I was born in Poteau. My grandma, Vera Helton raised all 5 of her own kids and then helped raise many generations of others with her daycare.
She went to heaven a couple of years ago and I miss her dearly.
*How you pronounced Poteau with an extra hard "TOE" threw me a bit 😂

Interesting. I may have a job offer soon in Poteau, but being born and raised in the Dallas area it is really hard for me to say goodbye to what I am used to. My husband was born and raised Oklahoma, but knows nothing about Poteau.

That's not how you pronounce it. The runestone is in Heavener. Not poteau. The mounds are closer to Spiro.. Not poteau. Half of the video and pictures aren't from Poteau.
What are you talking about. It's crazy out here but it has great people with a beutiful community. Not to mention these photos do not do the justice. Everywhere you turn is great people and beutiful landscape.
Might be moving near there soon. Hopefully the town doesn't believe in the "pandemic" scam.
This whole area is anti Pandemic BS. Small town southern America did not buy into the BS as much as the rest of the country. I live just across the border in Arkansas and can tell you from first hand experience.

And I couldn't be happier that people just do their own thing and don't buy into the lies. This is SO much better than how it was in Michigan. The city I was in had Pfizer in it and it's controlled by them. Plus, so many leftists/etc.
Here, there's a sense of freedom that most of the US has forgotten!
