thank you for this video it really helped me. from you i learned how to felt a cat head and now im selling them. i get nice money from selling them and im really thankful to you. im a student and i live in a dorm and i had no job and i was short on money. my mom died and my father left me so im not getting money from them. and selling felted cat heads is a perfect job for me because im antisocial and an anxious and introvered and im too scared to get a 'normal' job. i couldnt even imagine being a waitress or a cashier im just afraid of people so much. so thank you again you literally changed my life
That's incredible 👏 so please this has helped you. Makes all my efforts worthwhile to hear your testimony!
Thank you for helping me make a cat for my daughter. She will love it ❤
I'm so glad! 😊
As a beginner I am loving your teaching as you are so thorough and as a cat lover everything makes sense. My first cat after trying this example will be a persian. We adore our persians but recently added a savannah cat to our family. Gosh, after our laid back, lazy persians we couldn’t believe how naughty a savannah is. Thank you so much for making this exciting. I can’t wait to start!
You are so welcome! Never heard of a Savanna cat. Going to look it up
Wow, thank you, the way you did the sketches to show placement and proportions was brilliant. I am looking forward to trying a cat now.😍👏
So pleased you found it helpful. 😀
Wow, this tutorial was really helpful!! I think your process is the best I've seen!! Thank you for your generosity in sharing your techniques!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for saying 😊
Just come across this, so useful to have an easy explanation and see how it’s done in practice. I’m making a cat portrait of my cat who I had to have Pts last month and was struggling with the muzzle part. Thank you.
Thank you. I'm glad it helped. Also so sorry to hear about your cat. Lovely idea to make a portrait in their memory 😊
This is amazing! You’re a great needle felting teacher! Once I get a needle felting kit, I’m definitely gonna try this right away!
That's wonderful to hear. 😊
thank you so very much for doing a normal tutorial and taking the time to talk it through in all these parts! i'm heavily considering getting into felting, and this seems like a great first 'big' project after i've gotten some solid practice in : )
You're very welcome! I hope you enjoy your new found hobby. It's very addictive 😘
Brilliant tutorial! Thank you very much for you time and generosity!
It's a pleasure I'm happy to have been of help. 😊
Brilliant tutorial, can’t wait for the rest , thank you so much.
Thank you. 😊 so pleased you enjoyed it

You're a wonderful teacher 🌷
Thank you so much 😊
I absolutely love these!
I'm so pleased. Thanks for saying 😊
Thanks so much for this video. I love the way you teach - you have managed to make it the perfect speed too. So many are much too fast or boringly slow.
That's lovely feedback thank you so much! 😊
What a great video, can’t wait to have a go, and can’t wait for the adding fur video
Thanks so much. Hope you have fun when you make your cat 🐈 😻
Needle felting is a hobby that I want to try! I really love cats and I want to make a needle felt creation of my cat (not sure about his breed all I know is that is a very cute mixed breed cat). Im glad that I watched your video first before I decide to buy the materials!
That will be lovely to make your own cat! Please let me know how it goes 😊
Thanks so much. Have enjoyed this so much.
So glad you have. Thanks for watching 😊
I've never seen this done before. I've followed from Instagram. Love your work
I'm glad you found me. Hope you enjoy the videos. 😊

Thank you! I hope you have lots of fun on your felting journey 😊
This was really great 🥰🐱thank you ✨
So pleased you found it helpful. 😊
I’m gonna start with making my friend’s cat as a gift to her.
That's so generous of you. I'm sure she will so cherish and appreciate that ☺️ 🐈
Thankyou for such an awesome teaching video. I am just a beginner and I am going to attempt to do one of my Ragdolls.
That's brilliant. I'd love to know how it turns out 😊
I love the turotial and i will for sure try making one myself. I am going to make a Savannah cat
This video is so helpful! I will use this base for Russian blue cat! The narrow muzzle would be so helpful!
Wow Russian blue. That'll be lovely. 😊
incredible, great illustration thnks, have never tryed before, card my cats undercoat, should be fun thnks
Have fun!
Imma make a ragdoll cat! Ty for the tut so helpful!
No problem!! Glad you like it. So wonderful to make a ragdoll cat 🐈 😻
Respect for people who answer comments from people on their videos🙏
Aw I try to as much as I can 😊
Thank you!
You're welcome! 😊
Finally got all the things I needed for it! I had a window of free time yesterday and was able to make a lil bunny for my grandpa’s birthday! Definitely a new hobby!
Wow that was quick and well done on your first make! The first thing I made was a bunny too!
@@FittobeLovedFelts I love cats and rabbits. My dog does too, except she wouldn’t pet it, she would honestly catch it than loose her mind because after she wouldn’t know what to do with it 😂 thanks for compliment btw
@@LPS_459 aw! What kind of dog have you got?
@@FittobeLovedFelts Bernedoodle it’s a cross breed between a poodle and a Bernese mountain dog
I love your video's, they are very relaxing to watch during felting, and they helped so much already in my cat making❤
Verder good thanks❤
Fantastic tutorial! My cat is a black and white female shorthair. I would love to make her eventually.
Thank you Anne. Ooh yes to make your own cat would be lovely. 😊
Thank you it was amazing you make a very good teacher . You make it look easy, I will have a go, I would like to put it in a frame. I have just made a pair boxing hares, so a cats head should be easier I hope. Thank you for sharing.
You are so very kind. Thank you. I'm glad you are going to try it out. Please let me know how it goes.
❤❤❤ thank you 🙏🏼🌹🙅🏻♀️
Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you 🥰🥰😘
Thanks for your comment. Glad you liked it. 😊
I want to make a black & white tuxedo cat just like my very old boy, "Mojo". This may be his last year, we lost his brother last year at 17 yrs old. I eish i had taken more pictures of his face so i could do both brothers. Your tutorials are so helpful, thank you.
That'll be lovely to make a mini Mojo and possibly his brother. So sad when we lose our fur babies. I'm glad the tutorials have been useful.
new to felting but would love to work up to doing my daughters rag doll cat
Welcome to this wonderful art form. Wow that would be amazing to make your daughter's cat. Let me know please how you get on. 🙂
this is awesome, thanks so much for sharing! .cats are tricky for me and I've looked at your photo tutorial before and it helped out but seeing thia is even more helpful, cats are round and angular all at once and i struggle to trim fur to suit shapes😵 lol. im ready to try it agin 💖 edit: just want to say i think that hen print fabric ur using over ur felting mat is so cute, the ones looking up at falling eggs are thr best!😝
Thank you. So pleased you found it useful. Haha yes I love the hen teatowel. We have two real chickens 🐔 🐔and this makes me smile. Mainly using it so the cream wool shows up better on screen 😄
@@FittobeLovedFelts ah ha! i use a scrap fabric to cover my felting mat,its foam, light colour for felting light colour wool and dark for well, dark colours just helps me keep mats cleaner and last longer💖
@@jessicadanielson4543 that's great. I now use an earth mat which so far seems much longer lasting than my old foam pad which was my old faithful but sadly got too bitty. This one is great to clean too with my silicon cleaning disk thing...😊
@@FittobeLovedFelts awesome! yes once these mats move on to be parts inside 'mixed media' felted sculptures I'm definitely going to be trying something like that😄
@@jessicadanielson4543 😄
Thank you so much for this tutorial . You make it look so easy.
How firm should the head be? Like a tennisball?
Once firmed up before adding fur then yes pretty firm, I don't go quite as firm as tennis ball but you can. Just needs to be fairly firm so not to lose shape when fur is added.
I really love this video on making a cat head. Have you ever considered a video to make the cat body?
Thank you. Possibly one day. ☺️
Beautiful….I will try but looks hard..I’m new to felting
Thank you. Try not see it as hard. See it as a nice healthy challenge and take it one step at a time, be patient with yourself and the process. Most of all have fun and enjoy it 😊
Siberian Neva Masquerade 😻
Wow! That'll be wonderful
❤ divino
Thank you 😊
So enjoyed your video! I'm new to this, do you have a video showing how to make/where to buy eyes and nose, and how to apply them?
Thank you for watching and welcome to the art of needle felting. I don't buy eyes but know you can get some great ones on line. I make them. Here is the cat eye video. 😻 th-cam.com/video/F-NFLkg-fFY/w-d-xo.html
I don't have a nose tutorial yet sorry. My camera stopped videoing at that point. I was gutted 😢
@@FittobeLovedFelts Thank you so much. So sorry to hear about your camera 😒
Not me like a year ago posting like 50 comments about my needle felt cat and getting mad when I was a retard and didn’t know there was a special type of needle to use-
Great tutorial, still use it after a year of felting, I made a big old life size fluffball today with this tutorial, not to bad for sm that I usually take days working on😊
So pleased you find it so helpful 😊
I’m so excited for my wool roving to come tomorrow it looks so fun and like a good stress reliever like a 7th grader shouldn’t spend 5 hours on homework and get 20 minutes of my own time before it’s my bed time like come on did I really have to get ALL advanced classes AGAFA anyway I wanna make a needle felted cat as a memory of my kitty who died 3 months ago
So sorry for your loss. So upsetting to lose a beloved pet. How lovely you will get to make a little replica in memory of your kitty. Let me know how it goes 😊
@@FittobeLovedFelts thanks!
Did you use to cotton for fur?
A mixture of merino and corriedale tops.
Were do you buy the wool from I'm in Australia
My favourite supplier for wool is World of wool in the UK. They have a huge variety of wool. They ship internationally. I have seen a few Australian companies mentioned such as www.unicornfibres.com.au/product-category/wool-roving-bundles/
They have heaps of different wools.
It’s my understanding that the condensation can collect in the dip of the exhaust pipe (like a p-trap) which potentially could block it and create dangerous conditions for carbon monoxide poisoning. Exhaust pipe should aim down and out the building with no dips so condensation won’t collect.
Interesting comment 🤔
I have a cat. I wanna start making domestic shorthairs like my girl. She’s a calico, so if I do calicos i wonder what the process of adding color to pieces are without making the face overly bulky and big.
You can add tiny amounts of wool and cut short rather than lots of wool and thick. Build in thin layers. Keep your core piece nice and firm and if you are concerned about face getting too big, make the core shape smaller and slimmer to build on. Always easier to build up than try to reduce down later.
En español seria maravilloso gracias
Can you choose Spanish captions?
How do you do the whiskers?
So sorry I've not yet posted the video on whiskers. I'm planning to do so in the next few weeks. You can use all sorts of things. Horsehair is great! Can also use decorators brush bristles or fishing line. If you find a cat owner with real whiskers that have dropped out their cat then that's of course the ideal!
If I can ever buy the stuff to make one I’ll either make a calico or a grey cat(maybe grey because my old cat which is now dead was grey and I loved her❤️❤️ and calico just because I love calicos)
Sounds wonderful. 😊
@@FittobeLovedFelts ❤️
How many hours did you need for making this head? Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you. I don't time myself as I find it takes away the pleasure. Quite a few hours though 😆 For some who are faster felters it would take far less time than I spend so depends on your speed Nd how firm you want to get it. I'm a bit of a perfectionist too and like to take my time. Sorry this isn't really helpful.
@@FittobeLovedFelts Thank you. Yes your answer is helpful :)
If i cant draw or sketch…will i still able to make it?
I beginner would like to wool felt my deceased cat
Yes no need to draw. I just draw to show you proportions. 😊
So sorry about your cat x
Heh. Came back to watch this video after receiving my wool I waited ALL FREAKING DAY for and started to work at the cat AND APPARENTLY I CANT USED A SEWING NEEDLE LOL IDK TO BE MAD OR LAUGH LIKE NOW I GOTTA WAIT TILL THURSDAY AGAAGA
