Hey guys, I’m the one who wrote you the email! Can’t tell you how excited I was to hear. And I managed to get one for 36 grand. I put the deposit on today so the timing couldn’t have been better! It’s a 2022 F150 lightning pro with a standard battery pack. It has 11,000 miles on it and the reason I got it so cheap is because it was a buyback they had to fix the modules which they did and it’s still warrantied til 2031! I also commented with my TH-cam channel. He’ll see it in the comments and I’ll comment on that too. I cannot tell you.
@@DriveElectricWithDomenick totally agree. I’ve taken a bunch of screenshots and stuff so I’ll try to document the process. Maybe other people can find similar deals. What’s your public Instagram? Maybe I can send you the info. I think it might help a lot of of your other listeners possibly
Everybody... pls remember. EVs must be at least two years old to qualify for the Used EV Tax Credit. Example.. now in 2024 only 2022s or older are potentially eligible. (Income limits may also apply.) Cheerz.
Guys Tristen from the email here !! I could not believe my ears as I was listening to the podcast just moments ago I had to come to the video!! This is my TH-cam page that I used to try to make some videos to be helpful to people so you guys can see that I’m legit. I’m trying to find the donation button. I’m not seeing it, but I’ll keep looking for it. Otherwise please give me some other indication as to how I can contribute. And guys, I already have some incredible news today I put a deposit down on an F150 lightning pro and I got it for only $36,000! It only has 11,000 miles on it! It should be here in two weeks. Wish there was some way I could tell you guys how I managed to get it for that price! Clue: no tax incentives were given upfront
Winter tires will also help you steer and brake. AWD only helps you get moving and do nothing to help you steer or brake. A RWD with good winter tires will be better than an AWD with all season tires in every condition except maybe climbing hills and getting moving in deep snow or ice. AWD car with all season tires will only help you get moving too fast for the conditions. Of course, AWD with good winter tires is the ultimate.
Love my e-Golf 36 kWh (~31.5 kWh new net) gross 2017 LE trim car. Now it has 71,000 miles and by my measurements 28.5 kWh net usable capacity. Still gets 110 miles on the highway easily. Analog gauges. Manual seat up/down, lumbar and front /back. Seat back tilt is electric. It has CarPlay, which is fantastic IMO. Dials (digital?) for volume, tuning and driver and passenger temp. Buttons, buttons, buttons steering wheel, heated seats, HVAC mode, and plain old switches for windows, though they are one touch up and down.
Found it guys! Thanks a million. Subscribe so you can see how it works for a self employed contractor. And I promise to do tests and put it through things you’ve never seen!
I’m writing code for work to interact with cloud resources. I still want a real set of knobs for hvac controls, not the fake knob or ctrl bar you can buy for teslas. Give me the clicks and resistance.
What Martyn is saying about business in the UK is the same in the US if it's a business transaction then it's 100% tax deductible and the charger any electrician costs that you need to have done at the house would all go through your business
And it’s a less weird than an i3 but running on the same running gear as it only it is front wheel drive. It’s a hoot to drive and will win 99% of traffic light GP’s. Just handed mine back after 3 fun driving years - worst range in a -12C winter was 90 miles, summer 145 easy. It has a very clever BMS that allows 100% charging every charge too, you cannot even set a charge limit in the car or on the Mini app! In 3 years of mostly home charging mine lost 0.5miles of range. 20-80% charging is 30 minutes but 80-100% is another 30 minutes on a 50kW charger. 11kW AC charging too.
Suggestion for your platform, In addition to this email asks situation how about doing comparisons for people who own gas vehicles and what would be an actual replacement like for like. Something like If you own a Honda Civic and you are ready to replace it, what would be equivalent replacement in an EV. Really just any vehicle that could be replaced with an EV for equivalent cost (Non wrecked Used or New because we know slightly used EV's are just like new and are very inexpensive right now.) would make a great show and then a chart could be built off of the show as a tool for people to use as well. Plug in the gas car you own and the chart brings up the EV's that are equivalent in range and price and use case. Anyway just an idea...
Yes the Lightning has come way down in price for used, I purchased my 2022 ER Lariat with 4000 miles for $54,000 with some negotiation late last year. Had to ship it to California but the shipping cost was only $1,200. So basically $55,200 with shipping.
It’s looking like the Silverado EV could be getting a 14-module (~120kWh) standard battery soon. That new battery is going into the Brightdrop now. Hopefully we see these in LT/Custom trims soon with ~300 miles range and under $60k 🤞🤞
28:57 This is deeply irresponsible advice. Your main concern in winter conditions is stopping performance. The stopping performance of a winter tire is dramatically better than an all season. Acceleration is not the issue.
Love my 2019 egolf! We have a Model Y for road trips, etc but for an around-town car the egolf is great. In warm weather i regularly get 5-6 miles per kWh and it has analog dials on the dash

Great deal!
Awesome deal, congratulations! The occasional extra charging stop is worth those kinds of savings in my opinion.

Email #2: Used Bolt EV base LT. Seriously - The Bolt drives like a hot hatch. It's fun. They are a killer deal used.
Looking forward to hearing about Tom’s new Lightning

@@johnrasimas2502 mine is only 36,000. I’m adding a spray in bedliner and PPF for an additional 1500.
Tristen, there should be a "Thanks" button under the video, just to the right of the thumbs up or down icons.
"The most analog EV"... Awesome the way you guys look at (dare we say "respect") old and new tech.

My egolf was so much fun to drive. I had the 120 mile version. It would do 70 miles a day so easily if you can charge at home
For the Ford F-150 lightning check out victory Ford in Kansas and ask for John Boil they did have recently 2022 Platinum

Don't forget the Ram EV for year's end
We didn't, but that won't be near the person's 50k budget.
Yay, mentioned Mini Cooper Electric (SE). So much fun!!

The last gentleman can get a Ford Mustang Mach E which has a very long range and can use Superchargers.
That's a good point. Thanks for sharing!
I always forget to press the like button until Dom reminds me at the end of the show.
That wall behind Tom is starting to get a bit ridiculous 😅
No to a Leaf in Texas and I also love the i3!
Winter tires ON dedicated wheels.
Surely if it’s only $29 a month for long range with 4WD, it would be cheaper to buy that car rather than have 2 sets of tyres.
Martyn where’s your podcast? Just nod and wink if it’s something legal.😉
It’s the most generic SEO name 😂 EV News Daily Podcast channel on TH-cam

And that's what I suggested. Get the RWD but put good winter tires on it. I always use winter tires on all my vehicles.
an electric trick lol.

Some of those early hundred miles EVs like the Spark were so cool. But you're on your own for maintenance. GM doesn't support that car anymore.
13:20 Sounds like he could really go for a Baker Electric. Or maybe one of those Bollinger beasts. I just don't understand that mentality TBH.
Landscaping and camping? Tesla Model Y or X long range. Get a trailer for landscaping and another for camping.
