We went to San Miguel de Allende and absolut fell in love with SMA, great first class restaurants and great food, fruit shakes at the local market, exhilarating experience walking around town ( good exercise :) Highlight of the trip- the warm, welcoming wonderful people of Mexico!

We’re going to Mexico City this summer and you by far has posted the best videos of foodie places to check out!! We can have reservations at Pujol but now I need to check out more places!!
OK! Just back from CDMX and thank you for the recommendations! We got to all these restaurants at 7:00 and avoided the crowds. Each one was great. Madre was nice and the most casual. Had the mole enchiladas. Blanco Colima the fanciest with most atmosphere and fun area with art galleries and Rosetta Panderian almost across the street. Rosetta for breakfast was, of course, crowded but just take your treats to the park right around the corner with benches. Also across from Blanco Colima wonderful lunch place Butcher and Sons. Balta was wonderful and not crowded on Friday night. The staff was so nice; we talked about art in CDMX and they actually drew up a chart listing all the nearby art museums! The roof top bar was loud and trendy and coming on like Studio 54 so: word to the wise. Parole on Saturday and we had the shrimp with pasta, way beyond just shrimp with pasta! Great atmosphere right across the the park. For some reason the main dinning room had loud dance music playing (a DJ was at the front desk) so if that is not your thing ask for a different room. We also have to mention the fine dinning at the restaurant at the Anthropology museum. We did not expect it to be so gourmet. As our AirBnB was near the Parque Mexico we ate at Maque 3 times (corn muffins: very good and gluten free!). Great food and service. If you can, get there at 8:00 when they open. Lunch at Danzantes in the square in Culhuacan. Had the duck confit enchiladas with black and green mole. Outstanding. While in the area don't miss the Museum Acuarela (watercolor). First of it's kind in the world and in a beautiful neighborhood and free. Thank you again for all your suggestions and for being you!

My boyfriend and I just got back and we were down the street from Madre. We went there for breakfast lunch dinner and the Roof for drinks. It was definitely our favorite place.

Great list! Wish I'd seen it before my last visit in June, because I'd have definitely visited Blanco Colima -- that place looks amazing. Quintonil was a better experience (for me) than Pujol. Curious what people think of Sud 777 as well. Thanks again!

Hello. I tried some of these restaurants during my 2-week vacation in Mexico City. The food was great! The only thing was that the pasta Israel mentioned at Estufa was not the best. It was just average and I didn’t even finish half of the serving. However, my cousin had the pasta with garlic and prawns/shrimp in butter sauce (don’t recall the name of the pasta), but this was fabulous! And, their ribeye steak was great too. On my next trip, I’ll order the shrimp pasta and ribeye steak! Balta was also great! And, Cityzen Bar was fabulous!

I'm so glad I came across your video! It is very helpful for my future travel to Mexico City. I booked hotel in Centro area City Centro...mainly because of the architecture and design of it. My companions wants to stay at Hilton Reforma...but it looks so boring. Curious to hear your thoughts on lodging..
Thank you Sim. I don’t like centro as an area to stay (too much noice, too crowded and not as safe at night) Tourists love it but locals try to avoid it unless we need to do there to buy something. Reforma is SOO much better. More calm and beautiful (also very safe) I would pick reforma. Good luck on your trip 😉

Hi, I am going to Mexico City with my husband in April and we are so excited to try all this amazing food! I was wondering, for most of these restaurants is there a dress code? We're not really the fancy type when it comes to clothes haha! Just wondering if you need a suit and dress shoes or more casual it's ok? Also do you need reservation for most of these places?
Hi 🙂 no there’s no dress code for any of this restaurants you can go as you want. Some restaurants like Pujol and Parole are more upscale and you will notice people are more dressed up but you don’t need to take fancy clothes. Enjoy your trip to Mexico City 😃

Thank you 😃 CDMX is safe don’t worry. Just stay in the good areas (condesa, roma norte, juárez, cuauhtémoc, polanco, lomas, santa fe) you will feel super safe trust me 😉
I'm so glad I came across your video! It is very helpful for my future travel to Mexico City. I booked hotel in Centro area City Centro...mainly because of the architecture and design of it. My companions wants to stay at Hilton Reforma...but it looks so boring. Curious to hear your thoughts on lodging..
Thank you Sim. I don’t like centro as an area to stay (too much noice, too crowded and not as safe at night) Tourists love it but locals try to avoid it unless we need to do there to buy something. Reforma is SOO much better. More calm and beautiful (also very safe) I would pick reforma. Good luck on your trip 😉

Hi, I am going to Mexico City with my husband in April and we are so excited to try all this amazing food! I was wondering, for most of these restaurants is there a dress code? We're not really the fancy type when it comes to clothes haha! Just wondering if you need a suit and dress shoes or more casual it's ok? Also do you need reservation for most of these places?
Hi 🙂 no there’s no dress code for any of this restaurants you can go as you want. Some restaurants like Pujol and Parole are more upscale and you will notice people are more dressed up but you don’t need to take fancy clothes. Enjoy your trip to Mexico City 😃
