hope you all enjoy this week's video! for our friends who have been plant-based for a while: what was your favorite meal to make when you first went vegan? hit us with the nostalgia ☺
The key to any vegan or gluten-free diet is to lean into the foods that are already vegan or gluten-free. There's nothing more tiring or expensive than trying to recreate meat or gluten based meals. Embrace the new.
@brainfluidZ they didn't say vegan is gluten-free. They said vegan OR gluten free. Both are equally difficult/expensive to start if your trying to recreate your favourite meals
Sarah, you are the first person who has ever made from-scratch cashew cheese sauce look doable for me. I love your channel and recipe inspiration so much. Please never stop doing what you do, you make being vegan seem so down to earth and accessible for people like me who have disabilities and usually have a very limited amount of energy or "spoons" to do tasks. Your recipes are always really good but also very approachable and doable. I can't tell you how much I really appreciate it, it truly makes it a lot easier for me to be vegan and for others as well.
PLEASE make a video on aquafaba with exact recipes! I always hear people saying how there are so many ways of using it but no one ever explains how we can use them in recipes.
lately i've been trying some vegan recipes, although I am not vegan, and I have to say I LOVED the tuna salad chickpea recipe. It resembles actual tuna salad so closely and all the ingredients meshed so perfectly together, me and my boyfriend couldn't get enough of this dish! I like to eat it with crackers and it's sooo yummy. Thank you so much :)
It’s been suggested that I go plant-based because of health issues, so I’m happy to find your channel. I also grew up on tons of tuna and egg salad sandwiches. 😄
I’m not vegan but I do enjoy including vegan recipes from time to time. The one I want to try first is the Vegan Chick pea salad. That looks absolutely delicious. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I learned to use medium tofu to make egg salad. Just kind of chop up like I did egg. Add some black salt. Then adding the veggies you want. Add the vegan mayo and pickle relish. So yummy.
You can use butter beans/fava beans for the cheese sauce as a substitute to nuts. You can also use sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds, which I’ve tried. It works but it’s best with cashews in my opinion.
O. M. G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am about to cry RN!!!!! I have been looking for a vegan cheese recipe going on **3 YEARS**!!!!!! THIS ONE ACTUALLY WORKS & (to me) tastes like CHEDDAR!!!! 100%!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! ***Note: I did not add any water. I like it thick. My dear, you just got another sub!!!
A woman named Jill makes a awesome cheese sauce in a blender.. We love it and hubby puts it on everything 😂. Let me go find it for you. Jill's 5-minute game-changer cheese sauce. That's the name of the video. 👍👍👍
I am Esselstyn-compliant (zero added oil from any source) so this is helpful but some substitutions required for "tuna salad." Some nutritional yeast is helpful for an added umami dimension, and oyster mushrooms or salsify are also good for imitating the 'seafood-ness' flavor. Also, having a deep personal relationship with your air fryer is invaluable for anyone trying to remove fats.
Amazing! So my sister made this tuna salad and it’s incredible. To all the comments that keep asking why call it tuna because it taste just like tuna.lol if I didn’t see her, make it with my own eyes I would never believe there wasn’t tuna fish in this. The taste is on point! Great video amazing recipe keep it up you’re killing it! ❤
Adding an umeboshi plum or ume plum vinegar to your vegan cheese sauce is ELITE. It adds the right kind of fermenty/funky/umami thing you look for in cheese.
Love everything and your delivery thank you. Can you please explain to me why the addition of msg - what does it add ? I’m so use to hearing it being described as a negative but yet it’s in many vegan recipes I’ve see lately.
Can't believe I've been watching you since 2015-16....it doesn't feel like it was that long ago~!! Always love these simple staples, thanks for the refresher lady =) (and Eric!)
Just started my vegan journey and these recipes are amazing, headed to the store for ingredients. 👍🏾 thanks because I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. It’s been 2 months now.
This was like a trip down memory lane. 🙂 I still eat chickpea salad all the time. Curry and chili were my favorite things to make when I first went vegan .(and still are) Both are very forgiving, can use whatever veg I have on hand with a can of beans and are so satisfying.
I add my tomatoes diced in small pieces, finely chop my celery, jalapeños minced and some of the jalapeño juice, helps me use less mayonnaise because the tomatoes have plenty of juice and the vinegar juice of the jalapeños gives it extra flavor, then I eat the mixture with saltine crackers. So Good!
I recently watched a video featuring 3 easy vegan recipes, which are perfect for those who are new to vegan cooking. The recipes are straightforward, flavorful, and require minimal prep time, making them a great starting point for anyone looking to incorporate more plant-based meals into their diet.
You can just use regular hot sauce if you're going to add butter, I like to heat butter and hot sauce in a small sauce pan while my tofu wings are cooking. You can also heat the butter in a pan with some garlic then add hot sauce if you like garlic.
Hey there, great video! Short and to the point. I am new to chick peas and bought the bulk bag where I have to hydrate. I figured it was cheaper long term this way. Do you always just use the canned ones?
I really enjoyed watching this. I've been vegan for a few months now and I haven't been eating bc I was kind of wore out with it. I feel recharged especially with the chickpea tuna. Thank you thank you thank you.
Though I'm not going vegan, I AM making an effort to eat more plant based. That chickpea salad sounds like something I want to try with my typical tuna/chicken salad recipe (avacado oil mayo, flax, mustard, garlic, cranberries. On sprouted whole wheat bread with a dill pickle slice) Added: Made it for dinner tonight. I had my doubts, but it turned out well. Not exactly the same, but close enough to sub this for tuna or chicken now and then. For the future, I just need to find some lower sodium chickpeas than what I had in the cabinet.
Definitely RANCH! I have a killer ranch recipe... Vegan mayo (I like Hellman's) with Tofutti sour cream, onion & garlic powder, powdered thyme (a must), salt & pepper! Easy peezy!!!! So delish! My nonvegan fam & friends love it too! I use as dip or salad dressing.
I am impressed with these bufallo wings! After I put the franks sauce on I put in back in for 4min on 400 degrees to absorb the sauce and I didn’t have onion powder, but it takes just like wings too just a little softer. Next time I would probably air fry for an additional 5 min after you put the sauce on to crunch up. I will make these again!!! Yayyy
I watch your videos every single time on my Apple TV, and there is no way to comment so I had to go onto my iPhone to be able to comment this. Thank you so very much for making this video and every single one of your videos and always working so hard to make them so hyper filled with knowledge
It’s important to note - vegans tend to eat a lot of gluten/wheat and sugar. I tend to stay away from wheat on a daily basis, and only eat it out once every couple months as a “treat”. I LOVE the vegan “tuna” salad. I usually add red bell peppers to mine. 😊❤
Hi Sarah , I been vegan for many years now. Was a vegetarian before. I very much like cooking Tofu with sweet peppers and Chick peas. Only issue I'm not sure of any spices to add to the Tofu?. Thanks🙂
I went vegan this year in June 13 2022 and became late year I was first a vegetarian and I was vegetarian for four years and half and I became vegan thanks you I have some great ideas to pack for lunch for school thanks you for help and give me some ideas

Hermosas recetas. Gracias también por la excelente web, me acabo de suscribir. No soy vegana, pero estoy descubriendo recetas increíbles a través de tu canal. Gran trabajo, Sarah 👏👏👏👏
I made the first one, only had sweet relish but still came out tasting very good, just finished eating the vegan tuna salad sandwich as I'm typing this. Thank you for sharing those recipes! Will definitely make more of that.
I now there's some discourse about recreating the taste of meat with vegan meals, but I just gotta say; go for it!! I know why some people might not like that, but if your a person who really likes the taste of meat, but really wants to do something about all of the negative effects that come with it through the industry, then why not for a start try to recreate that taste you liked so much. You could modify it to your likings and at the end, it's not some recreated meat anymore, bit your own personal fav vegan dish!!
You are so easy on the ears I can listen to you all day, long, best video and best food prepped ever!!! I tried your chickpea tuna my husband thought it was egg salad😎
I think Chickpea salad is really close to tuna salad. I like it. So good. I Love baked cauliflower like that. But never used the buffalo sauce. I don't do heat well. lol. Loved cauliflower since I was a kid. I love ranch. I bet they would be yummy dipped in orange sauce.

I’m allergic to raw celery even though that’s how it was made when I was a kid but my husband who is Mexican, they make tuna salad with Roma tomatoes, white onion, and jalapeños (if you like)

Definitely use an air fryer - I do! Been vegan about 7 years now and cauli wings in the air fryer are a firm favourite. I always use gram flour as it gives a really nice savoury flavour with the spices I put them in the air fryer and give a light squirt of oil, then air fry for 8 mins on 205* (hottest setting basically). Then turn them, spray some oil again and put back in for another 6 minutes. Delicious things!
Honestly I stumbled across your channel to get some ideas for Daniel Fast meals BUT I gotta say… your fresh homemade vegan cheese recipe looks amazing! And the rest of your recipes as well. I did cashew cheese once I loved it but didn’t want to keep buying store bought cheese… I appreciate all of the hard work going into your channel! I will be subscribing 🙏🏼 God bless

for our friends who have been plant-based for a while: what was your favorite meal to make when you first went vegan? hit us with the nostalgia ☺
does eating an entire box of Daiya mac and cheese with cut up Lightlife hot dogs count? 🤣
My favorite vegan meal is vegan fettuccine Alfredo 😊
Chili! so easy
Oh yes. The cheese sauce. Made it all the time!
Chili 😁
I'm not vegan but what I love about vegan meals is that they're always so colorful.

Veganism isn’t a gluten free diet. Gluten is good for you if your body isn’t intolerant to gluten.
