Great overview! Developers sometimes do not understand how important the story and lore can be for solo players. I want to be IMMERSED in the experience with the option to play with friends if I want too.
As I longtime LOTRO player it was awesome when they made the change to being able to solo the Epic quest line, it was too difficult to find a group to do the required group content. I am a new player to New World and loving it so far!
Since I have no friends, solo is a must!...lol. I wish I had more time for their 10 player raids, but that is challenging in itself. I am currently playing the New World original and DLC to widen my knowledge of this game. Much is changing, but the basics are still intact.
i love that you can coop basically, my bro and i think thats perfect, we wana be in an mmo world, but sorta do our own thing, so we'll quest and such together, and then dip our toes in more mmo-ish content as we feel like. love it. ive wanted warcraft on console for so long, so this could satisfy that.
I had a great time with it as well. Looking forward to it when it launches. Yes I like the fact that you can play it solo. I agree that this is the best change as it opens the game up to ALL that want to play. I do not partying up with people but I really don't like running with pugs. It's like playing a round of golf with people you don't know. It can end up being a really bad day!
I tried the beta the last day for ps5 and it literally was some of the most fun I have ever had in an mmo for years. So excited for the release I can’t wait!!!
The new world team one-up themselves every time when it comes to visuals. At launch the game looked amazing, brimstone was even better, and Elysian wilds was better than that. I've seen the new areas, and lemme tell ya, the streak hasn't ended. They've still got it.
it's good to see the perspective of someone who isn't a jaded angry veteran with thousands of hours in the game like myself, we were in content draught for damn near a year, but I'm excited about the new things and the fact that we are getting a bunch of new players doing all the cool stuff for the first time too, gonna be a good time, this game is a hell of a deal for $60
The group content are some of the best elements of the game both for pvp and pve. I mostly play for the pvp War mode, but as pve content goes many of their dungeons/expeditions are quite unique and memorable. Visually Tempest Heart is a masterpiece. My favorite boss fight experience and for audio sound is Empyrean Forge. It makes you feel like you walked into the Thunder Dome the first few times you run it. It's pretty awesome.
Razer does sell a PS5 controller "Wolverine V2 Pro" with a very similar layout to the Xbox controller. The controller has all the PS5 controller feedback but has a xbox layout.
In the free for all pvp zone, every time you go there you can loot a few things and still keep them if you are dead, but the majority you will drop when dead.
@@Renfail To my understanding, there is a pve place you can get stuff, but you'll want to go to the pvp area to get non drop reward object (I think its a gold coconut or something like that) once a week for upgrades. you get like 100 dabloons that you just keep every time you go and collect in the pvp area and you keep those even if killed. I'm going to do it just for the reward and see what I can ninja while people are busy fighting... lol at least there will be that 100 min you get and can build up for reward tradeins.
I have heard that you must purchase the upgrade that gives access to mounts to get the full Aeternum update. Those of us who just bought the base game will not get the full Aeternum content upon release.

my biggest fear is still how the target lock will be done in NW, could be a nice and moderate mecanic to help console or could destroy the competitive pvp
It's funny that you mention that. I bought a new PC back when this game first launched, mainly just for this game. But now that I've played the beta on the PS5, I'm actually thinking of buying it again so I can play it on the PS5. It was a smoother playing experience with the controller. I'm just wondering if playing with the controller on PC will change much with the revamped New World Aeternum. I don't want to miss out on the addition of the mounts for pre-order. If you played the beta on PS5 I'd suggest buying on the same console so you can get the skins you earned in the beta you can't claim them on PC or XBOX. If you care about those things
Have that same problem myself with the PS5 controller, if it was just a little smaller it would be great. Be PC with xbox controller i think, no point buying the game twice! Looking forward to playing the new update, had a good time in the beta.
Hey Renfail. I have a question for you. I purchased New World back when it was first released and have played it on my PC for over 1300 hours on controller. I really enjoyed the beta version on the PS5 with controller and I'm stuck wondering if I should purchase the game again for the PS5 because of the great experience I had. Do you think the PC version of New World Aeternum, with controller, will be just as good as what we experienced on the PS5 beta version? Any thoughts? Thank you for your time.
It's all the same across all three platforms in Aeternum. If you have a modern PC that will be the best visual experience if you've got like a 4000 series or etc. But still great on consoles.
I think if people want solo gameplay go play a solo game. I agree it's great that you can complete the story single player as it's not a new game, and I will have to catch up to legacy players. So that's cool and all.
I hope they do right by The Lord of the rings, since this is basically the same team that's making Amazons lotro... That would be the only reason for me to touch this. A sneak peak so to speak

I always bottle-necked at the group activities. Every time I come back to this game, I quit when those pile up because I simply can't find other players. I don't want to sit around waiting for people either. I've never found a guild, no matter how big, with people willing to run lower level content with me. I'm sure there's a load of work-arounds and discords servers etc. that could fix this issue, but I'm not going to do all that. If I can't get the resources I need in the game itself, then the game is flawed in my opinion.

Yes, you need to actually pay for things to access them :) If you want the upgrade, you need to at least get the expansion pack.

I bought a new pc to play this game! Tge world is so beautiful and i wanted to look better than my old gaming laptop could do.

It's literally been redesigned with the solo storyline MSQ.

It's literally a non issue with the new version of the game as you can solo 100% of the storyline
