So good. Can’t say much more. Just hearing the intro have me chills, and he has Dave Sanborn on sax here. In the concert in Central Park he has Michael Brecker(RIP)
That was absolutely superb. One of Paul Simon's most poignant and beautiful songs, and in my opinion written at the very peak of his songwriting ability. Thanks for posting
I met my old lover on the street last night She seemed so glad to see me,I just smiled And we talked about some old times and we drank ourselves some beers Still crazy after all these years, still crazy after all these years I'm not the kind of man who tends to socialize I seem to lean on old familiar ways And I ain't no fool for love songs that whisper in my ears Four in the morning, crapped out, yawning, 오전 4시, 포기하고, 하품하고, longing my life away 긴 인생이 빨리 지나가기를 바라지 I never worry, why should I, it's all gonna fade
@Jonathan K I have been a songwriter for decades and have looked plenty hard all that time. There are good songs being written, but nothing nearly as sophisticated as this.
That's a young David Sanborn on sax. Paul definitely not pissed at his playing. Jerry Niewood was on the studio version but Sanborn pinches out some nice soul play over the strings here and pulls it off perfectly.
@jerryitus Oh yeah. I noticed Paul not only looked annoyed but he shookhis head after the sax solo and during the last chorus when the sax came in Paul briefly turned his head in the sax player's direction and glared at him.
It still wasn't a fitting solo at all. It completely ignored the climax of the harmonies starting at 2:34. It's definitely the worst Still crazy sax solo I've seen so far.
Wow, what a nice addition to my collection! David Sanborn is outstanding as ever, even with that Roseanne Roseannadanna hairdo of his. :o) Thanks for posting for this for the masses!
Exquisitely handsome, Richard Tee is wonderful musical complement. Magical song. Paul Simon is the Mozart of his generation. Big beautiful soul!
“We’re on a five but don’t get lost.” - Notorious hardass Paul Simon
Sanborn ! What a player !
A work of art!!
The late great Richard Tee playing the phasered-out Fender Rhodes. Simply the shizznittt...
That Rhodes is a time machine. I am instantly transported to my childhood. Love it love it love it.
I love all of Paul’s music. Always sharing a story in song Always magnificent. Thank you. I appreciate 💕
God bless you Paul Simon…thank you so very much.
This voice like velvet...love it!
Flawless velvet ❤️
So good. Can’t say much more. Just hearing the intro have me chills, and he has Dave Sanborn on sax here. In the concert in Central Park he has Michael Brecker(RIP)
And Sanborn too has in the meanwhile left us :(
That was absolutely superb. One of Paul Simon's most poignant and beautiful songs, and in my opinion written at the very peak of his songwriting ability. Thanks for posting
Sensational. The album version is great, but IMO this one has it beat - especially the outstanding solo from David Sanborn. Classic.
"I just smiled."
Omg this is wonderful
BAD ASS...
Another great performance.
Looks like him!
Speakin of sax players, that sax solo is sweet!
My signature song.
Rip David Sanborn 😢
I met my old lover on the street last night
She seemed so glad to see me,I just smiled
And we talked about some old times and we drank ourselves some beers
Still crazy after all these years, still crazy after all these years
I'm not the kind of man who tends to socialize
I seem to lean on old familiar ways
And I ain't no fool for love songs that whisper in my ears
Four in the morning, crapped out, yawning,
longing my life away
I never worry, why should I, it's all gonna fade
Now I sit by my window And I watch the cars
I fear I'll do some damage One fine day
But I would not be convicted By a jury of my peers
Thank you for posting this Exceptional video. Perfect.
Richard Tee on Rhodes is like Billy Preston on Hammond Organ or Jaco on a Fender Fretless, some things are just meant to be...
Happy 70th, Paul!
gracias por subir este tema

I’m afraid they don’t make songs like this anymore. I look everywhere, and I just can’t find it.
I do
@Jonathan K I have been a songwriter for decades and have looked plenty hard all that time. There are good songs being written, but nothing nearly as sophisticated as this.
My friends dad Hugh Mckraken on that strat?
That horn player sounds like the horn, in the SNL Band.
TX a lot 4 posting this
The real Rhodes sound. Why didn't they make the mk7 sound this good? Fail.
+vistacruiser70s Richard Tee, died too early
Hands down one of the most versatile keyboards ever invented. Thank you Harold Burroughs Rhodes(1910-2000)...Respect.
Sanborn is the star performer on this track.
Where's the version with him singing this song in a turkey suit on SNL? Anyway, Happy Birthday, Paul, and many more!
Ive been looking for that for years......I love that
It used to be here many years ago, but I haven't seen it in a long time. Could be copy write issues took it off you tube and keep it off.
It's on the SNL channel last I checked.
i'm a couple years late but here it is th-cam.com/video/lYJTq75vc5c/w-d-xo.html
I love the Michael Brecker solo, but you can't beat David Sanborn for unadulterated soul
RIP Phil Ramone
"Crapped out" is the line that took this out of the Great American Songbook. Too bad. Guh.
i wish i could find Paul Simon songs that not live
That's a young David Sanborn on sax. Paul definitely not pissed at his playing. Jerry Niewood was on the studio version but Sanborn pinches out some nice soul play over the strings here and pulls it off perfectly.
Tony Schopp Sorry but it was the late great Michael Brecker on the studio version; his solo became a "classic".
i like the SNL version also, maybe better but this is great
it fits buddy
Simon: Ok we"re on a five, don't get lost!
Some prick: Ok we"re on a five, don't get lost!
Simon face: 😒
Ever green
They had to take 5 to drink themselves some beers
the question is...is who wrote the saxophone ?
It is Eddie Daniels.
@jerryitus Oh yeah. I noticed Paul not only looked annoyed but he shookhis head after the sax solo and during the last chorus when the sax came in Paul briefly turned his head in the sax player's direction and glared at him.
@jerryitus haha, ya he doesn't seem to like how that whole thing went.
Is it just me, or does Paul look pissed after the sax solo...?
@Dinosax69 hey, David knows he's a sexy beast back then, the chicks then just dig a funky white dude with a fro and that can jam on sax!
@jerryitus yaa, he hired Brecker after this
it doesn't fit buddy (I'm writing this so you can see how helpful your comment is to this discussion)
umm...well
lol, Paul did not like that sax player
I think Paul is lip synching on this performance to a pre recorded vocal track
Nope, the singing itself differs too much from the recorded version.
Paul Simon would never do lip singing. A true legend when it comes to live performing.
No way he’s lip synching or would even entertain such an idea. Sorry
It still wasn't a fitting solo at all. It completely ignored the climax of the harmonies starting at 2:34. It's definitely the worst Still crazy sax solo I've seen so far.
It was a pompous solo, but I still liked it. You can tell Paul didn’t like it lol. Only better solo IMO was the 1980 Philly performance.
Paul Simon fired the sax player immediatly afterwards
Wow, what a nice addition to my collection! David Sanborn is outstanding as ever, even with that Roseanne Roseannadanna hairdo of his. :o) Thanks for posting for this for the masses!
