I played with this racket last week. i really enjoyed playing with the new Extreme Tour. I preferred it over the Ezone 98 and it was just about as whippy and aggressive as the Pure Aero VS. But it had a little better feel than both the Ezone 98 and Pure Aero VS. I'm going to pick one up.
Next generation of Head racquets better be gorgeous - they need to compete now with Wilson's amazing chameleon paint jobs. Those things are a thing of beauty. Grish being his usual merch-tease. Areg being his usual god-like self (in the *new* barricades?)
That's definitely a bar set high by Wilson. Especially if you compare them to the previous paint jobs 🥴 Hahaha just trying to be consistent 😂 Nope, not the barricades 😉
I personally love the current Auxetic paintjobs more than any previous racquet from Head. Speed, Boom, altough I prefered 360+ for Radical. But it's true Wilson went from 0 to hero with the current gen.
I have been playing a few years with the previous 360+ version. Weighted up to a 332 swingweight and it shines. Great frame. I spent a few days with the new Auxetic Tour at the same custom SW and saw no need to switch from my current frames. Not impressed. I have heard the new Auxetic Extreme MP is a huge improvement from the previous frame. Great content as always guys.
Great to see the glads back. I’ve also tested the new extreme tour. Like you said, it feels very demanding. You have to hit the small sweet spot to get the racquet going. Even my coach said it’s very demanding. Never heard that word from him when I gave him my demo.
It was the same with the 360+ version. It lacks plow and stability, but if you add too much weight in the head, the racquet is kinda pointless because u loose lots of maneuverability then.. I've tried it with a stiff poly and leather grip and it was very uncomfortable...
Grisha, that ball rolling on the court at 2:40 gave me such anxiety ahahhaha....but then I remembered if you had gotten injured, it probably wouldn't have been posted lol.
Areg's turn around smash and slowball pass were 🤯 plus he survived an assassination attempt from close quarters 😄 so it's a clear 10 out of 10 😌 and while I'm here I'm so hoping to see Ez98 Tour some time soon here 🙏
After hearing a lot of positives and hype about the Extreme Tour I had the same exact problems when I tried an Auxetic, I disliked the flex it had, was not able to predict what was going to come out of each shot and I it didn't feel stable enough either. Still searching for a high spin low power frame with a consistent stringbed!
This is the best platform racket to have ever existed. The head grommet comes off/on really easy too if you want to hide the lead. Feel is great, spin is good, control is good, beam is thick enough in the right places. Just a great stick
This is a great racket for people with large strokes during putaway forehands and for serves. it's fun and maneuverable, and you can add a lot of spin. If I see an easy ball hit towards me, I feel like I can put it anywhere I want. But it lacks stability on hard shots and at the net. I feel like i cannot hit a volley with this racket, and defense shots tend to be hit or miss depending on my form. I could recommend it to players who play for fun, but not for 4.5+ tournament players who need to be able to hit every kind of shot.
Nice review glads! T-shirt looks cool too. Will you review the new Prince ATS Tour 310? It's similar to a Pure Strike 100 but more likeable and charecterful.........
Also, I would have given the spin a "9". Clearly more spin than the Ezone 98. I have a Pure Aero, Pure Aero VS and Pure Aero 98 and the Extreme Tour hangs right there with those rackets in the spin department. A little less power but a nicer, plusher feel when hitting the ball. I would have give comfort an "8". Maybe give power a "7" or "7.5". It's more a control/spin racket than a power racket IMO.
I liked the first gen but it needed weight to be usable--so much that it didn't seem worth the effort. Have heard that this one is the same. (Have instead switched to the new Tecnifibre ISO TFight 305, which doesn't need any adjustments and is a generally amazing frame.)
Friend, how can I make this racket a more powerful and stable racket? Obviously adding weight, the swingweight is low in my opinion, I feel like the air slows down the racket. But at the same time I want stability and swing speed in the head extreme tour. Adding a lot of weight at 12 o'clock starts to vibrate a lot, even with an anti-vibrator. If I put six grams at 12 o'clock, how much counterweight should I put on the grip? Or rather, what could I do to achieve what I mentioned I'm looking for in the racket? I would appreciate if you can help me
Nice! As a 360+ Pro and 360+ Tour user i hoped the Auxetic Tour upgrade isn't worth it. So i pulled the trigger on the Auxetic Extreme MP. Have been hitting only two sessions, but i am very impressed. It's easy to swing and has about the same control but more spin than the 360+ Pro. Despite that it feels more stable than i expected. Tightening the stringbed on the MP was a very good move and i think Areg might like this stick. Hopefully u gonna review the MP version!
I agree....I got the mp and love it....its has a higher swingweight than the tour and 100sq is a bit more forgiving whilst static weight is only 5g less. There's plenty of power and spin on offer and I may also go higher with my tension to see where the best control compromise is...I'm at 50lbs with a full bed of yonex poly tour pro but I think 55lbs could work even better for the occasions when you need to flatten out.
@@MaiTizzle for 30 years I've used prestiges, and I tried the gravities recently but I'm 54 now and trying to compete with some decent players so I've made a pretty big change and I'm enjoying it ......it helps my discipline because the more open pattern, higher stiffness and wider beam mean I cannot hit as flat as before....so it encourages me to hit with more spin and helps me by being maneuverable. I've only had 3 sessions with it and it will take time but I think I'm on the right path.
@@gladiatorstribe Hey I freakin love watching you guys (only Grisha and Areg - too many cooks in the kitchen, spoil the soup lol) playing tournaments and events. You guys mess around like crazy during practice but play serious during matches. Can you post more vids of you guys competing. You two are really talented and I love how much you kick ass but when you lose, it's nice to see those moments too.
Can confirm what Grisha said at the end is 100% true. The G360+ version of the ET blows the new Auxetic version out of the water. New one isn’t bad, it’s fairly good, it just doesn’t come close to the previous edition, IMO. I wouldn’t switch if I’m a user of the last gen. If anything, take advantage of sale price and stock up before the G360+’s are all gone. Lastly, the Extreme Tour plays phenomenal with weight. It almost needs it, in fact, the racket should include lead tape on the side when purchased, lol. Great review, glads!
Friends, I have tried different strings, tensions and everything on the head 360+ extreme tour. But something happens, it is difficult for me to accelerate the ball on the right side, since they are supposedly similar, I feel that when I played with Yonex vcore 98 I had a greater ability to accelerate the ball. I assume this is due to the low swingweight of the extreme. On the other hand, my acceleration on the right is based on a lot of wrist with a heavier grip, I changed the factory grip for a lighter one, from 305 grams it started to weigh 301. To lower the HL points and make it a racket with greater head acceleration, would it be an option to add 5.6 grams to the head of the racket? I listen to your advice. I want this racket to be like the yonex vcore of 2018. I would appreciate your help.
Thanks guys another great review! I just can't get over the colors 👎 lemon and 🤮 puke green lol 😅 I'm out on this one!! Thanks 🙏 appreciate love you guys ❤️🎾
I had the previous gen Extreme Tour. It was AWFUL! One of the worst racquets I have ever owned. Flimsy, unstable, terrible for blocking big serves, no finishing power, like playing with plastic fly swatter and with a wide open string pattern that lacks directional precision. Even with some lead tweaks the racquet was garbage.
Auxetic is garbage. Almost as bad as the horrendous Graphene they put in their racquets. Head racquets are junk these days (I've owned probably 25-30 of them since the days of the iPrestige including last years Extreme Tour and this year's Auxetic Prestige).
dudes are actually testing multiple racquets in the same session, admittedly in bad weather and are making reviews on it 🥴0 interest in racquets, just want the views lol
Glad to see the glads back (pun intended but its so bad 😅). Definitely helps to hear different voices for this racquet. Was wondering how would you guys compare this to the previous version. I know Grisha liked the previous version more, but it would be nice to see how and where do you guys like the previous gen more. I am actually considering buying the previous version instead with the discount, switched to boom pro now, liking these 98in power frames a lot, have to say good bye to gravity 🥲.
Hahahahaha I see what you did there 😂 Well, the previous one has a better feel and better stability. Also almost seems like the sweet spot is larger. Oh no! Gravity 😢😂
@@gladiatorstribe Yeah idk is it the auxetic tech or just the boom, can’t play well with gravity tour nor the previous speed pro afterwards😢. So you felt the sweet spot is larger for previous version of the extreme tour? Sounds like I can place my order now 😂😂. Just a little curious on the previous videos, it sounded that you liked the previous 360+ speed pro with a little flaw on the serves but it ended up with only a 7.7 overall grade, this one it sounded like you didn’t like it at all but ended up with a 7.6 so just a little confused here 😅.
