-posting trigger warning edit: from here I don't talk about the Joker much, so you can stop reading, unless you want to read my rant about Black Mask /!\
And then there's my selfish take on UTRH, when the movie was announced I was ecstatic because my man Roman Sionis, the Black Mask, that I fell in love with thanks to Matsuda's *The Batman* (voiced by James Remar) , and who was played by John DiMaggio himself in *Batman: The Brave and the Bold* , is absolutely hilarious in *Under the Hood*
(funny how the movie was such a success that in future reprinting, the name of the comic book arc would be changed to Under the Red Hood instead of simply "Under the Hood" , but hey it does ring a bit better IMHO)
and even if I realize that most people enjoy Wade Williams' role as Black Mask in that movie, and I enjoy it myself, his characterization is very different from the one in the comic book arc.
Wow, I really went on a wild tangent here, sorry about that (if anyone managed to read all that mess ^^')
Keep up the good work, Vee!
Kevin Michael Richardson's portrayal was great.
John DiMaggio's delivery sounds like Bender from Futurama was playing the Joker.... Oh Wait A Minute
John Dimaggio made a great job. Thanks for this video, it’s a good tribute this movie and the character.
I love this Joker because he seems to genuinely trying to get others to laugh.
I loved this Joker in particular how he didnt care about anything at all which was very entertaining, amusing and had huge impact in viewers experience when contrasted with others around him. Black mask went insane when he decided to release him. But I'm so glad he did.
John's Joker is such an underated character from a very great film. this is truly crimminal
"What a Joker."
Very good video and I totally share the sentiment of John DiMaggio's joker being underrated👍
No kidding my top 3 Jokers are:
1. Mark Hamill
2. John DiMaggio (Under the Red Hood)
3. Kevin Michael Richardson (The Batman, 2004 animated series)
And the honorable mention goes to Troy Baker because he sounds too much like Hamill's Joker.
Also the designs of the Joker in UTRH is awesome. A great work all around with the character.
I am glad there is still people talking about this joker and his voice actor. IT WAS.....YOOOOOO. An older joker that has been many battles with the Batman. Title of the video is the truth.
John DiMaggio is just amazing and a terrifying Joker and down right hilarious.
I fucking love the ending man.
What a Joker.
I instantly loved his voice when I heard it in the Red Hood film. I was surprise that he wasn't brought up more often for his take on the Joker.
I love John DiMaggios joker I’m glad someone else is talking about his version of the joker.
He’s evil and despicable, yet I can’t help but laugh with every line he says. I hope we see more of him in future projects.
"And...here...we...go" 🦇
I've always loved this version.
Joker is the one villian that makes everyone nervous , black mask, penguin, two face, batman etc. Everyone is afraid because they dont know what he'll do next.
Yup. I even heard a little Dr. Drakken in The Joker when I watched the movie which he did the voice of in Kim Possible.
We might get more John DiMaggio now since Mark Hamill is retiring his Joker (he wants to do the role with Kevin Conroy only).
When batman tries to save his life from the bomb and he says "No, this is better", I GET CHILLS ITS SO GOOD
bro how can ppl forget about his joker. dimaggio's "Tell the big man i said...hello." still haunts me
john DiMaggio version of the joker reminds how the golden age of joker would sound like in great way a darker and sarcastic performance.
hes my fav
I think his best scene is when Red Hood is going to bomb the entire building with Bats and Joker inside, Bats runs to defuse the explosive and Joker stops him and starts choking him and laughing maniacally. He gives a very ominous feeling that this joker is completely out of it. Like, all Jokers are completely iinsane, but most of his iterations have at least a modicum of self preservation, but DiMaggios Joker literally just pure madness.
John DiMaggio is one of my favorite VA's, I loved him in the new Transformers movie this year as Stratosphere.
