Hello RAR! This build is definitely going to be viable for Aurics, many are - but I would hesitate to call it the best. I think one thing that would really enhance these types of guides would be for you to include a scoreboard at the end of the test run in the video, which can be supplied via the scoreboard mod. This will show you and the viewer exactly how the build performs in game, allowing you to make tweaks to your build that boost your damage and survivability in a meaningful way. I only use the word best for TH-cam SEO Keyword searches. If you don't use it, your vid will rank lower. I leave it to the viewers to decide whether it is best. I also do not use any mods as console players don't have access to them anyway and it may invite undue judgement upon the randoms that may be seen in the gameplay footage. Those who use the builds can decide for themselves with their scoreboard mod if they choose. However, I strictly never mod any game I create content for, unless the mod is officially approved.
@RealAsianRobot not all tempestus scion have full automatic lasguns, more of their hotshot lasguns are semi automatic scoped hotshot lasguns for example the Ryza pattern and the militarum pattern.

Onslaught depends on needs. I find myself still capable of boss slaying without it. However if you want to pick it up you'll have to give up other stuff in your loadout. You can totally go for it if you want, but this is what has worked well for me. If you want it, you can go without keystone or other bonuses in the build. Adjust to your needs but I've genuinely had 0 difficulty with this.
I'd totally drop determined as it is useless, and deadshot as it is way too clunky. Reciprocity gives as much AND works for melee too, with only having to stack and maintain it, which is NOT hard (unless you have 2+ taunt ogryns...) Also onslaught > focus target subnodes + 10% rending imo, for both the team and yourself. (less than 1/3 mag per crusher, or just spray a little and go melee) Also hum. Duelling sword is broken. If you haven't seen randoms perform with it, maybe it's because it's a precision weapon, which randoms are not good with (not that randoms are good with specific stuff). One/two shotting crushers/reapers/maulers/ragers + one shotting every other elite/specialist is not comparable to any other weapon. Horde clear isn't the best, but you have frags... and can always go weapon specialist. You should make your opinion trying it yourself rather than from randoms performance.

@RealAsianRobot I was just going to reply in another comment about the dueling sword, but now I have too much to say, so here: Everyone and their mother is using dueling sword right now. A Vet build that focuses on buffing the sword can one-tap crushers, but you can also two-tap crushers without going all-in on the sword and it's honestly incredibly broken and easy to play. Take shock maul if you're having fun or going for a theme, but it is strictly worse in comparison. Both dueling sword and recon las can easily handle bulwarks. Dodge with the sword and two/three-tap them or just shoot the very tip of their head or arms with the recon las and the burn stacks take them down pretty easily. You should also drop 10% rending because it's doing nothing for the build and it's honestly a bad node in general. Better to take demo team, especially if you're playing aurics/maelstroms, because shredder grenades are disgustingly good. They're also great for crusher/bulwark packs because you can knock them down with a 'nade and kill them that way as well. No need to open up shields with a shock maul. Also, Born Leader is better to take over For the Emperor if you're playing with a team. I personally take For the Emperor because I play a lot of duos and it's better for that, but thought I'd mention it because Born Leader is very good and gets overlooked a lot. Also, also, you mentioned possibly taking competitive urge and I heavily advocate for that as well. In particularly spicy maelstroms, it gets a *ton* of uptime and is a pretty high-value node in my opinion. And finally, you'd be better off dropping deadshot and target down to pick up reciprocity instead. It has no downside and you'll probably be dodging in close quarters while firing the recon las anyway. 8 seconds is an *eternity* for a buff like that. And if nothing else, you're not taking any stamina curios with your build while firing a rapid-fire weapon that is going to eat through your stamina. Much better to drop two nodes for one that will also allow you to be sitting at full stamina most of the time- should you need to block or sprint away.
So yah, my first comment on this was probably a bit toxic and nobody is gaining anything from being toxic online, so let's turn it like this: to everybody being triggered by unoptimised builds: this guy here is catering to an audience of casual Malice-Heresy players, so it's not the end of the world, let them have their fun.

If you can one shot all targets with the dueling sword, then by all means use it. Choose the optimal equipment that you like. I just go with what works for me I haven't seen a single person do that (in any of the games I've played with randoms)

I am aware, but the rapid fire hotshots and hellguns are more famous thanks to the Dawn of War series.

what curios do you use?
Might try this and swap Deadshot for Precision Strikes, Shocktrooper for Marksman. Also swap the shock maul for a dueling sword.
wow you didn't pick up brittleness on the right. It makes it melt all bosses. Im suprised.

I was just going to reply in another comment about the dueling sword, but now I have too much to say, so here:
Everyone and their mother is using dueling sword right now. A Vet build that focuses on buffing the sword can one-tap crushers, but you can also two-tap crushers without going all-in on the sword and it's honestly incredibly broken and easy to play. Take shock maul if you're having fun or going for a theme, but it is strictly worse in comparison.
Both dueling sword and recon las can easily handle bulwarks. Dodge with the sword and two/three-tap them or just shoot the very tip of their head or arms with the recon las and the burn stacks take them down pretty easily.

Why not just use the dueling sword and 1 shot targets ?
If you can one shot all targets with the dueling sword, then by all means use it. Choose the optimal equipment that you like. I just go with what works for me
