I appreciate this video. One of the few videos out there that actually showed the view of the mirrors NOT just the aesthetics of them. Convinced me, just purchased them.

I 100% agree, towing mirrors are essential vehicle safety equipment. I absolutely love them and highly recommend them for all truck owners even if they do not have a trailer.

I checked them out prior but my budget was set on these and they were perfect for what I needed. In fact, Boosted once reached out to me because of this video to make modifications to his mirror but I no longer have this truck. I'll check them out for my next truck build 💯
Is the blind spot monitoring part of the mirrors? Or did your truck have to already have blind spot monitoring for the mirrors to indicate? Not sure if they have some kind of sensor or camera built in
Great video! I just ordered a set of tow mirrors like these too and can't wait to get them. I currently have the OEM Toyota style ones but the bottom mirror on it is too skinny and useless so you pretty much just see the ground.

I got some aftermarket tow mirrors and the mirrors are so blurry and distorted and you can’t even see the cars in the lanes. Yours looks like good
Sorry to hear about your mirrors. By chance, I would recommend you reach out to BoostAuto to purchase replacement mirrors (currently around $40). This will address the visibility issue.

So I have a base sr5 because I plan on building it up myself. I don’t have bsm so I know it will not work if I purchase these mirrors. However will the heated feature will work along with the turn signals?
Yes you will maintain your stock features and gain turning signals.
My stock mirrors on my Limited has BSM and heated features but did not have turn signals. That was a feature that I gain which I believe the wiring is prebuilt in by Toyota already.

Hello Martin, I am waiting until the weather warms, more than likely spring time to get out and pull the door apart to run my tow mirror clearance LED lights. I plan to run it to the truck's bed wiring which that power light is a very small dark brown wire. It's hard to see this wire so you may have to get a flash light.
Basically, on the driver side, remove the front panel to the truck bed light switch. Follow the thick white, blue, gray, green, pink wires (these are some thick & small wires, there are 8 wires total) to the junction box. Inside those wires also include the small dark brown wire for the truck's bed light. You can tap into that brown wire and use the truck's bed light switch to activate/deactivate your tow mirror clearance lights.

is it possible to use it as a day time running light too? I have seen GM's trucks have it on all the time, including night time too. it would be great if it could go like that on Tundra too

The install process would be the same but the eBay tow mirrors that I have which are currently found on eBay, the wiring is not compatible with Tundra's past year 2017.
I would highly suggest that you purchase tow mirrors from BoostAuto because their wiring is customized based on the truck model and year. It may be a little more in price but it will be highly worth it.

how is the magnification on the passenger top mirror? I had the OEM Tow mirrors and the magnification was so over the top i had to get rid of them- ive heard these arent as bad? any input?

It's honestly perfect in my perspective. Similar to the magnification of the stock mirrors but just a tab more magnified but not "too much". Easy to see cars near and cars coming.
The lower portion (bottom mirror) is what I commonly use to see cars that are 3-4 car lengths away and many times I bring them in to see how close my truck is near objects such as curbs or walls.
I have no complaints about them. It's like I don't even need my glasses on lol.
I bought a set through your Amazon link above and installed. My blindspot system isn't working, gives error, and says see dealer. Are these not the same as you installed? They sent a second pair I'm going to install today, but I'm not feeling real confident in them.
Just installed the 2nd set and they also have no blind spot monitor, just like the first.
Unfortunately there are some users that have had issues with their tow mirrors. Even bother I purchased mine I was advised of the BSM issue. This is a common issue which the BSM wiring is not wired correctly and needs to be swapped. I will copy the full description of what I found based on my researched.
The correct BSM pins for the mirror is:
PIN 9 - Pink (beige)
PIN 18 - Purple.
That will resolve the issue with BSM.

Yes that is correct, my Tundra's stock mirror was equipped with the blind spot monitor.

Do the mirror glass components flutter at Highway speeds? The last set of non OEM tow mirrors I tried fluttered so bad I couldn’t make out anything.
@@DirtE30 No sir sir, these mirrors are steady and very clear at highway speeds. I do not have any videos of me driving on the highway but I do have a brief video of me driving on a road which show that the mirror is steady and do not shake.

how is the magnification of the passenger mirror? i know on the OEM Tundra tow mirror the top mirror is awful to use when not towing. I actually took the OEM off of my truck for that reason. Curious how it is on this set- thanks man !
I personally have not seen the Toyota brand tow mirrors but have heard many complaints about it and the lack of features. The magnification of the driver and passenger side are near identical (as I am sitting future away from the passenger side). The magnification removes the common "side blind spots", I can see objects before it is near my truck and objects near my truck. This is with and without using a trailer. Commonly, my tow mirrors are not extended unless I am navigating my trailer in a very tight spot.

Hey brotha, I considered doing the power folding mirrors but since my truck did not come with that option then I would be required to wire in that feature. Which with 3 young kids, wheww I wouldn't be able to get the job down in a timely manner. Eventually I may consider taking on this project but I got some other things on the list for the next mods to come. However for now I'm just loving the reliability of a Tundra. Best truck you can run and not have any worries.

Why didn't you about the stock Factory tow mirrors for the tundra
Raul, that's a excellent question. The reason why I purchased eBay tow mirrors because they cost less, has more features and are more upgradable (if I decide to upgrade the mirror features down the road). Also, the OEM Toyota brand tow mirrors do not come in the "GM style" design, they do not have blind spot feature, no chrome finish and you cannot upgrade.
This was a budget upgrade to my truck and I was trying to get the best bang for my dollar.

That was my first consideration for a small truck but I needed more space and towing capacity. I do however like the Tacoma gas mileage.
