Big thank you for this breakdown! 🙏🏾 The joe cooley video and this has really helped me get a good understanding of the flow of scratching. Really Appretiated!
These days I spend more time trying to make my cuts sound less "continuous" haha. I think you get to the point where you want to 'bug out' your cuts and make them sound a bit jazzier
I just started watching your videos. My biggest hurdle is the hand movement used to scratch. Can you make a video of the hand movement to create the sound
I love to scratch to fast 170bpm happy hardcore music there is zero info on scratching to fast music, would you be interested in making a video on scratching to fast music? Love your videos man ty
Excellent video, I wish there was a way I could ask a question about learning how to scratch and partially quadriplegic LOL. That’s what I’m trying to figure out because I don’t have the finger ability or able to use the full function of my hands, but I will figure it out and I love your videos!
The advice in this video is what really brought my scratching together and upped my game. Btw, Pri Yon, what are your thoughts on scratching with XDJ-XZ or DJM-900nx2? I see it less often, but Ive managed to make it work so far. I went with XDJ-XZ to get more "club standard" muscle memory.
Nice topic, but your example at 4:05 is a little off. You don't fully close your fader on the last chirp, and it sounds like 15 of 16 sounds. And at 4:17 it's definitely 14 instead of 16 sounds. 1 chirp is missing!

Love it. Also, I recommend studying Jazzy Jeff's scratches and transitions. An expert!
Where would you go to do that at?
You make it look so easy but it's really difficult. Need to get to those practice sessions. Brilliant 👏

Great video! What beat are you using?
I'm using the TableBeats app on iOS, with my phone paired to the DJM-S7. The loop is called 666 by DJ DSK.

how do you scratch on mixes ocual escratc to use
i didn't get it exactly so in 1 bar we have to hit 16 chrip notes?
salamat
I can scratch a bit but can't drop on the one in time to save my life. Would love tips on properly dropping on the one
Have you tried looping 2 tracks together? That's the best way of drilling that particular technique.
Hey, I know this isn't related to the video but what entry controller do you currently use for live events?
DDJ-SB3. I've used it at clubs and music festivals.
👌👌👌
Can cdj and xdj work with Serato
The list of supported CDJs and XDJs can be found on www.serato.com
