Emperor Valkorion of the Eternal Sith Empire, Ruler of Zarkuul - Throne World of the Eternal Dark, Immortal Incarnation of the Shadow, and his twin "heirs" Arcann (white) and Thexan (Black). Arcann later deemed unworthy of his father's throne, as was his sister, even after destroying his brother Thexan - which is what his father wanted. (Hence his ignoring their achievements... he was driving them into hatred through neglect. He only wanted _one_ strong heir, and didn't really care which boy took down the other. Plenty on Zarkuul were Light oriented, but Valkorion himself was a Sith - thus preferred a Dark heir.) They were ALL Sith... no 'good' guys here. Granted most living on Zarkuul weren't EVIL... simply Sith. Funny thing is that Valkorion gave his Throne to the strongest - a Jedi. Arcann had idolized their father as a boy - Thexan really didn't so just saw himself as following his duty to the Empire and his father - and that's why being endlessly shrugged off finally made him snap. Valkorion only wanted one heir, and having twins disappointed him. Valkorion was also stupidly powerful - hence why he didn't even flinch when Arcann came at him. His power of Tutaminis (all Jedi and Sith used Tutaminis, but very few were all that good at it... it's energy redirection. How they could "catch" force lightning, blaster bolts, etc with their bare hands like Yoda did to Dooku) was so great that the dude could literally make light sabers bounce off his skin. He could also just turn off your damned light saber with his brain if he wanted... he was all but unafraid of any Jedi or Sith - except his daughter. She had the potential to be even _stronger_ than Valkorion, so he sent her off to be outcasted and experimented on to keep her weaker. Well... tried.
They've always had different coloured lightsabers because they mean different things and some were more rare. The old Republic has a fuck ton of war in it. Probably more than any other time in star wars. Their was literally massive fleets of sith and jedi waring constantly and then the eternal empire and the vong. Tons of stuff happened and its all in the online games, books and old Republic games. Its a lot more fascinating than the high Republic because that was the era of peace pretty much.
@6:30 they were gifts to Lord Vitiate in an attempt to gain his approval. The eternal brothers are a great story and there are some great videos explaining their life and how long Vitiate lived. Crazy stories
There's another set of videos from the introduction of the Eternal Empire following the younger sister of the twin brothers; VERY worth the time to watch.
There is another trailer set after this one. With Senya Tirall and Vaylin. Senya being the mother of the twins Arcann (the one still alive) Thexan, and Vaylin. It is called Knights of the Fallen Empire: Betrayed
When they were showing the battle parts, it was showing them atk Jedi and Sith. Also in old republic there was a bunch of lightsaber colors. But I can understand if you don’t follow Star Wars that much. They were great stories.
If you look closer, Arcann's(in white) eyes glow yellow (sith giveaway) as he attacks and then the yellow disappears when he realises he's killed his own brother. Just think that's such a nice little touch.
My favorite part about this trailer is the fight between the brothers, watch the white one's eyes as he gets angry and then calms down. They change color
@6:12 To answer the question. The Army you are watching is called the Eternal Empire lead by Emperor Valkorian of a planet known as Zakuul who gained control of this giant Armada run by sentient droids. What you don't see in this trailer and is part of the backstory. Valkorian became possesed by an ancient Sith lord known as Darth Vitiate of the Sith race who became the entity known as Tenebrae. Tenebrae had the ability to possess others to prolong his life and so did it to Valkorian and through him instigated the war between the Jedi and the Sith so they would wipe one another out and that his Eternal Empire could take over. He also instigated the war between the Republic/Jedi vs Mandalorians which lead to those Jedi falling to the Sith under Darth Revan and Darth Malak whom where former Jedi so that is the gist of it. This is just the abridged explanation though.
Emperor Valkorion of Zakuul, formerly Vitiate the Sith Emperor, used his powers to drain an entire planet of its life force (planet Ziost), the Sith Empire and Jedi of the Old Republic tried to stop him but failed. The Sith Emperor fled to Zakuul the Eternal Empire (Zakuul is stronger and has a larger fleet of ships and manpower than the Sith Empire and the Old Republic combined). The twins are his sons (Arcann in White and Thexan in Black), and he has a daughter named Vaylin who is stronger than the twins. Lots of cool details I missed the first time watching these trailers: - Arcann's eyes turn Dark Side before he jumps towards Valkorion and ignites his lightsaber. - Valkorion was waiting for one twin to kill the other one first - Valkorion's monologue explains a lot about his philosophy - Valkorion moves fast, he wasn't there, then he was there in front of Arcann - Valkorion's eyes are Dark Side yellow when he's looking down on Arcann - Zakuul views the Force and users as neither inherently Light nor Dark, it's just the Force to them. - Zakuul waged war on the Sith Empire and the Republic and *won*. The lightsabers are war trophies -- the lightsabers of the leaders of both the Jedi and Sith.
If you want more military styled Star Wars shorts from the old republic you definitely should watch the cinematics "Hope" and "Deceived". They are incredibly well-made and as entertaining as this one ^^.
I doubt I’m the only one to notice be right as the brother in black is about to pull the one in white valkorian has the tiniest of smirks on his face like he knew what was gonna happen
In the expansion the Eternal Empire defeated the Republic and the Empire. In the scene where he kills his brother I love it when his eye goes red and then after he realizes what he has done it goes back to blue. Also in the Knight of the Fallen Empire expansion, the Eternal Empire doesn't view the force as light or dark side they view it as a tool to be used.
Senya and Vaylin, Vaylin is a very scary young woman after the first time I saw her I was inspired to go madness on my sorc lmao shame lightning is so much better
It was made by people who loves star wars. Built upon what came before, not tear it down and make something new. Deepen the lore and history of what came before Starwars new hope. Something that felt epic, something that made the universe of star wars feel like it could be real.
The old republic is an epic Star Wars era. Imagine ten thousand Jedi and ten thousand Sith in a war with one another. Empire vs republic. War, politics and espionage
The lightsaber crystal choice in this game is varied and awesome. Been playing the game for years and adore it. You should watch the second trailer for this expansion since it deals with their sister and the visuals are some how BETTER!
I think the reason the armour and technology looks more advanced in the Old Republic era is that the Republic by the time of the Prequels doesn't need an actual army. It can be seen in the Prequel trilogy in TPM, the soldiers of Naboo are nearly not as well equipped as during the times of the Old Republic (which was the height of the conflict between the Sith Empire and the Republic). It no longer has one united army (until the clones arrive, at which point the Grand Army of the Republic is formed again around 22 BBY) but rather militia from every planet that the planets equip on their own. Around 1000 BBY the Republic Military was reformed into the Judicial Forces (which were a peacekeeping force, rather than a centralised army). In the Original Trilogy we're seeing rebels fighting the First Galactic Empire. The "good guys" are poorly equipped and have to resort to guerilla tactics since they're pretty much remains of the planetary militias post Jedi Purge that gathered together, while the "bad guys" have taken on a more minimalist aesthetic that gets the job done and they still have the funds of the entire Republic and the clone army. Still, there is need to remember that the Galactic empire lasted for about 20 years or so, and then in the godforsaken sequel trilogy, the New Republic has lasted only 30 years, which is not enough to finish off the rest of the imperial forces hiding after the battle of Jakku, fix the economy and then modernise and upgrade an army that spans through an entire Galaxy. Edit. Love your content, hope you'll overcome your mental health issues and I can only recommend you play KOTOR on the channel because it's actually very good :3
Even if you Don't play the MMORPG, The Old Republic, I think it would be fun for you to play the Solo Campaign games, Knights of The Old Republic 1 & 2. They Set a narrative for the MMO game to get an understanding of the world, even before the High Republic.
Luke those lightsabers wrapped in banners are the trophies of war from both the Sith and the Jedi that they are giving to their father(the emperor of the Eternal Empire) and he turns away acting disappointed once again leaving the brother to finally snap.
I’d be interested in seeing you react to all the cinematics, mate! It’s alright that it’s not primarily military focused, as long as you’re having a laugh and a blast!
The emperor guy is valkorion he was a former sith but left the sith order in pursuit of becoming basically a god and immortal but was defeated by a sith Jedi alliance
I also love yellow lightsabers. It's neutral in some cases but it usually symbolizes ambition. something that the emperor speaks about many times in the trailer. Its also what affects The white twin Arcann. Ambition and hatred.
The Old Republic trailers were so great. I wish there was more to watch honestly. EA’s Battlefront and Squadrons had some great trailers but these told a story for certain.
Absolutely love this trailer. It says so much in such little time. Sequel trilogy take notes... The offering of the lightsabers from the twins was from both the republic (jedi) and the empire (sith) of the enemies they faced in battle and defeated. The trailer is made to show that this new faction is not aligned to either, and is a credible threat to both. I legit watch this trailer about once a month lol. Make a damn movie already!
The lightsaber fights are made with actual effort. They look flashy enough to be eye gazing but they don’t overextend the flashy stuff to sacrifice the practical sword fighting aspect.
That’s the greatest game of all time in my opinion something about that never makes me tired of playing it. I finished it less than a month ago and I am playing it again for around the 40th time.
If you like star wars and dont mind dated graphics/gameplay, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic had one of the best video game stories I've ever played and I would seriously recommend it
Hey Lukas Depending on your lightsaber is depending what your role in the lore is like Bule and Green is a normal light side of the force like Luke and Rei and Obi and Yod Red is the sith like Darth maul, Vader, Pauputine and so one. But a Yellow or Golden is a temple gaurdian like Leia or these guys that your watching but Purple like Prince Windu was ofc his fav color but also it means your falling between Light and Dark Skywalker and Sith
Alot of the time the reason you don't see different colored lightsabers is because of the jedi's role and position, for example Jedi with blue lightsabers are known as jedi knights they focus on saber combat and technique, yellow are mostly reserved for jedi temple guards, Green are used by Jedi counselors who focus more on the force and are more spiritual than combat oriented, jedi usually can't have whatever color they want
I like how you caught how the old republic era looks better than the present SW. That is bc if you read lore the original republic falls and sith civilization(nation) is also lost. This essentially brings the galaxy into a dark age and tech and knowledge actually digress. many known systems, planets, documented history, and tech are lost only to but were beginning to be rediscovered in present times. It emulates sort of our medieval times when the advanced civ of that time, ie. the Romans, fell bringing dark ages to western Europe.
Oh gooooooooood I could geek out and tell you everything about Thexan (black) and Arcann (white), their little sister Vaylin (good god that trailer will make you HURT).
I hope you noticed the eye change at 6:52 and at 7:11 such a small, over looked, detail added that makes it all so much better
Also theres a series of these and they're all sick to watch
My favorite part about this trailer is the fight between the brothers, watch the white one's eyes as he gets angry and then calms down. They change color
The part where they present the lightsabers, those are the sabers they got in battle for the Jedi and the sith they killed.
Notice the eye of the guy in white change to sith yellow when he gets enraged and back after he kills his brother
OriginalHuman: *posts Star Wars reaction*
Me: a surprise to be sure but a welcome one...
But this is great! More Star Wars stuff like this!
I LOVED THIS GAME, AND ALL THE STAR WARS GAMES. LOVED THE REACTION !
"I usually only react to military..."
*Raised eyebrow* slow smirk*
Wow, never would have expected you to be a SWTOR Fan...
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one! 👌🏻👍🏻🦾
In Star Wars there is actually a type of Jedi called the temple guard with double-sided yellow lightsabers
Just a note: Force Heal has been around for about 20 or so years. It only appeared in the movies recently.
always happy to see a new OH video, always brightens up my day
You better watch all of the cinematic vids
Where you see the lightsabres on the ground being presented its from the the most powerful sith and jedi they have killed bro
Hope you react to the other Old Republic trailers.
The Betrayed Cutscene for Knights of the Old Republic is by far my favorite.
Lots of cool details I missed the first time watching these trailers:
- Arcann's eyes turn Dark Side before he jumps towards Valkorion and ignites his lightsaber.
- Valkorion was waiting for one twin to kill the other one first - Valkorion's monologue explains a lot about his philosophy
- Valkorion moves fast, he wasn't there, then he was there in front of Arcann
- Valkorion's eyes are Dark Side yellow when he's looking down on Arcann
- Zakuul views the Force and users as neither inherently Light nor Dark, it's just the Force to them.
I literally rewatched this yesterday
The trailer with the wife and daughter was also a good one.
Senya and Vaylin, Vaylin is a very scary young woman after the first time I saw her I was inspired to go madness on my sorc lmao shame lightning is so much better
Who here has been watching this guy all the back before 10k subs aka before modern warfare. I have and I still can't believe he grew so fast.
It was made by people who loves star wars. Built upon what came before, not tear it down and make something new.
Deepen the lore and history of what came before Starwars new hope. Something that felt epic, something that made the universe of star wars feel like it could be real.
You need to see the other cinematics from the old republic, those 30 minutes are better than the 3 new disney movies haha
Imagine if this trailer got remade with more modern graphics i bet it would look even better
Edit.
Love your content, hope you'll overcome your mental health issues and I can only recommend you play KOTOR on the channel because it's actually very good :3
Yay! Star Wars!!
This is the star wars i will always remember. Still a lot of potential with this entire era
The old republic era was filled with numerous wars between jedi and sith and other factions including factions who fought against both of them
Even if you Don't play the MMORPG, The Old Republic, I think it would be fun for you to play the Solo Campaign games, Knights of The Old Republic 1 & 2.
Glad to see that you’re back buddy!👍
This expansion is fun, you get use to the graphics after a while.
I’d be interested in seeing you react to all the cinematics, mate! It’s alright that it’s not primarily military focused, as long as you’re having a laugh and a blast!
FOR THE REPUBLIC !!!!
This trailer alone shits all over the new sequel trilogy
We’d love to see you react to all of the shorts if you wanted to. This game definitely have the best shorts. whatever you wanna do we’ll watch
I've been playing Old Republic since shortly after the game launched. It used to be a simple game making its way through the galaxy.
6:24 it’s basically a third fraction... They are fighting for the zakul empire against the jedi and sith. They are called the eternal twins
The Galactic Republic and Galactic Empire has some pretty good Military stuff in it
OriginalHuman: Look at that they have both sith and jedi. *pointing to republic and empire flags*
Play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic! That game is a legend!
That’s the greatest game of all time in my opinion something about that never makes me tired of playing it. I finished it less than a month ago and I am playing it again for around the 40th time.
No joke, one of my favorite games of all time!
If you didnt know the old guy in the armor is darth vitiate, the sith that came closest to immortality, he ruled for 500 years in one form or another.
Played SWTOR for the last eight years, it is a FANTASTIC GAME and I highly recommend it's enormous storylines (yes, multiple) and badass everything.
