    I usually use hojo hand motars with the artirelly overhaul mods, they can be a viable pick there

    Viking, you should do a video on kisho ninja. How to use them in different situations, offensive vs defensive sieges, field battles, etc. I think they're such a cool unit and I'd love to see your take on them

    Forget getting along with the Imagawa. They're hard-coded to back stab you in the early game. Fortunately, ashigaru spam saved my bacon and I managed to thwack them hard. You're better off being friendly with the Takeda, at least until they leave Kai empty.

    • @FaithfulFumoFan23
      @FaithfulFumoFan23 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hojo and Takeda are my two favorite clans. My favorite campaigns are the ones where we completely take over together. True bffs. Until I stab them in the back of course because I only play domination. Imagawa can get fucked.

    0:47 you don't upgrade castles much? I give every non recruitment city (specialty or early game location) always a sake den and market. When playing or playing close by the Otomo or Ikko Ikki, often put a temple down as the third slot. Recruitment cities I always go for 3 slots+: unit building, specific bonus camp, secondary unit building or temple for monks. With war horses I even go stable, Naginata dojo, katana dojo and the charge boost camp.

    • @TheVikingGeneral
      @TheVikingGeneral  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Upgrading your castle costs food. So for every castle upgrade, all your provinces will be growing 1 less. Upgrading a castle even to put down a market generally isn't worth it. Sometimes you have to of course, to get the buildings for your agents, but I avoid it as much as possible.
      Especially since the AI will upgrade their castles anyway, so I generally use those provinces to put all the buildings I need.

      @@TheVikingGeneral btw talking of Otomo and ikko Ikki, could you make a guide on them with a focus on their monks agents and their revolt function? I always play them defensively (matchlocks Otomo; just huge units of defensive Ashigaru (bow, yari) with good morale for the ikko ikki placed on the outer castles of my empire) and slow (building economy due to lack in trade partners and converting cities to my religion). For the expansion I almost exclusively use revolts.

    • @TheVikingGeneral
      @TheVikingGeneral  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@octopus8420 Yeah, I'll probably make an a bit more in-depth to those clans later. First they'll get the same short overview like the other's, but with their uniqueness it definitely warrants a more in-depth guide.

    Hojo hand mortars are relatively good in offensive sieges, better than fire rockets. In siege battle hinged trajectory is quite useful, accuracy isn't that big of a deal against stationary units, and they have more ammo... In land battles tho - hand mortars are almost useless

    • @mateuszk3812
      @mateuszk3812 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On average they are better than ashigaru archers thanks to morale debuff and disruption, but yeah still useless compared to their cost

    • @TheVikingGeneral
      @TheVikingGeneral  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Eh, even in sieges they don't really have the killing power compared to fire rockets in my experience. While they are a lot more accurate, they just seem to kill less. I did do a few extra tests, but fire rockets generally had at least twice the amount of kills before both units ran out of ammo.

    • @mateuszk3812
      @mateuszk3812 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheVikingGeneral yeah, it seems like they always shoot slightly before enemy unit, not in center but first rank or so. I find they seem to work best shooting at a different (best still moving) targets every 1-2 volleys.
      I remember, few times i was able to do similar kills numbers on them as on my fire rockets thanks to this.

    Greetings from Brazil. Waiting for Hattori Clan, now I have know this channel. Since I got this game I keep struggling with management of all states, trying to figure out by myself how can I rule a country.
    I started with hattori clan and since I couldn't complete the campain until now, I refuse myself to try with another one.
    I always get stuck at somepoint that I need more 8 or 9 provinces to win the long campain at normal level, but keep the armies and make more to advance is impraticable.
    By standart, 4 yari ashigaru and 4 bow warrior monks at each army it's enough to beat anyone at sieges (both ways) and keep them at the new province. Less than that and I start to deal with insurrections.

    • @TheVikingGeneral
      @TheVikingGeneral  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The hattori are probably one of the most difficult clans to complete the campaign with. While they start in a relatively rich area, they pay a lot more for their troops.
      But I'll cover it in more detail in the hattori video. I'm currently working on chosokabe, so that'll go first.

Do you know how to roll back the experience of veterans from the add-on (daikyu samurai, fire cavalry, wako pirates, etc.) in online battles? I have been looking for information on this for a very long time, but to no avail. Maybe you know how to do it. Can this be done with the help of various programs? I don't know and I need help...

    Hi Viking, ^^ very good summery.
    Yes. East is the safer option. and it gives you access to and Flechter Building, for more accuracy. If you want to use Range/Siege-Units.
    But maan. Kai + Warhorses & Suruga with its School are just very good Provinces. it would be a shame not to conquer them.

    I just complete easy and normal camapine
    First one with uesigi and then oda
    I trying for at least 2 week completing a long campain by hojo in hard difficulty
    But i alwase got backstabed by takeda or imagawa . After i dealing with Satomi and satake(and making satomi my vassale) i alwase get attacked by uesugi and then betrayed by takeda. I even sooo unlucky that even takeda make alliance with ikko ikki and then they both try to wipe out imagawa and then me.
    My activity in battles and controling settelment its not bad even my daimyo honor is on maximum. But how can i have a great diplomcay?( i even had research any bushido arts that give me diplomatic relation to other clans)
    Even after that. Date is declearing war on me.
    So uesugi takeda ikko ikki and date(and sometimes oda or imagawa if they survive) want to tear me apart.
    What is your segguestion ? Should i raise my army and attack takeda as soon as possible or there is another way you segguest?
    Thanka for the video and reading my comment
