One of the many things I love about Madonna is that she isn't afraid to bring light to the topics that may make people uncomfortable. Be it religion, sexuality, personal exploration, world hunger etc. She tackles it all, and looks damn good doing it! Her defiance against her critics, the hurtful ageist comments and everything that goes along with being her. She is such a strong person. You can tell she really loves what she does. No one would put themselves through all of that if they didn't. I am a proud Madonna fan and I speak up when I hear her being thrashed. Some people talk about her as if she isn't even human. I'm so glad her sense of humor is still intact at the end of the day.

Is there anyone else alive or dead in the pop world who's ever been aa adventurous, creative and thought provoking as Madonna, and as wide ranging in their musicality? No one. As much as Madonna has had success, i feel she is still very much underappreciated and misunderstood

Thanks again for your profound review ladies! You totally get it! Even the blood cells on the screens in the background. Madonna once said, “Now that I’ve got everyone’s attention, what do I have to say?” By this, she meant that after captivating audiences with her upbeat, motivational songs and dancing, it is time to deliver a meaningful message. She strives to go beyond a superficial pop show, using her platform to inform people about important issues happening in the world.

This is the song on this tour that made me cry in an arena full of 10 thousand people, I was a mess. .the messages that in conveyed on so many levels are so powerful and would probably be lost on many people due to its dance beat but the lyrics combined with the choreography and Madonnas ability to bring the song to life with just a look or a movement is just a masterclass in how to do a concert .. My only regret is she didn't release this as a single.. Imagine it being played now and the message it would put across.

As Madonna said it in 1990. “My show is not just a conventional rock show but a theatrical representation of my music and like theatre, it asks questions, provokes thoughts and takes you on an emotional journey… and the audience makes their own decisions and judgments ” nothing has changed. She’s a freedom fighter, a revolutionary and no one on her field is able to put a great show and send a message at the same time.

If my memory is not playing tricks on me, I believe that at the beginning of the tour these dancers didn’t have anything painted on their chest. It was added either for the recording of the dvd or shortly prior to that and then continued to be used all through the tour

This song is sang beautifully and the visual art on stage compliments it so well. This performance now in today's world; has a few meanings. As well as homosexuality being forbidden and taboo in Islam and judaism (according too scriptures at least) . I think this back then; what Madonna was trying to portray and get across was about forbidden love between to gay lovers of the two religions I mentioned . She could have used a man and a women to do the hand movements together , but she wanted two men together doing than hand movements .(which displays forbidden connection according to their religion )
Despite what the universe dictates for them -- that they shouldn't be together -- they still strive to find their happy ending. This is what the lyrics of the song are about apparently. In the song lyrics Madonna may have been singing about "once upon a time there was a boy , there was a girl" . However for the reinterpretation she may have flipped it on its head somewhat for the confessions tour , I think she applied the premise this could apply to gay couple as well, forbidden in their own religions to do so.
Obviously as you said it also had the secondary meaning of the coming together of Isreal and Palestine, to be partners in peace and not be at war with each other and not be divided .
Wow... how this meaning has a way more profound meaning now , with the conflict 😢
Peace and Harmony is the premise of the song between two people and religions , to make it between (perhaps) two gay men from states that have always been in conflict for decades . Was Madonna's way of shedding a concerned light on such a sensitive area .
    Love and peace xx

This song is my favorite from the album confessions OADF. In live, it's so good too, a dancing song with a message....
In the beginning of the tour, the 2 dancers had nothing on their body, it was added later.
Sadly still actuallity... peace will never win.... it's so dramatic ... i'm so agree with you.... your words fill my heart. I would love have a dinner with you and talking.... I think brenda totally undestands the world and humans and i love how she learns that to emily. You're both beautiful souls.

One of my lately all time favourites from Confession Tour. The song is same time hauntingly beautiful kind of futuristic 'eternity' melody with good beat also symbolic. Like combined two favourite tracks Get Together (beat) and Power of goodbye (same haunting mood not melody similarity). In the chorus love that 'robotic' choir after changing to a human (her). Underrated, but probably because not released as single? Check also Confession songs in instrumental (like this) and sing along! 😊

I have so many amazing memories from this tour. I met Cloud outside MSG arena in NYC and I asked him if I could get a picture with him and he said, "of course beautiful" and gave me a huge hug. I basically dissolved. 😂
Then inside, I met guy oseary on the floor and he told me my name was "kickass and I looked like a "young madonna". And I basically evaporated 😂. Then Tony Villenueva her dresser came out and started talking to us. I got a picture with him too. Everyone on her team is so nice and you can tell they are so happy with their jobs, and they should be!
Then we went again in Miami. We saw lola and rocco playing on the beach. We kept a respectful distance but it was crazy to see three paparazzi hiding behind beach chairs and sand dunes with their 2 feet long camera lenses! 😂 anyways, great reaction as always sorry for my long trip down memory lane. ❤

This song is about how all religions are the same, the projection video is one cell that divides and keeps dividing into the symbols of all the worlds religons before merging back together and the dancers originally didn't have the star of david or cresent moon and were representing gay men as at this time gay marriage was a heated topic and God wasn't against love of any type as the 06 infantada broke out she added the star of david and crescent hoping to show people that people of different religions can get along

This period in Madonna’s spiritual journey finds her distrustful of organized religion specially the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam that came out of the conflicted history of the Middle East. She however adopted a universal spirituality based from her own Catholic/Christian background and her later deep study of the mystical commonality/essence of the other major religions of the East that included Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism’s Kabbalah, Islam’s Sufism. She had expressed in interviews and public statements that organized religion with its patriarchal hierarchy and rigid orthodoxy/dogma has been divisive, judgmental and authoritarian-which has contributed if not resulted into conflicts, wars and bigotry throughout recorded history. This long and ongoing history of conflicts specially in the Middle East maybe the stark truth why organized religion has failed as a unifying influence for world peace. On a personal level, she has experienced this religious, patriarchal bigotry throughout her career.
She titled this 2nd segment of Confessions Tour as “Bedouin”-an ancient nomadic people of the Middle East known for camel, sheep and goat herding. They’ve inhabited/travelled parts of North Africa, Arabia, Palestine, Jordan, Syria and Iraq. This tribe has learned to live, trade and co-exist with the peoples of this region through its many wars and conflicts. Perhaps for Madonna, the Bedouins are a metaphor that humans are just temporary, transient travelers on this earth, on a journey that she hopes one day will lead to a lasting peaceful co-existence and tolerance despite their differences. For Madonna, her spiritual journey led her to conclude that the wisdom for universal good and harmony is buried within the mysticism of all these religions once you strip them of their hierarchical male power structure and rigid dogma.
The choreo of the two male dancers with the symbol of the Star of David for the Jews, the Crescent Moon and Star for the Muslims, that Madonna joined as the Christian component in the middle of it all, going through a motion of arms twisting and hugging is a perfect metaphor for the ambivalent conflicted history of these peoples in this region. The tragic part is: based on their sacred Book of Genesis, the Semitic peoples-the modern day Arabs and Jews-are distant cousins descended from Shem or Sem, one of the sons of Noah of the Great Flood, and from whom their patriarch Abraham descended from, and Abraham’s sons Ismael and Isaac respectively gave lineage to the Arabs and the Jews. Madonna powerfully captured in this number through song, dance and symbolisms the conflicted relationship of Jews, Muslims and Christians in this region and in the rest of the world.
Appreciate your deep, thoughtful insight and reaction to this number.❤😊

Madonna is representing Jesus coming back to life to try and unite the Jews and Arabs - the red symbolizes the bloodline that unites them! The sad part is that the current situation has seen more bloodshed than anytime before! All the innocent women and children being murdered for what? Hate! So sad! My heart is broken!
