Fascinates me when you look into vaults that are hundreds of years old knowing that may be the first time since they were placed there that someone has set eyes on them .
Epic video Cathal from the poorest of the poor, the sick, the starving to those with money. How sad such young were taken. A beautiful cemetery or graveyard, so large with hidden areas and still not forgotten. God bless all those souls whose names are lost to time. This was a special one ... I loved it! 🙏♥️🇮🇪
I have become addicted to your videos! Ireland is so beautiful, and the graveyards are so interesting with all the vaults and mausoleums! Looking inside them and seeing the remains is fascinating to me! Thank you for sharing these videos with us.
Please watch your footing, GV and Sue!! I don't want EITHER of you to fall and hurt yourselves!!🙏🙏🙏🙏 May all who died of famine and fever buried in that cemetery RIP!!💔😥🌹 Thanks for yet another EXCELLENT video, Cathal!! You ROCK!! XXXX ❤💞👍👏🤗

@@GraveVisitations I loved it, GV. What a beautifully sad broken place. Rest to all there. The graves of the children really hit my heart as I have lost 2 of my own. As a parent you just want to do the best you can and stop the hurting of your babies sigh 😮💨💔 PS Watch out for the Fae under those old trees!🧚♂️🧚♀️🧚
As my late father used to quote an Irish saying 'There are no pockets in a shroud!'. We are all equal in death. Great video watching from County Antrim
Great video Cathal and Sue , it seems like that has been a graveyard for a very very long time.. hence why it looks so strange but that's only my opinion.. definitely a graveyard I will have to take a wonder around. Wow, I rewound a couple of times trying to make out what the voices said. I couldn't make it out, but I sure heard them! That was something else😇 There was something about this place that seemed familiar. Almost like I'd been there before though I am sure I haven't, in this life anyway lol Kinda like Deja vu. Thank you again guys. xx
Another amazing place. I would hope that a historical society or UNESCO World Heritage would take a look at these places, before they are destroyed or given back to the Earth completely. My heart races when I see these sites. It's like finding arrowheads and native cliff dwellings. To see history lost makes me sad. Especially with the lovely inscriptions and tributes that are getting worn away. Thank You for recording these places. Maybe someone will take notice and restore some of these historical places.
Not sure how I wound up on Irish Graveyard TH-cam but I am fascinated by it. It’s sad how many young children there are and the mass grave plots. Happy to see some clean up work happening tho. Hello from the US!

I'm planning to be cremated...don't fancy going in a hole...but those beautiful spots up under the trees at the top could almost change my mind! Here in the US planting English Ivy is highly discouraged, even prohibited in some places, because it is so very invasive and damaging to structures. Lovely video...thanks for the tour!
One of the most interesting cemeteries featured on your channel. Rest in peace to the victims of the famine, cholera and to those too poor for a proper burial. Thanks for this vid!
I live in the U.S. I watch a channel that finds old Graveyards in Georgia. He always says you find old cedar trees in the old cemeteries. Those trees were very old but beautiful

There’s so much history in this cemetery! What a great idea you had to make it a school trip destination. It would be a great way to connect the school children to their own history in a very real way. Not just the location of the cholera, famine, and paupers’ graves, but the disparity you noted between the wealthy and the poor. Great vid!
That place was very atmospheric I think it would be a perfect place to do a night walk with that app you use on your phones . Thanks again for another informative and interesting video keep up the great work that you both do .
Hello Cathal and Sue, that was a very thought provoking graveyard, so much tragedy! I’m hearing EVP’s all over the place! Listen at 20.52…you were commenting on the fallen wrought iron round a grave with a cross on top..you were just saying about the cross, and I thought the voice said something about the cross…have a listen. … Someone commented when you left the famine grave and said rest in peace….I feel so sad as they seem so grateful to have someone recognise what happened and to show care. That’s an amazing place, be fascinating to walk at night, but risky with so much fallen masonry, over grown graves etc. you did well showing us so much, Thankyou both. Love and light, Godbless you both. Helen 🙋♀️😘
I love this it's like going into a candy store, you can't get enough. Lol. Those two really old trees were really awesome and where it was located you don't see that very often. I wonder how old that huge tree is. Well, thank you for taking me on this interesting walk. Have a nice day to the both of you. 😊

Burials. Often the bodies of cholera victims were wrapped in cotton or linen and doused in coal-tar or pitch before placing into a coffin. Each burial was in a pit 8 feet (2.4 m) deep and liberally sprinkled with quicklime. The bodies were sometimes burnt before interment
