- We visited the beautiful small Blue Ridge Mountain town of Boone North Carolina. The sights and sounds along with nice places to eat and shop make Boone a great visit. The town gets its name from the famous pioneer and explorer, Daniel Boone. The Town of Boone was incorporated in 1872 and now has reached a population of 19,458 people. It sits atop Appalachian Mountains!
Boone is located within a three-hour drive, or less, from major cities and airports in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Visit and find yourself transported worlds away. It was named one of the top 50 adventure towns in the United States, according to National Geographic Adventure Magazine.

Jennifer, glad you all come along with us. Boone is such an awesome place to visit!
Looks like it was a beautiful day as you walked the streets of Boone. I loved the history of the old bank which is now a store today. Boone which was named and founded after Daniel Boone. He, Daniel Boone, led a very interesting and busy life as he and his wife raised 10 children of their own plus 8 other children after the children's parents died or were killed. Once again you have out done yourselves in sharing the video of Boone, NC. It is a very beautiful small mountain town set in the quiet and peaceful hills of NC.
Thanks so much for sharing Mel!
Absolutely stunning. Such a beautiful place to see. Thank you so much. God bless.
Our pleasure!
This looks like such a neat town. These towns are always so full of history. I love the store that had the bank vault left in it, that is so cool. I bet that lady could tell you a lot of stories about the town.
It was Rita! We do too and yes she had many more we didn't get on camera.

You guys should check out the Green Park Inn. It’s a large hotel nestled on the edge of Blowing Rock. Not too far from where you guys were on King St. There’s just one catch, it is known as one of the most haunted hotels in the entire country.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for visiting our town!
Our pleasure!
I learn a lot from u guys,histories,sights anything that's why I love ur channel...take care❤️❤️
Awesome! Thank you!
If you ever go to North Carolina on the third Saturday of a month between April and October, you should definitely vist the small open air museum Whippoorwill Academy and Village in Ferguson (open between 1 and 5 pm). Ferguson is a small unincorporated community on NC Highway 268 about halfway between Lenoir and Wilkesboro. They have a replica of Daniel Boone's cabin from when he lived in the area along with other old buildings. There is also a Tom Dooley exhibition, an art gallery, and don't forget to visit Matt's Store and get some pickled bamboo and homemade honey. This is maybe my favorite place in USA. If you go just say hello from Jan from Denmark. And btw, there is an Airbnb wnere you can stay, far away from civilization
Thank you so much for the great suggestions we appreciate it.
We were there last August. 😊😊😊 We 💗 it there‼️💜
Beautiful little town!
I remembre the TV show about Daniel Boone Fourty or fifty years ago here in Chile.
I did not know about that such a beautiful place. Thank you
Yes, Denise we remember it too. Thanks for leaving a comment and watching our adventures.
Good morning I always look forward to your videos
Yay! Thank you!
Such a nice little town. On list to visit! Thanks for sharing!
It really is! Our pleasure.
There is a Christmas tree farm near Boone that sells his trees here in Lafayette Louisiana. Visited the farm one time and he had me tag a live tree and we took a picture. He brought it to us that Christmas season. So cool. Need to go again.
That is very cool John! Thanks for sharing.
Ok first really liked the video. Thank you for sharing. This will be going on our travel list. Secondly what was at the top of the stairs?
Our pleasure Jeff! Just a parking lot...haha.

❤Beautiful little quaint town! Love hearing little history details you point out or come across. Lot of interesting little shops, beautiful landscaping and looks like some good food places to try as well. How far away is this from east TN area? Happy Father's Day to you Mike 🏞✝ Thank you for the tour!!
Hi Tara! It really is a beautiful area in Western NC. It's about 65mi from East Tn. Thank you so much for the Father's Day wishes.
Great video. Didn't know about the neat history of the store with the safe. We just got back today from Boone. Nice little vacation. Y'all should try the Daniel Boone Inn restaurant.

Love it there. Lots of great places to eat.
It really is!
Thanks for the tour.
Our pleasure!
Heads up! The post office was not built in 1850, it was built in the 1930s as a part of Roosevelts New Deal!
One of my friends visits each year to Boone. She says she just loves it there and that I'll have to go one day. :)
You should go visit and let us know what you think Kim.
I was born and raised there most of my young life. Watsonatta has been there for over 50 years. Appalachian Theatre has been completely remodeled and was closed for a few years. Boone Bagelry has been there close to 30 years and has amazing food. Boone Drug had a old time lunch counter in the back. Highway Robbery has been there for over 30 years.
Thanks so much for sharing this info Tammy!
We love the Boone area!!!
Thanks for sharing Maxine!
Would be interested in y’all’s review of the Daniel Boone Inn
Thank you the suggestion.
Nice looking little town. Have you ever been to Waynesville, NC? Its a nice little peaceful town. Me and my wife stayed in Waynesville for our anniversary this year we stayed in a nice little B&B called Brookside Mountain Mist Inn. You all you should check it out.
Yes, we've been through Waynesville several times. Thanks for the suggestion!
We love Waynesville area too, close to several areas but I like Waynesville best!
We want to visit here! It looks like a great place to visit! ~ Shion and Matthew
It's a great place with many other sites near by.
Love the video
Thanks Terry!
Good morning, Fridays! Happy weekend!
Hi! Same to you!!
@@FridaysForever Thank you for this beautiful tour! I took my kids to Boone on vacation years ago when they were teens...all they wanted to do was find something fun to do and eat! 😉😊 Robb and I have been talking about going there sometime instead of our usual mountain routine ... Townsend, Cade's Cove, Cosby, PF and G'burg. Now that I know about the great stuff besides Grandfather Mountain, I'm all in!! Thanks again!!
@@shelwhitley1011 That would be a good trip! Our pleasure.
Boone is nice haven't been there in a few years. I live close to Boone
Beautiful little town!

Yes, Thomas born and raised here in the Appalachians!
Always wanted to visit Boone NC, thank you for the tour!
We enjoy going to the Boone/Blowing Rock area. It's about an hour and a half or so drive from where we live.
Thanks for sharing Ron!
Boone is nice
We agree!
Looks like another spot we may want to check. Pearl always like a sale
Thanks so much for watching!
What a cool little town. Reminds me of some of the small towns in West Tennessee. The Bronze statue reminds me of the Bronze Cowboy TH-cam channel. He's worth checking out.
As far as going in the safe? Nope.. I'll pass.
Thanks for sharing Doug!
@@FridaysForever Put up another video with some great water falls a couple days back you guys might like. You'd enjoy a visit to Rock Island.
I’ve got a friend who lives in Boone but I’ve never pictured it to be this cute and quaint! 😊 On another note, where did you get your t-shirt, Karen? I love it!!
Hi Bethany! Your friend is blessed to live there! The t-shirt came from the space needle in Gatlinburg. The ground level when you walk in has shirts and things for sale. God bless!! ~ Karen
Thanks have you been to Hendersonville NC it is A pretty town
Yes, but no video yet.
My grandparents get up in Boone North Carolina
Thanks for sharing Laura!
Looks like a nice town
Very nice town in the mountains!
I lived above the Appalachian theater in the early 80's. Its still nice but not the way i remember
We live about 30 minutes from Boone👌🏻 North Wilkesboro
Thanks for sharing Mike that's great!
I'm curious about West Jefferson, NC. It's not far from Boone. Have you been there?
We've been through West Jefferson but haven't stopped in.
Spent the weekend there last summer (June) a favorite place indeed.
It's beautiful Lisa!
Mike, Happy Father’s Day
Thank you so much John!
Good
Thank you!
I feel like I was reccommended this because I live in boone. Seeing you guys enjoy the town makes me really happy. I've been a student here for a few years now and I love living here!
Thanks for the comment Luke!
👍
Appalachian State UNIVERSITY!!
I’ve lived here my entire life and I love it when tourists come up and visit and learn about our history and support local businesses! I am so glad you enjoyed it up here! Next time y’all come up and you’re looking for some good food, definitely try out Our Daily Bread!
Thanks for sharing! And we hope to try Our Daily Bread next time.
Questio for you since your a local. Thinking of moving to the area. My son is biracial... How accepted would be feel or is NC still as racist as it was in the 90's???
@@queenofclean5504 Things have 100% improved since then. Racism exists almost everywhere unfortunately but I have never ever had an issue with racism in the very very long time I’ve lived here!
@@ashtonb2658 are you a person of color
@@ashtonb2658 I moved away from NC in 2001 and now with having a 15 yr old biracial son I just don't want to relocate somewhere that will not be supportive of him
What is a good hotel to stay at there?
We've never stayed over night Cheryl. So sorry we can't recommend a hotel. We always recommend using a hotel search and reading the comments.
Are you still in Boone NC
No, we are back in East Tn.
@@FridaysForever you were like an hour from me ha ha
High country
Beautiful!
I believe that flower was a peony.
Thank you Wanda!
If you’re still in the area, Blowing Rock is about 15 mins away and is the cutest little town.
Thanks Lauren! We are back in East Tn now but have been to Blowing Rock in the past. We will revisit soon!
My wife and I love your TH-cam site but you need to learn how to slow down the movement of your camera you move too fast. We were dizzy by the time you finished.
Thanks for the tip Jerry!
I 'd much rather have the original old Farmer's Hardware, where the quality of the different merchandise was considerably higher and very useful. I look at that of the present, and it is disheartening and cheap.
he might have wore it to get elected. blame Disney.
Not as much history as we have in the UK.
This comment just makes you sound ignorant. You do realize the people who settle in this area were from the UK. So it's literally apart of UK history.
@@KP-vg3zn Don’t be so rude calling me ignorant, it’s you who are ignorant for saying something like that.
@@KP-vg3zn The Romans occupied Britain in 43 AD for your information. Does you’re history go that far back?
@@gailcrowe727 No, because my ancestors were still in Britain. Obviously my comment went over your head.
