This is one way to decrease your prep time when making cold processed soap. Masterbatching your lye-water solution will allow you to save time on prepping and allows you to make a weeks worth of lye-water to work with.
The math is simple: Simply double the lye called for in the recipe, pour this amount from your 50/50 lye water solution. Then, subtract the water weight from the recipe from the lye weight from the recipe...this remaining figure is the amount of additional liquid needed in the recipe. Be creative! Use alternative liquids like milk, aloe vera, water, or even pureed vegetables...be creative!
