- Residents in San Francisco's Civic Center area are reacting to another looting incident caught on video at the Walgreens at 9th and Market and are worrying that it could lead to more store closures down the line. Jose Martinez reports.

They were filmed around 4:30pm and officers were on scene at 8:30pm after the store closed. What does that do for anybody? We need a new police chief.

Police take their orders from the mayor. A sheriff is an elected position and can operate independently.

@@User-54631 The point was that law enforcement responded FOUR hours after the incident, which implies whomever is in charge of the agency isn't as effective as one would expect the leader of any LE agency to be.
Toughen penalties how? Notice how this guy doesnt say jail time for theft. These people need to spend years in jail without parole.

I've watched countless videos like this now. I'm starting to think SF has a demographics problem. There seems to be a consistent theme in all of these videos.

Bigger picture here: are we as a community expected to only shop online and/or amazon? It seems like a set-up to allow this so that in the future, we are forced to shop for everything from amazon. I do feel bad for Walgreens. These kids definitely need consequences. We shouldn't let shoplifters dictate the rest of society. Not happy with this governance.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen thieves in the Walgreens here in San Francisco. I have story after story. I remember last Easter a guy came in with an Easter basket and stole all this candy in his basket. Last week, I saw an altercation as a guy was trying to leave with his jacket full of stuff.

Audience feel surprised when you see this video, but it happens every day in San Francisco. My aunt was robbed and mobbed by 4 -5 black kids with baseball bat. She didn't call police because they usually catch and release, and revenge later on. Two day aga, a young man was shot by 2 black teenagers in Powell street station. You know how bad the station. Employee are not allowed to stop them, and polices are prohibits to chase suspects. This is San Francisco
