@@washburn11000 The NBA in the 1990s was so bad and unprofessional. Players in the '90s even missed free throws. They would lose 0-200 against today's NBA teams
Nearly a half century...Still one of the greatest collapses in NBA history, yes the Warriors in 2016 NBA Finals blowing a 3-1 lead but when you're up by 6 (Knicks) & choke in the end...that & Reggie Miller did it at the garden...Priceless.
I was a student at Purdue. I turned off the TV before the game ended since I knew Pacers would lose for sure. Then a friend called and told me Pacers won! Unbelievable!
SportsCenter used to be this good...back when it was all sports...and competition and great games and fun commentary...and Olbermann was a relatively sane individual.
“John Starks trying to push Reggie towards a TV career” 🤣🤣🤣 where is this charm today? Now it’s just a bunch of washed up athletes with no personalities covering these games some times.
those weren't Basketball games, those were 5 man Football...and that's just the Pacers and Knicks. the Bad Boys lurked around the corner ready to concuss anyone driving to the Bucket, especially MJ. LeBrainless isn't even close to being a top 25 player in that era.
I agree Curry is better in the regular season but Reggie is much better in the Playoffs. The year Curry won without Durant the MVP in the finals was Andre Iguodala which showed how badly he played in the finals. Reggie would have definitely won MVP had Indiana beaten the Lakers.
I was watching the whole game, went to the bathroom with the Knicks up 6 and less than 20 seconds, came out and my dad told me the lost. I thought he was joking.
Let's face reality, Ewing could never really dominate when it really counted. That's why NY never got the Championship. On paper, you might think there's not much difference between him and Shaq, Kareem, Chamberlain, Russel...heck, Alajuwon deserves better recognition... but the difference on performing with the game on the line in the 4th quarter is as wide as the Grand Canyon.
Starks misses 2 free throws, then Ewing misses an easy jumper. LOL. Then they foul Miller 65 feet away from the basket. LOL. What a Choke. The knicks never recovered from losing this series.
my all-time favorite male athletes/jocks ever are were + or will be #1 tied wilt chamberlain + bill russell #2 kareem abdul-jabbar + #3 hakeem olajuwon
Reggie miller vs Spike Lee will forever be Legendary 🙌🙌
Pushed him to a tv career alright haha
Worked out pretty well lol
The commentary is 🔥🔥 "Rick Smits WITHOUT authority!" 😂😂😂😂
Jch Hch I was just checking to see if someone commented it already
Back when Sports Center was fun to watch.
And when the NBA was better...
Even the commercials were good

Great memories for Pacer fans...couldn't believe it watching it unfold in real time...Reggie will always be Legendary in Indy!
Miss these playoff games and THIS NBA! The 90s.
best memories in basketball for me came between the years of 95 - 05...best decade of basketball so far

that was game 1.... there have been bigger in game chokes

NBA on NBC. Those were the days.
God I remember watching this game live on TV. I absolutely loved Reggie as a kid. This game was so exciting.
Both teams fans at watching their team foul: “Why are you fouling?! The game is tied!!” 😑😑😂😂
SportsCenter used to be this good...back when it was all sports...and competition and great games and fun commentary...and Olbermann was a relatively sane individual.
Good old days of Sportscenter
“John Starks trying to push Reggie towards a TV career” 🤣🤣🤣 where is this charm today? Now it’s just a bunch of washed up athletes with no personalities covering these games some times.
except Charles Barkley !
Both these guys have interesting stories about what led to them leaving ESPN. Keith Oblermann and Dan Patrick for those who don’t know.
1:03 Foreshadowing of Reggie's future career. Nice.
This was one of the greatest moments in nba history.
I grew up in Chicagoland during the 90's, but I always loved seeing Reggie rip out Spike Lee's heart! He got game!
Man Keith olberrman is still working at espn, time flies
I remember watching that game! I was “blown away by Miller in those last seconds”
Listened to this on a radio with a bunch of kids at the Grand Prospect Hall in Brooklyn. No 10 year old should have to deal with heartbreak that way.
Reggie Miller is the epitome of "It's not where you start, but where you finish that counts".
At least Tracy McGrady doing this to my Spurs happened in the Regular Season.
I miss these playoff games and nba miss the 90s
The 90s commentary 😂😂😂😂
Damn this man is underrated
"trying to push Miller against a tv career" well done sir!
I remember watching this live as a lil kid. Reggie a legend
One of the best shooters in the NBA.
Fun Fact, Indiana Pacers Point guard Mark Jackson led St. John's to their only Final Four in 1984 against Georgetown led by Patrick Ewing
Who’s here after Trae young’s game winner against Knicks in playoffs
Not even remotel the same.
@@doublecell966 Still though

shooter's dream in the pre-Steph era
Pretty much any team vs the Knicks at playoffs was fun to watch in the mid 90s. Especially the Pacers and Alonzo Mourning and the miami Heat too!
wish we still had these guys at espn😕
Watching that reminds me of when basketball looked like basketball.

Best clutch 3 point shooter ever and top 5 clutch players ever.
My favourite sequence in NBA history. Crazy how Reggie did it, unbelievable really but he did it
My second favorite sequence in NBA history is 3-points dual between Miller and Shaw/Hardaway concluded with Rik Smits' buzzer beater in next round.
Reggie said “we’re loosey goosey all the pressure’s on them” 😩😂💯
Can we use this video as proof that today's NBA has become soft? They were taking shots back and forth all game. This was 90s basketball.
That commentary was gold
Back when they didnt spoil the highlight

Another example of Olbermann's brilliance as a sports commentator.
Oh, and Reggie is pretty good too.
A true legend. Greatest shooter behind Ray Allen who he paved the way for
1:18 wait a minute come here larry!...
Ref was miked up and I didn’t notice
This shut Spike Lee up. Still silent to this day.
Reggie Miller had a great historic career
@1:43 Reggie got away with a blatant foul on Greg Anthony. Still an impressive scenario regardless.
Does not matter. Knick threw the game away when they miss two free throw.
When it comes to NBA Playoffs I'll take Reggie over Curry anytime, any day
you sir are a smart man!

Them Knicks Pacers games was classic.
Even tho Jordan was the greatest I agree that the pacers vs knicks games were the best to watch.
That was basketball man...that was the true basketball!a man's play!!!!
Olbermann is what NBA on ESPN needs!
Reggie called the knicks a bunch of choke artists before the next game. The smack was so awesome back in the 90s.
This commentary is golden

Reggie went straight ATM on NYC yet again... thang of beauty
0:17 blitzkrieg-comeback, thanks ESPN for expanding my vocabulary...
Keith Olbermann looks so young, good times. Reggie Miller is the GOAT!!!
They should do a Retro Night. 90's style everything. 🏀

'95 Keith Olbermann looks like Keith Olbermann wearing a Mel Kiper wig.
Keith Olbermann: "If any team has ever actually done this, the Knicks are drooling the drool of regret into the pillow of remorse."
Watched this game with my mom!!!!
Remember 1995 Game 1 pacers Knicks Reggie Miller shoving Greg Anthony down scored 8 points in 9 seconds unbelievable game
Anthony tripped bro!!😂😂
So we're just gonna ignore how Rick Smits completely dominated Patrick Ewing ? Lol
How is 90’s quality better than 00’s
Reggie Miller was the shiiiiiiiitt..
Knicks chocked that away at least 3 times
Lmao
Back when basketball mattered
Red WHITE = “80” = 🇵🇪 Peru
Just found out Rik Smits had 34 points wheres Stone Cold Steve Austin when you need him
I remember back in 02 I beat Kobe in 1v1 at the YMCA in Malibu. He got mad, I smacked the shit outta him then we drank Gatorade after and ate doritos
