  • The Great Smoky Mountains has so much to explore on both the Tennessee and North Carolina sides. Today we visit the North Carolina side in Cherokee. The beautiful rivers are so peaceful with the cool mountain water streaming by. Walking the streets we take you inside a few of the shops and show you around town including the Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort. With several places to dine in the area or just pull off by the river for a pick nic. This is the peaceful side of the Smokies. Don't forget Santa's Land in Cherokee also if you have small children. You can also go tubbing in Cherokee NC. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Click "Show More"

Way back in 1991 my wife and I vacationed in Gatlinburg and drove through the GSMNP to Cherokee for the day. I remember riding the sky lift. The view up on top sure was pretty. It’s all beautiful country. We are going back there in September of this year. Very excited to see this area again. I sure enjoy watching your videos.

Cherokee has changed a lot over the years it doesn't have the same charm that it had years ago. It is still fun to visit and see the area. I wish you could see more of the Cherokee in their native clothing, to me that was what made it so different and interesting

I remember the Indian Chief being at the store where you video begins. He was right at the start of the old walking bridge before the store with bears in it. Thanks for sharing! Loved the video. Cherokee was where we loved to visit when our children were small We have pictures with the old Cherokee Indian and loved to see all the crafts they made. We also visited the village where their way of life was portrayed. It is so sad that the Indians were treated the way they were. Chattanooga has an area that tells about theTrail of Tears Keep these videoes coming

I'm near 60 and played in the that creek as a child. We took our first family vacation with our months old daughter here. Shes now 30! The newer part around the welcome center was added after she was older. There were teepees and natives all up and down 441. So sad to see it less visited now that Pigeon Forge has become a mecca and the casino become what people go there for. Thanks for the video.

Oh Wow! Didn't realize there was more to Cherokee North Carolina than the part you first drive through coming from the GSMNP. My husband and I have taken our daughters, now 21 and 18 a few times. It's the only part I remember from my childhood. We visited there July of 2020 while staying in Gatlinburg and still didn't realize there's more.🙄😂...I do remember seeing the Chief that was there in the 70's. I remember my parents bought me moccasins from Cherokee, and my brother got a chief headdress each. Memories!🥰 Mike and Karen, thanks for sharing!😉

Thanks for sharing this video. There's a place in Cherokee that has Bamboo, an island or something like that, that you can walk to? I'd love to see that. Not sure where it is in Cherokee or how to get to it. I have seen pics of it though on people's comments before. We love to eat at Little Princess. We eat there when we go to Cherokee. I've seen videos of elk in the river there. I have a lot of good memories of the Smokies. My family traveled there on vacation and I will always love the Smokies. We loved Maggie Valley too and when I was 12 yrs old we went through the Blue Ridge Parkway to go to Washington D.C. So many awesome times and memories! Looking forward to your next video. Thanks Mike & Karen.

I still have the pic of our two boys and The Indian Chief, when they were smaller. Used to love the Big Boy Restaurant that was there. Could spend some $$ in the Southern Charm store. Last October driving through Cherokee, that big Indian had a mask on! To funny. Also, love the handmade items made by the Indians.

Very cool video. We'll be down that way very soon. Thanks for the info... gives us a good idea of where to go. For the record, I do believe the flowers were Black-Eyed Susans... unless I didn't see others off camera. As a Maryland native, I'm obligated to mention that. :)

I live here in Cherokee and I want to reach out to the people who may be wanting to visit here or stay.
PLEASE do not stay at a Airbnb. There has been cases of cameras that have been spying on people in the last couple of years. It's not out to the public because they don't want to scare their tourist friends away. By all means please stay at a motel or hotel IF you can. I highly recommend it. I want you to enjoy the place I live but please think about it. Stay safe.
