When Chris Cornell did a solo project, he put his name on it. Good or bad. Wasn't thrilled with Scream, but Euphoria Morning, Carry On and Higher Truth were good records. When he was with Soundgarden, Audioslave or Temple of the Dog, it's clear those were albums a band made- not just Cornell. Not the first time Corgan showed he just doesn't get it. Smashing Pumpkins had a great run in the 1990s, but since??? Wholly disappointed. At least Soundgarden did King Animal, which was pretty good material. If Cornell hadn't died 3 years ago, I'm sure another Soundgarden album (or 2) of new material would have been released by now. Seems like Vicky is the one holding those things up.
King Animal is a good record. Those guys set a standard for themselves and never failed to reach it, even until the end. Seems like SG should be the last band anyone calls out for a cash grab. If you give your fans high quality product, you've earned it.
Going back and revisiting the Smashing Pumpkins, I've decided it really comes down to the early stuff. Gish was a great record as was most of Siamese Dream, but the rest of the stuff hasn't dated well for me. I like them best when it's just heavy strat riffs through big muff pedals and can do without the whiny alt-pop ballads. Soundgarden has a much better discography with a lot of growth IMO.
@@robwalsh9843 Agreed. I'd add Mellon Collie, but I could see ppl thinking it's self indulgent. At their peak, SP were very good. But realistically nowhere near SG.
Evolve doesn't mean change for it's own sake. That's called contrived. Soundgarden is a band, not a vehicle for a singer....to me that's why the Vicky stuff is disappointing because most SG material is credited to SG or mostly 2 members at least.
No misunderstanding whatsoever. He clearly has felt jealousy of other artist and tends to be passive aggressive which is in his nature to kind of take subtle jabs at other 90's artist seeing how successful they have continued to be post 90's, and Billy who has always declared himself to be competitive, can't stand to see others in his era do better.
@@mikek8718 His voice live is not great I agree but in the studio when he's actually trying and not screaming he has a very good voice. Its definitely odd and not your classical voice but on slower songs it's quite nice. Then again I have a thing for weird singers. I don't know if you've heard of "Thursday" but their lead singers name is Geoff Rickley and his band members called him tone deaf Geoff, lol. Nice guys.
Billy Corgan is a very interesting guy, because I used to just straight-up hate him, hated his music and image, but he's capable of great insight frequently and does show contrition for being a shit at times. He's a supervillain of rock, and great at it.
The idea that Cornell prancing about the stage holds a candle to Corgan screaming out Quiet while simultaneously nailing the monster riff is oblivious in the extreme.

Chris was beautiful inside and out. A kind man with deep wisdom. You can tell by listening to his songs. Billy, on the other side, is an egomaniac with a handful of talent.
As a fan who was too young to see them live, I was pumped to catch SG playing their old stuff on the 2010 tour. Missed the Pavement reunion but would've loved that too. Billy, stop telling the fans what we want to here. Because it isn't Zwan.
So someone who continues to put out new albums every 2 years and doesnt repeat himself by putting out the same album like foo fighters , decides to celebrate their biggest album by doing a 25 yr anniversary tour shortly after they just finished touring on their latest album which will then tour again on another new album.. clearly you dont know what your talking about and you dont know what billy is talking about cause your way off. His peers ate only doing their old shit. Smashing pumpkins have put out 5 albums since 2005 and toured on them all
I am a massive SP fan, and by massive I mean I literally listen to them at least once a day and can name every song by ear off their 90s albums. Billy Corgan is one of my top 3 favorite guitar players. With that being said, I would absolutely NOT want to meet him, EVER. It's so painfully obvious that he has a sort of jealousy that he wasn't the Kurt Cobain of the 90s. He calls out Collective Soul over their song "Shine" and gets proven wrong that they didn't copy his song and still to this day despises them lmao. If he had kept his mouth shut instead of feuding with everyone and showing off his massive ego, I truly believe he would be put up there with Kurt and Chris..
@Christopher Bingham No where near Chris or Kurt? Have you ever listened to 90’s smashing pumpkins ? They had the best selling indie record Gish of all time. Mellon Collie is one of the best selling double albums of all time. It’s a masterpiece. Billy is a rock genius and legend . As a singer no where near Kurt or Chris , agree there. But his songwriting and guitarist talents are otherworldly . He had a big ego and can be a prick , but come on man, he’s up there on their level for sure .
@Christopher Bingham I can tell you don't listen to SP saying none of the bands are up their with Soundgarden lmao. SP was more complex than every single Seattle band LOL...
@Christopher Bingham The fact that you think every SP song is in 4/4 and the fact that you think a song's time signature is any indication of how complex it is tells me all I need to know. Good day. Edit: I don't think anyone with a functioning set of ears thinks Billy has ever been a better singer than Chris.
Oh, that feud went waaaaay further back. This is from SPIN in 1994: In the lobby bar of one of the tallest hotels, Cornell and Thayil are settling back with a couple of beers when Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins wanders through, and decides to join them for a strawberry margarita. Corgan chatters about the pain of his life, the supposed incompetence of his band (everybody rolls their eyes), the lifesaving virtues of Jungian therapy, bands that suck. Cornell gets up to leave. Corgan tells Thayil how important Soundgarden used to be to him, and he baits him by saying that the Pumpkins sometimes do a cover of Soundgarden’s “Outshined” that segues into a Depeche Mode song or something. “I’m think of making my next album really new wave,” Corgan says, “like ’83-’84 new wave, not like Berlin. I spend all my time doing things that may be a bit tangential, but I think I’m going to go back to the core, the heart music. Echo and the Bunnymen.” This is standard stuff to anybody who has read even a single Billy Corgan profile, the basic curriculum of Pumpkins 101. But Thayil isn’t buying. He’s sore. “Don’t you see,” Thayil says, “you’re this incredibly talented guy. People like your music. You have a good band. You sell a lot of records. You don’t need all this…stuff.” “What sign are you?” Corgan asks. “What do you mean, what sign am I?” Thayil says. “What difference could that possibly make?” “C’mon,” wheedles Corgan, “when is your birthday?” “All right, goddamn it: September 4th.” “Aha!” Corgan says. “A Virgo. You’re argumentative.” “Damn right, I’m argumentative,” Thayil says, and takes a long, angry pull at his beer, “which you should know because I’ve been arguing with you for half an hour, not because of any sign.” “I’m a Pisces,” Corgan replies. “We pick up on those things.” A minute later, Corgan, still probing, finally finds the key to Thayil’s heart: “I hate how in magazine pictures, they always stick me somewhere in the back.” Thayil explodes: “What do you mean? You write all the songs, and you do all the interviews. You play the instruments on the album. You control the band to the extent that most people think of Smashing Pumpkins as the Billy Corgan Experience, and all you care about is some photography?” “But I hate it,” Corgan says, “it means they don’t think I’m the cute one.” “Ooh,” Thayil says a little too loudly as Corgan walks away, “I’ll bet he’s going to call his therapist in Chicago, wake her up at four in the morning, and tell her about that big, mean bear who made fun of him.” The next day at the Big Day Out festival, Thayil is talking to Kim and Kelley Deal in the Breeders’ dressing room when Corgan walks past wearing a long-sleeved Superman T-shirt like the one your four-year-old nephew probably owns. “You hurt me deeply,” Corgan says, touching the giant S on his chest and pouting. “You hurt me deeply in my heart.” The Pumpkins go on to play the best set anybody has ever heard them play, their usual passiveness and precision overlaid with an unfamiliar scrim of anger that throws their music into brilliant relief. Matt Cameron is a little astounded. “Kim should rent himself out as a tour shrink,” he says. Link: www.spin.com/2017/05/soundgarden-1994-cover-story/
I happened to have been there when the exchanges in this article took place. I swear to God if I hadn't have been there and didn't know better and then read this article... I know for a fact I would think it was totally made up, and would insult the writer for assuming his readers would buy into that such a ridiculous exchange actually occurred. But no no, I can assure you that's exactly how the conversations went down and that's exactly how Billy Corgan really is. My only criticism of the article is I don't think it quite does justice to just how effortlessly Thayil always managed to be the coolest person out of the entire Seattle scene.
There was also a colorful incident between Billy Corgan and Kim Thayil backstage in Australia that made it into a Spin article on Soundgarden that would have been worth a mention here. Corgan was trying to be chummy with Kim, making small talk that led to BC bringing up astrology to an already annoyed KT BC: "oh, you're a virgo, so your argumentative" KT's reply was something like "yeah I'm argumentative, and you're pissing me off" BC then stopped by Soundgarden dressing room and told Kim he was hurt deep in his heart by what Kim had said, before going on stage and playing what might have been the best pumpkins set of the tour the Big Day Out tour.
Yep i still have that mag. And yeah, wished it was mentioned in this story. They all almost died on that flight to Australia. Anyways Billy whines too much.
Smashing Pumpkins is Billy. The new SM stuff sounds more like his solo work in the 2000s than any of the previous Pumpkin's stuff. I didn't think of Zeitgeist as much of a reunion, but it was a great album - one of his best.
@Yash Dwivedi For my money, I’ll take Siamese Dream. But obviously, this is subjective. That said, it’s a case of apples and oranges. BC wrote all of Siamese Dream except two tracks Iha cowrote. While CC wrote most of the lyrics for BMF, he only wrote the music for 4 of the 12 songs on his own, while cowriting 2 others. As for musicianship, Billy is a better guitarist (than Cornell; Thayil would be a fair fight). Finally, while I was very disappointed with the direction of Adore, its sure better than that Timbaland album!
Yeah and Billy went on and recorded albums where he was the only original member. Soundgarden didn't have all original members but Cameron and Shepherd were part of there biggest albums. It took Billy how long to get 2 of the original members to rejoin the band?
i love billy corgan, met him, and I think he is a genuine person. who in the music world doesn't have ego? how can you not in that world? props to him for regretting any feud he had with Chris.
Funny thing about that, is they're both nostalgia bands. I am a big fan of both, and imo, nobody really cares too much about new albums. Everybody wants to hear the old albums from both of those bands. That's what made them who they are.
When Billy refused to play in Houston in the 90's we coined this ditty (to the tune of Bullet with Butterfly Wings) "despite all my fame, I am still just a brat in a rage"
Billy corgan is great. Having said that, Chris Cornell was right about everything. And the irony of it all is that in 2020 smashing pumpkins became a nostalgia act.
I’ve seen Soundgardern three times as a comeback run as Billy put it. I’ve seen old footage and bootlegs of Soundgarden all through the 90s, I was always bummed I couldn’t catch them live then. Anyone who seen them in the 90s and then after 2010 can attest the Band as a whole sounded amazing during the “comeback” tours. It’s funny how Billy basically said bands coming back for a tour after years apart are doing it for the money, no shit Billy it’s a job. I think he was pissed cuz he basically did a cover band without Iha and Darcy and Chris called him out on it.
Yes!!! He replaced one asian guitarist with another asian guitarist, and swapped one baby doll dressing bass player with another baby doll dressing bass player (not talkin about Melissa Auf something). 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I always enjoy your channel wether it's about a band I don't care for, don't know or know well. You do a great job on research (on the ones I know I can confirm at least) and delivery. And I can't even hear a Canadian accent, not the South Park version anyway. But they were right about Kanye though, right?
Any point in digging up beef from 8 years ago? Soundgarden and SP are my two favourite bands. Let’s respect Chris’s incredible legacy but also respect that people say things that they regret, and people change. Billy Corgan has spoken numerous times on this and compared to 8 years ago, clearly has a much more positive outlook on life - both personally and musically
Kurt, Trent, and Billy were all in a love triangle,...and i love the Pumpkins, Billy dated Kourtney before Kurt, but she had him offed...im not sure Billy is so innocent..
The end sums it all up for Dill Bill. Vicky won't release music to the band members that Chris was collaborating on for the love of music and legacy of Chris as well for the band that gave him a name Soundgarden. Vickey get your priorities straight fans have invested a lot of years with these great guys give the fans what we deserve. BTW Billy is jealous and will never be on the same level as Chris or Soundgarden.
Smashing Corgans are a good band with some good songs that I like, Soundgarden is the best band ever with dozens of songs I can’t live without. Billy Bad Ass has feuds with everyone from this planet, Chris was a genuinely nice person. Why are we without Chris and still stuck with Corgan? They always told me life wasn’t fair but ffs.
I wonder how quickly Billy was cut once he started throwing those stones from inside his glass house. I remember the press release, THE most pompous, aarogant piece of propaganda to not come from a politician that was the Pumpkins's announcement when Corgan said he was "tired of fighting the good fight against the Britney Spears's of the world" and was calling it quits. Then he went and did Zwan. I liked the Pumpkins for a while in the early to mid 90s, but Corgan thinks himself as some intellectual messiah, too smart for the room, too proud to admit being wrong. Even his halfass comment after Cornell's death was more about him and his potential impact on Chris than about Chris himself.
is there a band that smashing pumpkins didn’t have feuds with in the 90’s? they seem to be alienating, one way or another. that’s one thing i love so much about them.
My favorite scene in 'the irishman' comes to mind, when the mob boss(bufalino) and the irishman(sheerhan) are in prison at the end, after killing Hoffa and in turn relegating their lives to living in a cage. He smiles and says "jimmy had a nice family, didn't he?" ......"ah, fuck it, i chose us Frank" - its like these flawed humans in competitive fields get so caught up in it, they actually hurt people they like to "win" but when all is said and done, the price is remorse
I remember that time, Billy was trying to go further and make new music while everyone else was stuck on their greatest hits but he was very criticized just because it wasn't the original members like the Pumpkins haven't always been him mostly... he said things for the way they are but Chris probably was piqued by it. The video proves that Chris started the feud but people still criticize him, funny...
Chris Cornell is a nice guy, I "met" him once and he didn't tell me to f*** off. I went to a bar in Seattle for lunch, and there was this guy with sunglasses sitting outside the door at a table, writing in a little notebook. My friends walked into the bar, but I was pretty stoned, and I thought the guy with the notebook was the bouncer, so I took out my ID and went to hand it to him. He didn't say anything and just looked up at me. By then I looked up myself and noticed my friends had walked into the bar, so I looked back at the guy, said "Oops, sorry.", and went into the bar after them. We were ordering our food, and the bartender said "Hey, did you guys see Chris Cornell outside?" My friends were like "Oh wow, no way." I said "Oh wow, I thought that was the bouncer", and proceeded to order chicken strips. The End
Billy Corgan is such a tool... I was at soundgardens first show when they reunited and it was epic! I also saw pumpkins in 2001 and it was a boring show. The best part was when they played a cover of Du Hast. Billy vocally said he refused to play their old songs which are really their only good ones as Billy never wrote anything worth listening to after Melancholy. Even if a band toured for decades without writing anything new, which may be for the better in some cases, it doesn’t matter. If fans come out, love the show and music, that’s what matters. You wanna do something different for a niche crowd, go ahead but don’t be all holier than thou about it. You have no career without the fans
The pontificating on these comments is risible... haven't we all said things we regretted later? Early 90's bands were unbelievably competitive (their standards and righteousness are something most people nowadays will never understand). Comedians are the same way, they talk smack about one another but deep down there's a lot of respect. Corgan didn't sing anyone's praises lightly and Soundgarden was one of his few contemporaries he truly admired (along with AIC). Too bad they couldn't make amends.
Billy also tried to Sue Ed Roland for aping music for the song Shine, but when the judge saw that this particular song was written several years before any of Billy Corgan's were, he threw the case out. Hence the song "Smashing Young Man".
It’s funny Billy mentions that about Nostalgia. Because I guarantee anyone who goes to a Smashing Pumpkins concert is just there for Gish-Mellon Collie.
Cornell's solo albums are definitely questionable, but Corgan saying such things makes it really hard to like him. Almost as much with artists like Morrissey.
How about a recounting of the Bruce Dickenson departure from Iron Maiden, then his return with Yannick Gers in tow? Why did Maiden add another un-necessary member?
This is off topic but I think Id give my left nut to see James Hetfield and Jimmy Chamberlain collaborate for at least a 1 album side project. Ive always wanted to see what Hetfield could pull off with a REAL drummer behind him.
Ladies, when you inherit your late rock star hubby's estate, you do not inherit his position rights, his partnership rights, or any of his future rights within a said partnership They can no longer vote, in a 4 way partnership, because Chris is gone! They can now vote and carry on in a 3 way partnership. Mrs. you can not vote because you are NOT Chris Cornell, you are a representative of his estate only, not an actual partner with contractual or financial rights. You can not come into a court and negoiate for more money with Soundgarden because you do not have a partnership with the band. Chris could because he was a member of the band and he held 1/4 of the business of Soundgarden. Chris is gone and you do not inherit his rights, so no vote, no negotiations, only 1/4 of the bands income, no more, no less. Unless you hold the catalogue of songs alone? If someone else holds part of the catalogue you cant do squat without their permission. Royalties are not enough? Chris is the only one who held those rights. Since he is gone, they can not vote for anything in regard to any changes in his direction, because he must participate in a 4 way vote and cannot. Just because you represent his estate does not mean you also inherited his rights....get it? Give Soundgarden the tapes for their next album! They know how to keep his integrity and dignity intact! How much does money mean?? No amount of money is worth destroying all his best and what he worked for so hard, most of his life. Good luck in your lawsuit, you're gonna need it! And shame on your lawyer/s.
F*cking Amen!! How many lawsuits has that family initiated in 30 years??? Alot. And how many have they won??? Notta!!! They will need more than luck to win against SG. The music, band accounts and likeness, merchandise and all creative say and total authority belong to no one but Soundgarden. And Susan Silver ownes half of the SG catalog from 1984 - 1997 (which maybe only the few songs that are soley made by Chris -lyrics and music). At least miss 2nd wife cant keep it for herself. Susan owns half of the past catalog of which she played a vital role and earned. Second wife has never earned anything. Jumped on the money train and still riding Chris solo, Soundgarden, Temple of The Dog and Audioslave coattails. 💲💲💲💲 How pathetic!!
Billy is one of the least understood and underappreciated musicians. I don't think he meant to start a beef with Chris Cornell over anything personal, he was criticizing the business decision. Where Billy went wrong was to take it public, he should've kept it a private matter.
Christ....Ben was damn near homeless and had his bass (nicknamed tree) stolen in the years after the band broke up. I feel sad for Ben most of all after Chris died.

Evolve doesn't mean change for it's own sake. That's called contrived. Soundgarden is a band, not a vehicle for a singer....to me that's why the Vicky stuff is disappointing because most SG material is credited to SG or mostly 2 members at least.
No wonder Billy is now friends with Vicky. He obviously doesn’t get along w the other SG members. Btw I like both bands but I just love AIC.
hell yeah!
AIC is amazing. Both Layne and William eras in fact.
Figures he would be friends with V.K., he's a love LONGtime friend with Courtney,...birds of a feather....js.
Best vocals of the decade
Bingo.
I'm a huge Billy Corgan fan and it always makes me mad to hear about his misunderstandings with other singers that I like.
Imagine always being criticized?
No misunderstanding whatsoever. He clearly has felt jealousy of other artist and tends to be passive aggressive which is in his nature to kind of take subtle jabs at other 90's artist seeing how successful they have continued to be post 90's, and Billy who has always declared himself to be competitive, can't stand to see others in his era do better.
Dude is insane, an Alex jones supporter. Used to make good music though.
Good songwriter, terrible voice. Maybe he’s just hard to get along with. Like I said, they wrote great songs
@@mikek8718
His voice live is not great I agree but in the studio when he's actually trying and not screaming he has a very good voice.

I highly doubt they're gonna be able to.
We're heading for another National lockdown
His guitar changes color tho
even as a big sp fan, you can't argue this 😂
@Christopher Bingham Billy Corgan, a hypocrite, again? No, say it ain't so... lol... the dudes a ponce.
...but is still writing new music. So...?
Like Billy singing, like Smashing Pumpkins. But when he speaks...Shut up, Billy!
His singing voice sounds like cats bangin'
I love his singing on 1979.
Good point
My sons first concert was the pavement reunion.
Billy is busy promoting his 25th anniversary release and touring of meloncollie and the sadness album. Nostalgic novelty after all
Giving into nostalgia is never a bad thing.
They never toured that album
So someone who continues to put out new albums every 2 years and doesnt repeat himself by putting out the same album like foo fighters , decides to celebrate their biggest album by doing a 25 yr anniversary tour shortly after they just finished touring on their latest album which will then tour again on another new album.. clearly you dont know what your talking about and you dont know what billy is talking about cause your way off. His peers ate only doing their old shit. Smashing pumpkins have put out 5 albums since 2005 and toured on them all
Billy is not the smashing Pumpkins, that group is dead.
Who are the other 2 top guitarists?
@@MarkMarkMark Hendrix and SRV
@Christopher Bingham I can tell you don't listen to SP saying none of the bands are up their with Soundgarden lmao. SP was more complex than every single Seattle band LOL...
@Christopher Bingham The fact that you think every SP song is in 4/4 and the fact that you think a song's time signature is any indication of how complex it is tells me all I need to know. Good day.
Edit: I don't think anyone with a functioning set of ears thinks Billy has ever been a better singer than Chris.
I love how Kim don't give a f..k 🤣, tells it like it is. 👍

That profile pic you got is bomb!
Oh, that feud went waaaaay further back. This is from SPIN in 1994:
In the lobby bar of one of the tallest hotels, Cornell and Thayil are settling back with a couple of beers when Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins wanders through, and decides to join them for a strawberry margarita.
Echo and the Bunnymen.”
This is standard stuff to anybody who has read even a single Billy Corgan profile, the basic curriculum of Pumpkins 101. But Thayil isn’t buying. He’s sore.
“Don’t you see,” Thayil says, “you’re this incredibly talented guy. People like your music. You have a good band. You sell a lot of records. You don’t need all this…stuff.”
“What sign are you?” Corgan asks.
“What do you mean, what sign am I?” Thayil says. “What difference could that possibly make?”
“C’mon,” wheedles Corgan, “when is your birthday?”
“All right, goddamn it: September 4th.”
“Aha!” Corgan says. “A Virgo. You’re argumentative.”
“Damn right, I’m argumentative,” Thayil says, and takes a long, angry pull at his beer, “which you should know because I’ve been arguing with you for half an hour, not because of any sign.”
“I’m a Pisces,” Corgan replies. “We pick up on those things.”
A minute later, Corgan, still probing, finally finds the key to Thayil’s heart: “I hate how in magazine pictures, they always stick me somewhere in the back.”
Thayil explodes: “What do you mean? You write all the songs, and you do all the interviews. You play the instruments on the album. You control the band to the extent that most people think of Smashing Pumpkins as the Billy Corgan Experience, and all you care about is some photography?”
“But I hate it,” Corgan says, “it means they don’t think I’m the cute one.”
“Ooh,” Thayil says a little too loudly as Corgan walks away, “I’ll bet he’s going to call his therapist in Chicago, wake her up at four in the morning, and tell her about that big, mean bear who made fun of him.”
The next day at the Big Day Out festival, Thayil is talking to Kim and Kelley Deal in the Breeders’ dressing room when Corgan walks past wearing a long-sleeved Superman T-shirt like the one your four-year-old nephew probably owns.

Unironically taking star signs seriously lol we sure Corgan isn't a FtM ts?
Corgan was trying to be chummy with Kim, making small talk that led to BC bringing up astrology to an already annoyed KT
BC: "oh, you're a virgo, so your argumentative"
KT's reply was something like "yeah I'm argumentative, and you're pissing me off"
BC then stopped by Soundgarden dressing room and told Kim he was hurt deep in his heart by what Kim had said, before going on stage and playing what might have been the best pumpkins set of the tour the Big Day Out tour.
Corgan's not the most likeable. lol

Smashing Pumpkins is Billy. The new SM stuff sounds more like his solo work in the 2000s than any of the previous Pumpkin's stuff. I didn't think of Zeitgeist as much of a reunion, but it was a great album - one of his best.
Cornell > Corgan
No contest...
Chris had a better voice by a mile, and had impressive physical gifts. He wasn't a better musician or songwriter than BC though.
@@LetsGoMetsGo33 huh. Lol
Billy Corgan is the Axl Rose of the alternative world.
Despite all his rage, he’s still just a rat in a cage
I see what you did there, very clever. 😉
More like a brat in his cage.
He likes cats right...and he's a rat...weird
Yeah and Billy went on and recorded albums where he was the only original member. Soundgarden didn't have all original members but Cameron and Shepherd were part of there biggest albums. It took Billy how long to get 2 of the original members to rejoin the band?
It’s 2021, get with it.
i love billy corgan, met him, and I think he is a genuine person. who in the music world doesn't have ego? how can you not in that world? props to him for regretting any feud he had with Chris.
Rush.... is the only band that I can think of that never had egos..... 50+ years
So it can be done...
I don’t think Billy is a bad guy and I am glad he feels some regret over not patching things up with Chris.
Corgan sure likes the wives of signers who died in mysterious circumstances (Courtney and Vicky)....
Right. Maybe it was really him who was the shapeshifting weirdo.
He was with Courtney before she was with Cobain
Funny thing about that, is they're both nostalgia bands. I am a big fan of both, and imo, nobody really cares too much about new albums. Everybody wants to hear the old albums from both of those bands. That's what made them who they are.
I totally agree, bring back that spacey kazoo, quiet then load, octave riff any day of the week baby!
When Billy refused to play in Houston in the 90's we coined this ditty (to the tune of Bullet with Butterfly Wings) "despite all my fame, I am still just a brat in a rage"
why did he refuse to play in Houston?
The cover band he put together produced more albums than the original version....
didn't Corgan get look-a-likes for the "Iha and D'arcy rolls" on the initial Chamberlain reunion?

It's real easy to say nice things once that person has died, Billy.

R.i.p. CHRIS CORNELL
Handbags at dawn. And Mr Cornell isn't around to give his persepctive...
That’s an expression I had to look up the meaning. I like it
I wonder how quickly Billy was cut once he started throwing those stones from inside his glass house.
I’m glad Billy regrets what he said. Can’t help but feel sad for Cornell. He must’ve been in so much pain to choose suicide
Does he not play the SP's old hits when they tour or only their new stuff ?
My favorite scene in 'the irishman' comes to mind, when the mob boss(bufalino) and the irishman(sheerhan) are in prison at the end, after killing Hoffa and in turn relegating their lives to living in a cage. He smiles and says "jimmy had a nice family, didn't he?" ......"ah, fuck it, i chose us Frank" - its like these flawed humans in competitive fields get so caught up in it, they actually hurt people they like to "win" but when all is said and done, the price is remorse
"This is your brain, this is your brain on Billy Corgan.....any questions?"
Maybe there's not enough info about this or its not a dispute or not a rivalry, but a video on the 1979 lost tape on top of a car may be cool
We were ordering our food, and the bartender said "Hey, did you guys see Chris Cornell outside?"
My friends were like "Oh wow, no way." I said "Oh wow, I thought that was the bouncer", and proceeded to order chicken strips.
The End
OMG I didn't know that Shit and Crap had a feud!
We need a Johnny Otis video.
Too bad they couldn't make amends.
we all know Soundgarden blows Smashing Pumpkins to pumpkin sauce
Never burn bridges.
Team Chris
Billy also tried to Sue Ed Roland for aping music for the song Shine, but when the judge saw that this particular song was written several years before any of Billy Corgan's were, he threw the case out.
Hence the song "Smashing Young Man".
Hey William, most fans attend reunion shows to see the bands play the old music. Including yours! Dude is too hung up on how goddamn creative he is.
Janick Gers actually replaced Adrian Smith in the band. When Dickinson and Smith returned, they chose to keep Gers.
Saw both bands in the 90s
I like Cornell as a person way more than Corgan.
This is off topic but I think Id give my left nut to see James Hetfield and Jimmy Chamberlain collaborate for at least a 1 album side project. Ive always wanted to see what Hetfield could pull off with a REAL drummer behind him.

Chris Cornell: The best rock singer, ever. Billy Corgan: The worst rock singer, ever.
Who *DIDN’T* Billy Corgan have a feud with?
How pathetic!!
Billy is one of the least understood and underappreciated musicians. I don't think he meant to start a beef with Chris Cornell over anything personal, he was criticizing the business decision. Where Billy went wrong was to take it public, he should've kept it a private matter.
Corgan’s just jealous that CC had a much better voice:)
Christ....Ben was damn near homeless and had his bass (nicknamed tree) stolen in the years after the band broke up. I feel sad for Ben most of all after Chris died.
Who was the sacrifice?
Rest in Power Chris
Billy Corgan in his own right is art, Soundgarden is Masterpiece... And by the way Billy you are all in it for the money that you wouldn't play in the shows in the first place but I know for a fact Soundgarden flat out loved to groove and they were too good not to groove it.... They were truly not in for just the money
Is this actually a feud or just a bit of a disagreement. Don’t even remember this .
