Emperor Valkorian wasn't mad at Arcann (the white-robed twin) for killing Thexan (the black-robed twin) because that is exactly what he wanted. In Star Wars The Old Republic, Valkorian is essentially what you would get if you fused Satan with Darth Sidious from the movies. Valkorian WANTED Arcann and Thexan to come to blows and for one of them to prove themselves the stronger one by killing the other. That's why he refused to acknowledge them and their accomplishments in order to drive them to hatred and feed that hatred until it consumed them. This ended up only working on Arcann, mostly because he idolized his father more than Thexan as a child, and in the end it drove Arcann to hate his father so much that he would come to kill billions of people and wipe entire planets clean of all life on them simply to give him the opportunity to confront and attempt to destroy his father. Anyone his father touched would become an object of his hatred and any world or cause his father laid a hand or finger on he crushed brutally. And all of that was the result of Valkorian's desire to create a worthy heir, which he later deemed both Arcann and Vaylin (the girl from Betrayal) unworthy of (AFTER he went through all that trouble and inflicted unthinkable amounts of suffering on both of them) and instead chose a complete outsider (The Jedi Knight who defeated him in his guise as Sith Emperor) to be his heir. So yeah, Valkorian is the Devil incarnate. With regards to the comments on "something awful happening"in all of the trailers... First of all this is Star Wars as it should be. It's a much more mature and true-to-life depiction still with that healthy dose of opera-style drama. In real wars, the bad guys win all the time, most of the time in fact, because the bad guys are the strongest 90% of the time. Thus in Star Wars The Old Republic, the win/loss ratio as far more even with "evil" triumphing more than most people might be comfortable with. Of course, to me "good" and "evil" are merely terms people use to separate themselves from their enemies and thus justify doing terrible and horrible things to them. Not that I look down on doing terrible, horrible things to other people, that's just the way I see it. Commit atrocities all you like, just don't call it "justified".
To be more accurate, Valkorion didn't exactly want this, more like he simply wanted results of their birth, much like his daughter, who potentially could kill her own father if she wanted to, which deemed her a threat to his existence, hence the experimentation, and discipline to keep her from growing stronger and stronger. he sent his own sons out into battle not for the expectation of seeding his owns sons to turn on each other. he simply let things play out as fate wanted it to. wouldn't really matter if the twins, kill each other, kill the other or work together. by the end of the day, valkorion simply wanted results from the twins endurance through-out the wars.
Actually the outlander could be anyone aldo the perfect candidant will be tyhton(the jedi knight),empire wrath(the one who serve him and promise to kill the last by valkorion) and darth nox(occulus or imperius depend on the choice) because he simply valkorion the second with his force ability through the roof
@@HeyPachuco Valkorion sealed Vaylin away because her potential with the Force spooked him. Ultimately, though, he just wanted a new body to slither into. In the end, Arcann killing Thexan was exactly what he wanted; it got rid of the weaker son and elevated the son with ambition. He wanted the strongest of his sons (but not Vaylin, because he's a punk bitch), to force the Outlander to submit to his will.
In the Sacrifice Trailer, you saw the father test his twin sons. The father is the former sith emperor, so he prefers his servants to be dark side users. His sons weren't really aligned with either light or dark but he needed a dark son, and he didn't want 2. The one in white cracks first and kills his brother, thus joining the dark side and earning the recognition of his father. The second trailer you watched is actually the 3rd trailer for the base game. You should watch the first 2, named "Return" and "Hope" respectively. They're equally as awesome and the "Return" trailer I think has the best fight scene out of all of them.
Neither. Jedi are too dogmatic and the Sith are too blind. The Jedi are basically monks who try to bury their inner darkness while the Sith embrace it. However, embracing it can also enslave you to it. Burying your darkness is like filling up a balloon, it'll eventually pop.
To understand why Valkorion (the father) didn't care that Thexan (the son in black clothing) got killed you would have to understand who Valkorion really is.
Exactly. He ignored them because they were trying to please him, which in his eyes was a lack of ambition. Just as storyteller tells throughout the cinematic
to me it felt as if that was what the father wanted to happen, since their birth he had given them his back, stating that they wouldn't have anything, that their birthright would be the dirt. Therefore, the only thing that they had was each other, also the father said "a man can have anything if he is willing to sacrifice" and the only thing that they had to sacrifice was each other, once that happened the one who survived was for the first time acknowledged as his son, as he had sacrificed everything so now he could have anything.
The Sith in the second video is Darth Malgus. The start of Star Wars TOR takes place 13 years later. Which is roughly when the first trailer takes place. The first one was The Sacking of Coruscant at the end of the Great Galactic War in 3,653 B.B.Y. Star Wars TOR starts in 3,640 B.B.Y.
For the best experience, you really need to watch these in order. You watched #4 and #3 in this video. #3 (called Deceived) was created first but is actually takes place before the one at the start of the video in terms of the story. Trailers 1-3 feature the same characters and then 4 and 5 start over with new characters in a different time period.
watched "Leon the professional"....awesome movie ..... thank you Jaby for suggesting this movie in one of your vids ..... please keep suggesting such classic movies....last time I saw such a good movie was "V for Vendetta "...
The emperor is immortal. Individual lives (even those of his own sons) are just game pieces to be moved around in whichever manner most benefits him. He doesn't really care that one son killed the other, just that he distinguished himself as the stronger of the two.
yeah actually why a lot of people are into games (I know this counts for me) is because these days playing a game is a lot like participating in your own movie, you can change the story (in some games, not all) and well, its just really sweet to do.
This trailer is the one before what you saw before with the little girl. It introduced this new empire that crippled the sith and the republic (as you saw here). The one in white (Arcann) becomes the villain of this expansion. The father (who is also narrating) is the old sith Emperor. You saw him on the other trailer as wel. There are 3 other trailers that came out with the launch of the game 5 years ago. You need to see them in order. There are TH-cam vids that put them all together in a "mini movie"
The father is Emperor Valkorion of the Eternal Empire. Even if he tries to present himself as above light and dark, he is very much imbued by the dark side. Of course, he doesn't care when one sone dies. The only kept the remaining son- and daughter- so long as they were useful to his power
The clips are awesome but Achara's emotional investment in the story is the best! I'd love to see how deep she gets into the ep. 3 trailer with the stand of Battlemaster Kao Cen Darach.
"A man can have anything if he is willing to sacrifice" White was willing to sacrifice his brother to get to his father. He was willing to sacrifice in order to get what he wanted. The father saw that, that how he gained his approval.
The whole point is that the father wouldn't accept them because of the brothers' love for one another; with the Sith, it's considered a weakness, so they kill their attachments. I imagine that's part of why the Jedi avoid attachment, too? It's a distraction from obtaining power. I agree 100%, it was a great choice to slowly have the brother in white become stained as he grew closer and closer to the dark.
He wanted his father to except them and show compassion and give them a pat on the back and didn't get that which enraged him, father wanted the strongest of the two, the one who's willing to do anything
That old man is Valkorian, or known in his precious life as the Sith Emperor Vitiate. The Eternal Empire is an enemy to both the Republic and the Sith Empire.
Actually the dad is a sith emperor ( star wars - jedi light, sith dark ) .... eventually they were fighting the other sith and jedis increasing their empire.. the dad originally wanted to find out who would be the more evil one.. hence the ending justified... no worried achara.. you didn't know much about star wars myths .. :D
The one in the white, Arcann, was so fed up with his father never being satisfied with their accomplishments, that he snapped in the end and in rage tried to kill his father, Emperor Valkorion. Unfortunately his brother, Thexan saved his dad by force-pulling Arcann back.
Probably a little confusing as you've watched the videos out of sequence and they deal with two entirely separate stories. The one you watched with jaby is the second to the one you watched with the brothers in (who ate also the brothers of the girl btw) is setting the story for the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion to the game. The sith sacking the jedi temple while invading Coruscant the republic capital world is one of three cinematics that set the story for the base game Star Wars The Old Republic and is the last of the three.
The trailer I think was trying to make it clear that the father (Valkorian) was CLEARLY a Dark Sider and was deliberately neglecting the brothers (I refuse to call them his sons) to provoke them.
the dad was a sithlord pretending to be a normal guy like palpatine(look at his eyes at the end when he was looking down on his son). he wanted one of them to turn. thats why he was so mean and never acknowledge anything his sons did. that one son kinda lost it because they went through so much and the father didnt even care. it was all part of the fathers plan to push them to the darkside. he finally called him son after he killed his brother. btw these two brothers are the same two boys training in the arena in the other trailer with the little girl. their dad is the same dude who took her from her mother.
If you didnt get why the Valkorian (the father) wasn't mad at Arcann (the living son), then you completely missed the point. Go back and watch everytime the twins communicate with Valkorian or when they're bowing to him. He walks away everytime they triumph together. Evrn at birth, the twins are turned away from by Valkorian. The adolescent training, Valkorian turned and walked when he saw Thexan (the dead son) hrlp Arcann up. Valkorian didnt want twins, he wanted a clear successor, and them helping and elevating eachother is considered weakness to him. No matter what victories they earned or what trophies they brought back, Valkorian was unimpressed, because they worked together instead of elevating themselves. Arcann, in his evergrowing anger and hatred for Valkorian, ironically was becoming the son Valkorian wanted. The final test for the brothers was the throne room with the lightsaber presentations. If you go back and look at the slow-motion shot right before Thexan force-pulls Arcann away, you can see a slight smile on Valkorian's face. He finally got what he wanted: one of his sons was about to supersede the other and claim the title of heir. Thexan was going to die from the get-go, because he loved his brother and his family, and he held no overwhelming anger towards Valkorian. Arcann was destined to succeed because only he had the anger necessary, the drive Valkorian wanted in a son. In Sith-like fashion, Arcann succeeded his final trial by killing Thexan. Finally Valkorian walks back and offers his hand. That alone tells you of his approval. Its surprising how many people in react videos miss this due to the surface superficial stuff
in the starwars lores its the sith way to have one master and one aprentice..known as the rule of 2....so the brothers had to fight echother at one point to become the aprentice ...all the vader needed was 1 aprentice
This is old but it was a kind of a trial of who would come out on top. And that was the one who fell to the dark side first and still not part of the sith.
Difference between Jedi and Sith is simple Jedi practice balance and complete self control.. Sith practice control of others and complete reign over them.. this is the difference
The Father is actually the Sith Emperor, which is probably the reason why he has little to no empathy...

You girl are an honest Soul and i deeply thank you for that
Jaby listened! You sir, have a lifetime sub

Never let anger and hate control you or something bad will happen and you won't realize it
there father was a sith lord n he wanted his song to turn to the dark side that basically sums up that ending easiest way to explain
Watch the other two trailers !!! They are fabulous and will give context to the Jedi Temple trailer. So good and great reaction video.
React to the "return" trailer of this, it is also amazing but it is also the first one released i believe.
Don't worry the last two trailers are more positive and morbidly up beat.

she went in reverse order! shes like watching these momento stye
nice review Achara

this trailer will always break my heart...his eyes change color from Orange to blue after he kills his brother
i think its means like jing and jang the texan (in black) have light in he and arcann(white one) have dark in him :D
The one in the white, Arcann, was so fed up with his father never being satisfied with their accomplishments, that he snapped in the end and in rage tried to kill his father, Emperor Valkorion. Unfortunately his brother, Thexan saved his dad by force-pulling Arcann back.
this trailer gives me the BUMPS
Ik.I was thinking at first too that Thexan (The one in black ) will be the bad one...but Arcann is the bad one(White)
Awesome Achara ....

Achara is so soft.... sweet.

"Peace is a lie - there is only passion" xD
"Peace is a lie, there is only pie"
Ha, her reaction to the end of Sacrifice was mine. Like literally what the heck?!
That trailer and watching Achara is a better experience than watching The Last Jedi.
She needs to see the two previous to this to get the whole story behind that guy, and to see some good guys kicking ass.
the father is a former sith emperor
Former Emperor, Part-Time Sith and Full-time 'Best' Father.
Welcome to the new republic.
He can't be mad at what he wanted. He wanted the one of them to fully embrace the dark side and kill the other.
I find it amusing, that she watched them completely unchronologically xD

The trailer I think was trying to make it clear that the father (Valkorian) was CLEARLY a Dark Sider and was deliberately neglecting the brothers (I refuse to call them his sons) to provoke them.
It's not that he wasn't mad. If you look close enough, you'd see his eyes glows in light brown.
damn your reaction was good. made me almost tear up lol.

You gotta watch all of them in the order of the storyline
