    I started watching Crimson Videos 2 years ago. After some personal tragedy, I felt lost until one night while watching my favorite videos on the 2022 guitar build off I decided to give it a try. I Just want to thank my main teacher and master Luthier (though he doesn't know it until now) as he is teaching nuances of the trade in every video. It has helped me through a tough time as well as given me something to aspire to become! Your absolutely ACES Mate! Hope to meet you in person some day very soon!

    I just watched you doing some hard graft on a rickety bench. I’d love to see you do a series on making a portable work bench that you could take to these sort of events. Rex Kruger did one and there’s an amazing Moravian collapsible work bench or you could design your own. I’d love to see your ideas for one.

    Nice body design

  • @robertr4193
    @robertr4193 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not too bad for such a quick build. With a bit of refinement the body shape could work quite well as a production Guitar. One thing that would have really set off the grain pattern would have been to use a white or even the gold grain filler with the gold hard ware at least on the top but again you had a short time frame. The only thing I might had suggested on the heard stock was to make the out bound curve on the bottom a little narrower and have just a slight rounding of the sharp corners.

    Ben, when the guitar was being stained, the back half being black and the carved top half natural created an interesting visual. Perhaps a burst from back to top with the burst becoming lighter as it moves up the guitar would be very nice I think. Maybe one build could entertain a finish such as that.

    • @timbeaton5045
      @timbeaton5045 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would like Ben to have sanded it after the staining, and that would have brought out the dark grain against the lighter surface. Then finish.

    I actually like the simplicity of that build, the show piece stuff is great but I can imagine someone playing that and not spending half their time about ruining some fancy finish or custom do-dad. ill there bi a short video showing it being played once it's all set up, strings stretched and settled in?
