In the section "Robot Rules" it says: "Important note about cache plugins" suggesting to disable page caching. Have you disabled "Page caching" in WP rocket as suggested in the plugin Black Hole? I would rather not, because this would impact the speed. So I wonder if you did that or you are using it without disabling the page caching? Thanks, Angel
Great video, thanks Bjorn! If my website traffic goes via a cdn like cloudflare I won't need that plugin, right? Because I think I saw in my cloudflare stats "X bytes bandwith saved". But still, if this is the case (that a cdn filters the bad bots) the plugin would still be a good solution for a site without a cdn.
Thanks for Blackhole for Bad Bots plugin! Got it and installed immediately! Lifetime pro is really reasonable, too! I can't get AWStats to display so my permissions must be wrong. Do you know how I can check this without going through hosting techs? They're really busy right now and I like to try first, myself.
I'm certain that 20,000 people a day are checking in to my website to decide whether or not they will finally make my embedded TH-cam videos go viral. lol, I wish I could believe that to be true. I'll be doing this for sure!

Hi Miguel, I believe Wordfence has the blackhole functionality built-in, WebARX doesn't as far as I know and I'm not sure about iThemes Security Pro either. Hi Jeff, . Good question, I'm not 100% certain. Wordfence has a lot of great features so I wouldn't be surprised if something like this was built into it.
My logs show extensive requests coming in while Wordfence (free) is running. I assume WordFence is blocking access, but it may be less drain on server resources if the bot is kicked out when it starts. I don't bother with IP blocking because my attackers seem to run constant IP changers and just continue trying.
Hi Bjorn, have you noticed a change in your users' traffic? Does this plugin risk affecting good users or good bots? I was asking myself that while waiting for a change in analytics statistics. Greetings.
I've been using this plugin for almost a year and I have noticed any decrease in site speed or visitorship. The big advantage is that page builders allow you to create great looking pages quickly and easily without knowing any HTML, CSS or JavaScript. The big downside is that any page builder-created page will be larger in size than if you code the page yourself. Which will make it take longer to load. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Nope as this just tackles bots. WordFence offers so much more. For instance you can lock down your admin login to your IP Address only or chosen IP Addresses so only you can change site/settings etc. There are many other benefits to WordFence. I have a number of clients on a reseller account but not on SiteGround. I don't have any clients with SSL yet but need to sort out a good place to host them as my present supplier will charge £100+VAT (20%) to provide static IP and also install an SSL. You cannot use the plugin without disabling caching, which kinda makes it useless imo if you are concerned about speed
