Not one single Slayer fan, not even the diehard fans should hate on this. King has done you all proud - and himself. And not to mention the dude is sealing his legacy beyond Slayer, which he's fully entitled to do. After all, this is his job. Could you really see King sitting down with his feet up sipping a coffee? Amen. He honored Tom's wish to "retire" Slayer from writing albums and touring. Just because Slayer is retired to a festival paycheck every so often when Tom wants it, does not mean Kerry should have to hang up his guitar. And everyone who says "this is just Slayer 2.0" - what did you expect? Kerry has been a driving force in Slayer since the beginning - this is the music he writes, of course it sounds like Slayer. I hope Kerry and company are having a blast putting out music they love and I hope Tom is enjoying his retirement from writing music and touring.
@@AlextheCrazyCatGuy Think most, if not all material on this new album was stuff written which would have gone on a new Slayer album (if it happened). Luckily King got itchy fingers and decided to keep working. Still, im looking forward to seeing Slayer thrash out at the 3 festivals later this year. Should be good.
@@Richiesead They were great in Charlotte and Atlanta on their beginning "Final World Tour" legs. The Asheville show which was the opening night of "The Final Campaign" sucked because it was in some indoor place where they couldn't use their pyro which completely killed the atmosphere when they played Hell Awaits. Enjoy the festivals!!
I actually can't imagine sitting down Tom Araya also.... I really hope Slayer will unite again. Full respect for this project.

CHEMICAL WARFARE! saw slayer at the Cabaret metro back in '85 on the Haunting the Chapel tour. I was 15 at the time and remember it like it was yesterday,40 years flew. Thanks for posting!

I was one of the lucky ones able to see this band for the first time and was really hoping that somebody caught this on video so that I can forever remember this night. What an amazing experience. I have no idea why Kerry chose Reggie's, our awesome little rock venue in Chicago, to start this new chapter, but I am forever grateful! Thank you!
I've never been a fan of Kerry King, it was always Araya and Hanneman for me, but this man loves his craft and I can respect that! Super excited for the new Album to drop!!!

Not a hater, but this isn't that good. It's just recycled and rejected Slayer riffs. Put Araya behind the mic and it'd sound like mediocre, late era Slayer. It's "Slayer-lite".

He could have at least recruited a better backing band, especially the vocalist. Mark Osgueda sounds awful and always has. Phil Demmel is mediocre and lost all credibility in my eyes with Machine Head. And the bassist from Hellyeah? HELL NO! At least Bostaph kicks ass. Best musician in the band. But claiming it's better than Slayer just proves you have shit taste in music and know next to nothing about metal.

Demmel is a great, great rhythm guitar player, but his leads are very questionable and most definitely not clean nor tight. I mean, Slayer 2.0 doesn't need a virtuoso, so he's still a great fit. I just do not understand how a professional musician could not progress in his field of expertise.

I fucking love Paul Bostaph!!! super pumped to see him playing agian, he is a super solid and very hardworking player, and you can see that in all his work. It also must be nice to have a fresh start where you dont have to hang in the coat tails of other players.
Honestly I think his drumming lacking feel or swing. It just feels so mechanical and overly technical to me. He is a good technical player and has speed but that's not everything
I think Dave Lombardo's drumming fits Kerry's riffs much better. Paul is not a bad drummer by any means; I just prefer Dave's drumming a lot more.
He went downhill last 10 years....he plays so sloppy and boring

I just like watching drummers that work hard for what they have like paul mazurkewtz or paul bostaph, joey jordison, To me that adds to them as players. Maybe its because i am the same way, i am not perfect, but i dont stop trying, so when i see these guys on that level it drives me to want to keep going.
@@ashkanmathers2957 fair enough, but i would say kerry was lucky to play with that caliber of a player honestly. i also love dave lombardo too, but this isnt slayer anymore, and i think dave is better in mr bungle nowadays, seems a better fit, especially with daves strong punk undertones.

It was already heading in that direction anyway, but Repentless is 98% a load of garbage. If he would have let Gary contribute it definitely would have been a better album. But Kerry is a total douche and didn't want to be outshined even more than he already was. Gary is LEAGUES better than Kerry. This is worse than that crap album.
