@@SketchysGarage and you do the same. We are working on restoring a 84 1/2 ton Silverado 6.2L diesel and then were going to start on the 89 Camaro. Will be looking out for tips!
Fixing to paint racing stripes on 71 El camino black with white racing stripes your video sure helped I've been painting 38 year's but it's been a long time since I've painted stripes
Looking for that part 2 but have seen the end result. Great job scotty and keep um coming !!! Who knows one day maybe ill see mine on here with u working on it. Ha
Hi guys. Im just starting on my first paint job on my 2001 Miata. The video with the Camaro and burying of stripes really caught my attention. My Miata is British Racing Green and it got me wondering about a better color. The green on the Camaro is exactly what Im looking for. Is that a "candy" green ? I noticed you applied the green over grey K2. One of the pros in the chat room of House of Color informed me that I would need a black undercoat to make the green pop. Could you give me a color name and properties of what you used on the Camaro. I already purchased black epoxy primer; the base green (Organic green Kandy) and a pewter gold metallic for the stripes. If it doesnt work using a grey K2; Ill need to purchase more Epoxy black sealer. Thanks so much! The Camaro is truly an inspiration. Best color combination I've ever seen!
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I will get you the paint codes for the colors we used. As far as the color sealer you used is more up to you. I have found that on most greens they cover faster over a black ground coat, but on a white or gray ground coat they look deeper. If you have any other questions let us know. 😎
Hey guys; I'm wondering what to do to keep the stripes buried I will be painting on my Miata. I've decided to go with a dark candy green similar to what you painted on the Chevelle hood and trunk lid. However; in order to keep it Very dark. I'm undercoating the base with black instead of the gray 2k primer. In order to keep the gold stripes buried under the clearcoat; should I mask off the stripes during the black coat; or the 2K coat under the black. (nor yet painted). Thanks for any advice you might have in this! I'm going for the look of the green and gold striped hood and trunk you did in this video . The best color combo Ive ever seen!
I wanted to keep watching this instructive video, but I had to turn the volume all the way down because I couldn’t stand hearing that stupid music starting over and over and over and over again. Otherwise, cool video.

@ragtopshop8970 Thanks!
Wish you had a camera at the front end to show how you did your measurements.
The measurements are actually the tape. The 2 inch tape was off the leading edge of the hood. If you got any more questions I'm glad to help.
Great job! I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Thanks! Part 2 is now up.
Great tutorial Man I Subbed.🤙🏼

Awesome video thanks!
Thanks I appreciate it.
Great video. 👍 What kind of base coat is this? I couldn’t make out the brand when you mentioned it. Thanks
It is Diamont Basecoat and Glasurit 460 clear. The color is very gorgeous it has a blue cast to it in off light. Thanks for watching!
This is exactly what colors im going with on my chevelle. Did you find the gold paint code? How lighter would a champagne look vs this gold i wonder?
Sorry, I forgot to look. I'll check in the morning and see if I can find it. The champagne would look nice too.
Beautiful Work....I hear you saying your using diamont.. May i ask what color codes did you use ?
The Green is Stock # 617754/MG704.85. I'll see if I can find the code for the gold. Thanks for watching 😊
nice video
Thank you!
What size is the pin stripe tape? 1/8” or 1/4”?
1/4

How are you doing the front corners where they’re round?
I just bend the tape around. Just go slow to a little pressure on the tape but don't pull it tight because it will narrow the tape if pulled to hard.
Could do without the music
No music please
Great video. But lose the music. Not enough detail youall doing at the front.

Forget the annoying repetitive music!
