Update 12.08.2024 46,000 views on this video after just over a month. I’m really excited. Thank you so much for the positive feedback from all directions. I promised you, and it took a little while, but I’ve uploaded a very basic tutorial on my track curves. You can find it in the credits, or it's linked in the description or on my channel! I hope you like it. See you then.
This is excellent, I've been trying something similar but ended up starting over several times. I had made a major station with ten stations within and was going to make a central stores above, I'd experimented with junctions and flyover junctions with sliproads to reduce bottlenecks having only locos running. I wish they had waypoints that could make the trains take a particular route to releive station traffic, also it would be nice if you could select left hand drive and signals would be on the left like in the UK. Anyway, awesome work and I'll be definitely checking back on your work.
@@Chrisix3 Hi Chrisisx3, I was wondering if you have any professional connection to railways. While watching this video, I saw some 'Flankenschutzweichen' (flank protection switch ?). I know them from other videos where locomotive drivers or other railway personal explained their function. Btw, do you know any games that focus on train dispatchers ? I already know Rail Route, SimRail and StellwerkSim. Kind Regards, Oliver
As a kid I had the enjoyment of having a dad who was a train engineer and we occasionally would get to ride up in the engine and go on short trips in them, and now as a very old retired engineer... I can say without a doubt that this video just single-handedly cured my Erectile Dysfunction. 😊 Absolute Beautiful works Chrisi! True Genius work!
Regardless of the great complexity, I like the low height of the rail system and thus the perfect integration into the existing landscape, really great. I always wanted to build like this, but the game doesn't make it easy.
yea I have my rails up 3x or 4x as high as him because of how time consuming it is to make height adjustments when using foundations. The monorail system is easily the game's worst mechanic, particularly in how horribly designed the snapping system is for the tracks. It's designed entirely around people placing tracks directly on the terrain and yet any picky player with even mild OCD will NEVER do that and instead opt to at least lay it on foundations first (and delete foundations after snapping). I understand the need for the spline and bezier curve behavior of the tracks but it's horribly designed. It'd be much easier if you could just stick concrete columns on the ground and snap the tracks to it without it looking like a sea snake. You can snap the concrete columns to the underside of the tracks - why not visa versa and without the tracks trying to "level" themselves when doing so?
@@tekelupharsin4426 That and the blueprint system make the later parts of the game so tedious. I have no idea why they didn't do better implementations of both, trains as a whole are just unfun to use.

This is sensational. I am fascinated by such railway field tables. But I have fears about these because of the continuity of production. I'll give you an example. I have a factory that produces 1000 cables per minute. I have to take this to another factory, where the production of the product there requires 1000 cables every minute. The trip normally takes 2 minutes including loading and unloading. So a train that can carry 2x1000 cables must be put together. But... If it has to stop somewhere because another train is using that section, it won't get there in time and there will be a disruption in production.
Would love to explore the save file if you have one. I want to know how you connect the main base to the resources at the top of the cliff with the quartz
