Woodworking trick I learned for center a strip of wood... Take your full width measurement, subtract the width of your stripe and then divide that by 2. Awesome work as always!
I love how this guy takes his time with him making every move he has made when it has came to this car. As long as this video is and I'm already half way through this video but he takes his time this entire time since he started on the stripes with this car. He has a lot of patience that's for sure and he knows exactly what he's doing. This dude looks likes around my brother's age.... Not sure but damn you got hella patience with when it comes to this. Like this dude is amazing with what he does like what he does when it comes to these stripes with this car it looks so perfect!! One key thing here I'm going to have to learn is patience and I mean a lot of patience when it comes to things like this. But it looks so cool and interesting...looks awesome with the work you have done. You did a fantastic job!!

You'd have to get an angle finder and then calculate the rise and run to get the stretchout. If you have a calculator it's easy. And that's the only real world use of trigonometry I could think of

I can honestly say that I didn't even know ads came up after watching "minutes" of a video until I realized I was watching his videos ALL THE WAY THROUGH - and even rewinding for being able to remember things...Love these videos and am gung ho to wrap my wife's car's headlights - he has videos for that too!! I feel I am ready - now if the weather would work with me, I could actually get it done before the headlights turn oxidized lol!

Stuck at home on lockdown due to covid-19, I've done some interior pieces before on an old e46 BMW I wad with some carbon film and had a lot of fun doing it.
Have just purchased some tools and a few meters of film to play with keen to have a crack at a bumper some corners etc and just have some fun laying glass.

So I loved this with just the satin black stripes but now that the red is on, I think a red pin stripe (about the size of the wrap cut) on both sides of the center would tie the look in even better! *New sub BTW*

Throughout the entire video I kept saying to myself the red of that toolbox would look amazing on this car against the black stripes 😊. The car came out amazing.
Nice job! Try heat the edges after knifless cut. They seem to get som jagged after cutting so a little heat smoothen them outs ;)
Just a little help, use a straight ruler and wrap with some felt or moleskin to prevent scratching paint surface then you’ll get faster, easier, and more exact measurements! Take care and God Bless my man!
Looking to install some strips on my 2018 Challenger this weekend. I purchased the strips from American Muscle and I'm hoping they come out good when I finish. I'll be washing the car down before applying and performing a dry install.
Just got new paint , when should u take off before ruining paint ? And will it come off and not ruin ? And for my situation what would u recommend as far as the vinyl brand to last and not ruin , only guy I trust om this topic

Did you butt joint the red to the black? Seemed to me you butted the knifeless tape to the edge of the black. Seems to me this way if the knifeless is a little out there will be a little overlay or paint gap.???
Knifeless tape.... such luxury! I had to freehand cut my stripes using a masking tape guide line.

Thank you for your videos, I refer to them all the time. I am doing a stripe on my truck. The one question i have is where do you buy your vinyl from. I have been having a hard time finding a good place to order from. I've just been buying it from a local vehicle wrap shop.
quick question! How do you measure out the 12" on the sides of the hood bulge? I get it to where the hood is flat, but I can't figure out how to measure that 12" going down the curve of the bulge.

what thickness vinyl are you using for stripes? you mentioned Avery but not the series number. I've been told for a painted look, 2-2.1 mil is the choice. one of your videos had VVIVID gloss
black...the best but at 3.4 mil seems thick for stripes, good for wraps. any info? great videos and you're an artiste!
If I want to make the outside stripe very narrow, say 1/4 inch, should I try to cut a stripe that narrow with knife less tape? Or should I use a high quality 1/4 inc pinstripe tape?

if the hood is 60" wide and center is 30". And your tape is 1 1/2" wide. The tape centered would be 29 1/4" on each side of the tape.

Stripes can range from $500-$1,000+ depending on what someone wants.
That looks so damn clean dude. I'm really considering doing this to my hood. Only issue is im planning on doing my roof satin black solid. And if i split the hood it might look off.

Lets say i wanted to do some stripes like this but what if i had a clear bra on my front bumper already before adding the stripes. Would the vinyl work on top of the clear bra or would i need to remove it prior to installing stripes? Thanks alot & GREAT work btw!

I have never done this before but I really really want to have White Rally Stripes on the hood of my Dodge Ram. The truck is Red in color and I just think it would make it look Sick with White Stripes. Not the Band lol. But I'm nervous I'll screw it up somewhere along the way cause like I said I never did this before. So debating if I should even attempt it or just bring it some place and have it done for a higher price ? I'm extremely amateur here.
I been trying to practice wrapping and I wrap little things just to practice and when I wrap and I’m wrapping g a rounded corner I stretch it over the corner and no wrinkles nothing but when I trim and post heat a bunch of fingers come up out of nowhere what am I doing wrong ?

Great video! I watched it over and over. What brand wrap and thickness did you use for this application? I purchasedVViViD Black High Gloss Realistic Paint-Like Microfinish Vinyl Wrap Roll XPO Air Release Technology (1ft x 5ft) to put rally stripes on my ram truck and was so frustrated that the wrap so thick and not flexible at all. I ended up scrapping the project and wasted was one roll of rap. This product I use was so thick and sticky when I listed to get wrinkles out I practically tore paint off. This vivid product I used was terrible and way too thick and tacky. Please let me know what you used in this video and where I can get it. Thank you.

@@CKWraps I have a hood scoop that protrudes about 2 inches above the hood. Does Avery have different thicknesses or is the one in the video you used their standard product? I used vivid and it was a nightmare because it was too thick and the adhesive was very strong.

Some stalker keyed "F* me sexy" into my Scion. No joke. So I'm going to attempt a DIY vinyl wrap stripe. Will the scratches show through the vinyl? They are pretty deep. Too deep to be buffed out. Looks like he did it with a screwdriver or something more intense, and creepier than a key. Thanks for the awesome video!
