Arath Gomez I know Arath!!! I thought maybe a bit low because most of her execution was pretty solid even with the Difficulty score at a 5.6. Just love this routine and her dance and all. She was outstanding and super fun to watch.
the dlo had separate legs, the whips too, I think those were the most important errors, then maybe landing deductions, and the difficulty score was a little low.
+Leandro Araujo Yeah they really butchered her tho when Fasana and Ferrari had very similar deductions and I think Elisa had 4 passes she basically almost stuck. I'd say 3-4 tenths in all of the landings. form okay take 6 tenths. that's 1 point. Idk about these judges but difficulty being lower than fasana or not. Her routine was MUCH better and much more entertaining.
Can we just take the time to appreciate how bad ass this routine was! I mean she slayed this routine and she completely just blew off the fact that her team was eaten by the beam and went out and did the floor routine of her life!
Absolutely badass. The Latin vibe reminded me of Esther moyas Olympic routine in Sydney 2000 from Spain and she also I feel got robbed of a medal in the Floor Final in Sydney. And here meneghini I felt out entertained Fasana and also had very clean Landing's. The crowd agrees with us. =] if she was put later in the lineup I think she also would've had better chance of beating fasana into the final. If artistry scoring this quas was applied here Elisa def IMO would've beat fasana into the floor final spot she got.
Both meneghini and moya were scored harshly and artistry and entertainment value should count for more even if the difficulty in routine is a tenth or few less than say Fasana here who best Elisa into the floor final. Alsobshe should've been put further unto the lineup but I feel like they wanted to get Fasana and Ferrari best chance at the building score move that coaches think actually works still lol.. This is artistic gymnastics after all. I'm glad they finally implemented more deductions for lack of artistry in the Execution score now.

Before the Games, Lara Mori's coach complained about the squad selection, saying something like Elisa wasn't a floor specialist and was unstable and inconsistent, she could get over 14.5 or 12 depending on day. Well, 5th highest execution of Quals (behind USA girls and Ferrari), scored enough for finals with medium difficulty and won the crowd with every tumbling, now we know how she was on that day and what she did for her team.
Even the crowd boo'ed at the score. No other way to put it. Ferrari, Meneghini, etc. all don't have great form. But All of her landings were on point. Should've been in the finals. Period.

Roy Wilson.C should've been the other way around. Fasana had visible errors on her first tumble. At least .3 off. Then some of her leaps were not great, especially one which looked totally weird. Elisa really deserved that 14.333. =\ Hope she continues gymnastics on the elite level because she quickly became one of my fave international athletes after this floor routine.

Still re-watching 7.5 years later. One of my fave floor routines. Reminds me of the fun rputine ftom Esther Moya circa 2000 Sydney Olympics whwre she got robbed of a Bronze medal i feel in the floor final. Unreal. Damn khorkina. Like if those routines were done in this quad deduction wise for errors in tumbling etc. That Moya would've bested and gpt the bronze and Meneghini of the current artistry execution deductions were in play in Rio, then i feel Meneghini would've bested Fasana into the floor final here. Too much fun and entertainment as well as dance that fit the music. It flowed from start to finish perfectly. Fasanas routine to me in comparison. Boring and she had a few noticeable errors whereas overall Elisa really rocked all her landings and her leaps were dynamic and crisp. A shame. Still feel the same way like i will with Moyas robbed bronze. I always will. The CoP finally gives the word artistic in this artistic gymnastics sport a reason to be called just that lol when many tenths can be taken away for lack od diff artistic execution checklists per routine it shows who has the less difficult routines but can be rewarded by artistry and get a score reflecting that and be competitive because of it. Love it.

Truly thought Elisa should've been in the event finals on floor instead of Erika Fasana. Vanessa Ferrari deserved her spot but Idk. There were seriously visible errors in Fasana's routine.

Agreed but Meneghini with artistry and entertainment value really overshadows that little difficulty value. This quad with artistry being more paid attention to in execution scores. I think Meneghini would've went ahead of Fasana here. Her leaps and tumbling is very efficient here. Maybe less difficult overall but really very great landings and the crowd really is the equalizer for me it. To Me they seemed to really enjoy the routine and that definitely means it was artistically sound for sure. Yeah catchy music but the dance when she had the chance went along with the whole Latin vibe. Fasanas artistry to me is lacking. I guarantee this quad if difficulty value were the same and the artistry scoring change was applied here. Meneghini would've been in the final. IMO of course.

Agli occhi di persone non esperte questo esercizio potrebbe sembrare praticamente perfetto, ma se si sa cosa guardare si può capire la ragione del punteggio: nella prima diagonale le gambe sono completamente staccate (-0,1 o -0,3 a seconda di come l'hanno giudicato i giudici) e fa un piccolo salto all'indietro (-0,1), nella seconda le gambe sono scomposte (-0,1), i piedi non sono piegati (0,1), il petto è basso (0,1) e fa un piccolo saltino (-0,1), nella terza ha perso 0,1 per le gambe staccate e 0,1 per i piedi, e nell'ultima i piedi sono tutt'altro che tesi (-0,1) e fa un piccolo passetto (0,1), infine in 2 dei 4 salti l'arrivo a terra è impreciso (-0,1 per ognuno). Il punteggio finale di 8,633 quindi è più che giusto. Detto ciò, questo resta un bellissimo esercizio, probabilmente il migliore della sua carriera, e uno dei migliori visti a rio. Tenete inoltre a mente che 8,633 è tutt'altro che un punteggio basso, basti pensare che Aly Raisman ha ottenuto 8,833 per il suo esercizio in finale, ed era una delle migliori al mondo su quell'attrezzo. Ci tengo a specificare che non sono un giudice di gara né lavoro nel settore, sono semplicemente un'appassionata che segue la ginnastica artistica da una vita e che ha (più o meno) imparato come funziona il sistema dei punteggi. In particolare se si cerca su internet si può trovare il Codice dei punteggi ufficiale della Fig degli ultimi quadrienni, in cui si spiega come si calcola sia la difficoltà sia l'esecuzione dell'esercizio, è così che io ho imparato :)
Per me, molte giurie dono di parte , ingiustamente pignolecon certe atlete, quando on sono russe, cinesi o americane , 2uesta e' la verita' per me! Io, sto iniziando a non guardare piu' lo sport, mi da schifo morale e materia,e quando nello sport entra la politica.

at first I was mad at the fact that she wasn't in the final but after seeing 5.6 difficulty I was less confused. Her e score was great, the only people meeting that e score or higher were Biles, Raisman, Hernandez, Marine Brevet, and Ferrari. she had the 4th highest e score of the entire olympics. just too low difficulty, not underscored.
Is it me or at the very end of the video people booed at the results??? Like she didn’t get the right score she deserved. Her floor routine was AWESOME. that would not shock me that the judges slashed her according to the people’s reaction
Unfortunately we Americans have set the bar so high sometimes that we don't give other gymnasts a chance.. and I mean it too. Not saying it to brag. I do miss the competitive side. Hopefully this quad will bring some

Her floor routine was AWESOME. that would not shock me that the judges slashed her according to the people’s reaction

Unfortunately we Americans have set the bar so high sometimes that we don't give other gymnasts a chance.. and I mean it too. Not saying it to brag. I do miss the competitive side. Hopefully this quad will bring some
she didn't make the final because two ITALIANS scored higher than this routine!!! the US is dominate but her placement was about how good the Italians are on floor!!!!!!
