Brendan is a very kind chap! Thank him for his tour, on behalf of your thousands of subscribers. Your audience. I truly appreciate him for sharing his time, knowledge & history of this cemetery! Some very interesting facts, you couldn't get from just anybody. Great tour! 👏👏👏💀
Greeting's, G.V., Wow, I was Super Impressed with Brendan at not only how Nice and Polite he is, but how knowledgeable he is of the history, he is a Wonderful Speaker and tour guide! That is a beautiful Crypt, amazing Stonemason's that gave great attention to detail, it is gorgeous, but macabre at the same time. Did you notice the gruesome attention to detail to the carved cadaver, it looked like maggots had eaten out the abdominal area of the corpse. Ireland 🇮🇪 has so many amazing historical places and I agree they must be preserved , so that future generations and people can see these amazing works of art. Thank You for the video G.V. God Bless You Sir!!! And Sir Brendan as well!!
OMG!! That's unbelievable!! I've never seen anything like it. It makes it all the more special to see when it's kept under lock and key to protect it from anyone who doesn't value that it's historical and irreplaceable.
Wow Brendan knows his history , what an interesting family and how long it goes back in history, and the fact that the Preston family have still got its linage as long as they keep having sons , love you and sue’s channel well done👏👏👏❤️
Wow those carvings are haunting. Such an odd decision to have that depiction on your final resting place. Thanks for bringing us another great video, and thanks to Brendan for helping you.
We have devolved and deteriorated so much as a civilization. What will be noteworthy relics of our time? Even the tombs, maggots and all, are more interesting and creatively artistic than our "modern" times. Complete with beautiful castles in the background....Ahhh but Brendan gives me some hope! Our channel host and his subscribers comments offer some reassurance that all is not lost.
without my rant of todays deterioration of what is 'right' & the degenerate 'the acceptance of wrongs' I put my trust only on my faith now. Thank you for your comment, it's well said.
I love that Brendan carefully describes the natural decomposition of the dearly deceased by the bugs and insects. It is only the natural way. I have a very old church close to me here in England. Within, the top of the vault shows the deceased in all their living glory and glad rags, below, there is the skeletal effigy of the mortal remains. This is totally natural. Do not fear death, it's just the doorway to something better. 😊 Thank you GV and Brendan ❤
Thanks GV for the tour and the video! Thanks also to Brenden, you're a wealth of information! 👍 As for the cadaver headstone... that's certainly different! 😯 I guess it's better than showing the actual body decaying back then, lol. I can just imagine how much detail it must have had when it was first made and put into place. Pete 🇨🇦
This was a fantastic video Cathal. What a kind and knowledgeable gentleman! I will definitely put this on my itinerary when coming to Ireland. This is the kind of history I want my son to see. It is just incredible and well worth the exposure for people to see this hopefully under supervision so none of this great history is lost! Again, a fine, fine video. You should be proud! Good on you Cathal. ♥️ 🇮🇪 from 🇺🇸
Thank you Brenden. The rather gruesome cover stone reminded me of the ones from another of your videos that were of a couple that had drowned. Thanks to Brenden, those cover stones now make much more sense.
Brendan was very knowledgable about Henry VIII, Cromwell and the situation between Catholics and the Church of England as they affected the Norman families in Ireland. I could listen to him all day. That cadaver is so realistic in its depiction of what happens to the body with decomposition after death.
Absolutely fascinating - let's hope all Brendans knowledge is recorded somewhere for future generations. I'm surprised that all that Ivy is allowed to grow there, knowing how destructive it is. Another brilliant video - thanks for sharing it with us. Take care 🙂
There's one in Lincoln Cathedral where the man is depicted on one of the tomb images as him in all his regalia then underneath is a cadavar version of him
Brendan is a great tour guide, very informative, and the best person to look after the area. Thank you very much GV and Brendan, for a very informative video. Have a great day, the both of you. 😊
I've seen this Chap in a few channels. Hopefully he's gotten some good pocket change. Always entertaining. Thanks. I'll never have to visit after all his interviews.😊
Ohhh, wow! Thanks, Brendan!! Maggots. They still will be all over in an unattended death. 💀 I just saw that bears are beginning to eat peoples remains from graves, because humans have taken their habitats and thereby their food. 🐻 I have no words. 😲 the History. To think people from so long ago were where you are now! Brendan (love his name of course 😊) is quite well-versed in Irish ☘️ History. He should teach. I’m first to sign up for listening to his lectures. He brings it to life!! I love listening to him. On FB, eh? Give him massive thanks!! 😊💚💚
Hey GV, this is another great video. It really was kind of Brendan to let you in and give you all that history, he certainly is a very knowledgable bloke.
It's incredible how much history Branden can just roll off his tongue as wonderfully as he did. Amazing! It would be a shame if those tombs would have been damaged by the public. They really do need to be preserved as much as possible. Thanks for the incredible video!
The cadaver just fully insured what i have said for years. I am going to be cremated. Beautiful video. The little chapel is so quaint and peaceful. Thanx GV and Brendon😊😊
Hi VG Steve from England. That was facinateing, I would never have believed it. I didn't know nothing like it. I hope you do more like this. I watched it again straight after. Thank you it was great GV I've got to watch again. ....
I am doing family ancestry research, actually have been for about 30 years. With the age of the internet I have been able to trace my dad's father's family back to the 1400's in England. His mother is from Ireland. So now I am working on my grandmother's family. I will post any updates because you may be near places where my ancestors are buried. Just subscribed.❤
I think the skeleton effigies are ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING!! Yes, they are morbid, but they are a reminder of our mortality, and how we are going to finally end up - if we're not cremated!! Thanks, Cathal and Brendan, for the history lesson!! XXXX 👏👍💞🤗❤
Gteat historic education. Thanks to you Mr Brendon. Id be very pkeased to bring you some nicely cooked dinner for you and your wife if ever i may be blessed to visit you and your family. Sending blessings from Cleveland, Ohio.
It was really cool he let you in to film. The way he was sitting on the stone and touching every little detail demonstrates why it has to be locked up though. I feel like it should be protected from the elements
Brendan is a very kind chap! Thank him for his tour, on behalf of your thousands of subscribers. Your audience.
I truly appreciate him for sharing his time, knowledge & history of this cemetery! Some very interesting facts, you couldn't get from just anybody. Great tour! 👏👏👏💀

Such interesting history that Brendan explained. Interesting to see how old those graves are. Thank you GV!
Wow those carvings are haunting. Such an odd decision to have that depiction on your final resting place. Thanks for bringing us another great video, and thanks to Brendan for helping you.
Wow, that is very interesting
that decomposed corpse on the tomb slab look like an alien corpse
Does look very strange 😮
Very interesting we have a few here in U.K. mostly in cathedrals and parish churches the earliest dates back to the 1300’s .This was a great episode.
