I've been running this game for months just fine, and today I tried to run it and it just crawls. I've tried all of this stuff. Other games run fine. It's only THIS game.

I went from 102 to 48486995929. See how confusing it is when you don’t include the name of what was improved. It’s just numbers of some completely unknown thing and could mean anything. Just add FPS or cpu% after.
You’re talking about the resolution correct? Where you set it to 100% then. It goes back down to 66%? So to stop the game from reverting back to default settings. You have to go to documents>CODModernWarfare>click on players and right click on advanceconfig and turn on or check box mark Read-Only.
I only got to the first step, checking the box for admin and full screen and now whenever I try and launch its telling me I need to scan and repair files.
I have been streaming this game running at 98% CPU usage and it was causing serious issues for me with keeping the temp down. Thank you so much! I have been searching all kinds of fixes and this worked immediately. Definitely got a sub from me :)
I've set my Modern Warfare priority class to normal, but when back to the game and then back to process lasso, the priority class is back to below normal.
I would like to add one more fix regarding Process Lasso. Under Priority Class there is an opetion called CPU Affinity. On both options(current and always) uncheck CPU 0 from both. You will get more responsive game and little bit of fps boost. The reason is CPU 0 is used for Operating system and all background services. With this you are telling your game not to mix with those services and it will get you better playing experience. MW will run on all other cores and there will be no bottleneck. Try it and tell me how it goes for you.
has anyone realised after the last update a few days ago, that their game has been running weird. literally just before the update, I was easily playing on max settings with no issues, i5 9th gen and 1660ti, but now my cpu usage is always hitting 90percen and jittering.
I haven't had any performance issues, personally, but my connection is now 10X worse. I'm seeing ping around 100ms, with constant connection and packet loss issues. It's making the game nearly unplayable and I've never run into this in MW yet, but it's a common issue. The jittering I am definitely getting, although it's not hardware related. There's scheduled server maintenance today, so hopefully that addresses some of these issues. My bet is, they borked some code and are fixing it in the background. I'm running a GTX 1080, i7 8700k, 32GB of 3200Hz DDR4 ram and a Z390M motherboard. Averaging 110 FPS at 1920 X 1080. Next time you hop into a match, focus on your ping and how much the packet loss and desync symbols show up on your screen. See if the current server situation is affecting you at all. Glad to know I'm not the only one recently running into issues like this.
@@ShortThrowShifting I haven't had any packet loss but my latency spikes randomly, sometimes upto 700ms. Although I was playing whilst looking at task manager and my cpu usage for modern warfare was hitting 85% which is extremely weird when I never had anything like this a week ago
@@786redfire - Something might be up, I've never had a hard crash with MW until yesterday. It straight up caused my PC to require a restart. So, maybe something got messed up in one of the last 2 patches. We had a small one a few days ago.

Definitely the most progress I've made in days, went from it crashing every time it was switching to the map loading screen to now getting a game or two in before it crashes 🤷♂️
ChrisPChikin look up a video on (MSI AFTERBURNER) and download it and you might have to underclock your gpu a little bit and that will fix the crashing issues with any game it worked 100% for me you should try it
It's an issue with DirectX 12, you can force the game to use DirectX 11 with the following launch command: -d3d11 Paste that in Game Settings (check the box for additional command line arguments) Worked great for me and the game actually runs 10x smoother now, hope this helps

Guys my problem is not even the cpu usage, it’s that my disc goes to 100% whenever I launch warzone and not only does that make my game severely drop frames but my WHOLE computer gets really laggy and stuttery and my screen goes black as well. Anyone know any solutions? Do I need an SSD drive?
10:38 if you have space in the vram turn cache spot and sun shadows on it will pre load shadows and you gpu wont have to load them in real time it help for higher and more consistant fps
For me it worked it wont fix all of the issues because it looks like the game isnt really optimised but definitely will increase your fps a little bit and it will be more consistent Btw nvidia recommended it so its not something that i made up you shoud at least try it
hey man, thanks for the video, unfortunately i'm still having issues after i've done all of this, but this did help quite a bit. i've got an i5 4590 cpu with an rx 5600xt gpu, i'm still getting 100% cpu usage. still getting fps drops to 65-80 fps. before this video i was getting drops to 35 fps, this game just won't run smooth for me. i recently ran out of space on my ssd due to the recent large update, so i transferred the game to my hdd and it seems i've had problems ever since then, I also upgraded my gpu from an rx 570 around that time, just not sure where to go from here. I have a weird issue, i bought i5 12600k , gigabyte z690 ad ddr4 , rtx ,3070. With this setup in warzone i have 100+ fps but after a couple minutes fps drops to 30 and cpu usage become a 15% max and gpu usage 30%, but other games works perfectly , does anybody know how to fix it?
Can you share with us all your pc specs? memory and cpu? because your still below 144 fps. I wanna know if its a cpu bottle neck or if your gpu bound. technically your still not running at 144 your dipping down to 115 at times
Dwight McQuarrie i9 9700 oc / nvidia 2070RTX oc. The main reason is because the game barely uses the GPU. Not our fault, activision has to fix that issue
I've been having this problem since the release tbh. I tried this fix but the CPU usage shouldn't be over 70% never mind 90%-100%. The game itself is unstable just like WW2 was before it got patched. The game is set to base its instruction on specifically the CPU and hardly the GPU (literally only uses 4% of my GPU usage lol). Unless they fix the problem there is literally no way of fixing this. Your 'fix doesn't really help since even your game was still totalling up to a 70% usage (the game itself was doing about 30% but all together it was about 70%) and this wasn't even when in game. If you really have a fix upload the video when in game and then open task manager, then we'll see if this really works. Btw I don't like writing negative or harsh comments as I know your trying to fix the problem but I've other upload literally the same video and the fix just doesn't work.
DestroyingGaming 4life the reason it's at 70% is because of the other applications running in the background. The fix was not to fix the overall CPU issue but to fix how much CPU is used with the game open. Before I used this method I was capping at 80% CPU on MW alone. Now it doesn't go above 40%. And I realize the game uses barely any GPU which is bullshit. But I'm not a developer for the game and can't fix that. I'm just sharing what worked for me

I have a 10700k and a 2070 Super Ventus. I get variable framerates at 2k. I’ve gotten it sometimes to 144 fps. One weird thing I noticed was when I was getting 95-120 fps at 2k, I downscaled to 1080p and got 144 fps, then rescaled back to 2k and it was running smoothly from 130-144 fps.
When i use lasso tho and put the game on normal it changes back to below normal everytime i play. It's getting really annoying and i can't play for shit! How can i fix this?

Tried so many things, this included and i cant go above 40-50 fps with tons of stuttering since update. 1070ti, 16gb and i7 7700. No idea what I can do anymore to fix the problem, found an activision thread as well that dates back almost a month with tons of people plagued with this problem since season 3, some had luck with manually switching gpu slots.
John Harrison hey brother. Quick question. Is your game in full screen? If not, change it to full screen. Also what is your field of view set to? Try lowering your field of view to lighten the strain on your PC.

John Harrison the stuttering can also be caused because of the Windows page file. Switching my game over from my hard drive to an sdd completely fixed my issue. Make sure u have 30-40 gigs of free space on all ur drives

I was trying to figure out why my Processor was being highly stressed to the point where my temperatures were dangerously high (this is the only game it does it on) when it was on startup of the game. I have an Intel i7 9700F, 8 core processor. As I am reviewing your video, I am making the adjustments you are suggesting. Hopefully this solves my problems, because I want to play this game without worry that I am overheating my processor.
I had an Intel i5-4590 (4-core 4-thread @3.3GHz) and had lots of stuttering, low FPS (45-60), and consistent 100% CPU usage. I had tried every suggestion on the Internet with changing setting in-game and within OS, and nothing worked. I just upgraded my CPU (and mobo) to the AMD Ryzen 3600 (6-core 12-thread @ 3.6 GHZ). All my problems were resolved....... getting 100+ FPS and 40-50% CPU usage. I strongly believe this game doesn't work well with quad core processors, even though IW's recommended specs say it does. The people complaining are most likely running a quad core CPU.
Ram is another issue people are facing. Some are trying to run the game with 8gb ram and it freezes all the time. They say 8gb ram can run it, but clearly you need at least 16bg lol

After a few hours of playing, i get a constant low fps, not occasional stutter drop from 130-150fps down to 40-70fps, in multiplayer and warzone. My PC is decently high end, AMD 3950x, evga 2080s, 32gb ram 3200mhz. CPU temp 47c, GPU 71c. Changing cpu priority for game from real time to normal, flipping it from full screen to window and back, iIwas ok for awhile after changing to nvidia driver 445.87, but now it happening again after a few weeks wtf! It almost seems like running out of ram feeling, or CPU overload, but only that and discord is running. Any advice is helpful, thanks!
YoltsBp that explains it. For this game I found that the more ram you have, the smoother it plays. Sucks that a multi million dollar project has these many issues. All I can do is try to take the strain off of my CPU until I can upgrade. But it does ONLY seem to be this particular game
@@SwoleyGhost i have a old i7 3770k build also from 2013 and it has 16gbs 2400mhz ddr3 and i found the gane runs fine the issue i have with that rig is the really heavily loaded cpu games like bf5 that use 4+ cores. Not alot of games that do this but there are some for sure.
Out of focus framerate limit means when the game as an application in Windows is out of focus. This means it limits the refresh rate to 30fps when you alt+tab out.

Swoley, this didn't work at all for me, and the only thing I seem to be able to do to improve FPS is to set MW to 'real time' in the priority list, but even then it only gives me about 100 FPS maximum up from about 80 (with massive drops, though less stuttering). I have an RTX 2080ti and have 16GB of RAM, but I'm running an i7-6700K CPU. Could the CPU be the problem? When Warzone first came out I could get around 130fps no problem but now I never get that.

So now I have a stable Framerate of 165 FPS. However, my CPU Temps are still the same, 70°C-80°C. Even when it was unoptimized and optimized, it's still at such high temps.
So you buy a $600 gpu just to turn all settings off or down in order to play the game. That sucks I have the 2080 super and still have little issues it drives me nuts. Cant tell if it's just the way it is or if I'm a shitty pc builder.
Jakob Ruffinen it's just the way it is. The GPU isn't the issue. It's the CPU working way too hard. Until Activision fixes the issue or blizzard finds a workaround, shit graphics for good gameplay it is
My game feels fine in game but even at the launch screen inside game where you quick play it caps out 100% cpu and will freeze other things like youtube up. I find it strange it seems to max my cpu a ton just on the menu screen. These changes didn't affect it.
do this you do not need download this application. Open the Task Manager, (Ctrl+shift+esc). Details. Look for the icon of the game you need and click right mouse button. Select the button (Set Similarity). Now you can choose the cores that will be used by the game. Maybe we'v taken this in last updates, i don't know, but we can do this easier now. check your temps it may be the cause of the problem you can download HWmonitor for a fully delays temp map

my normal game runs at 120 like if i’m playing gunfight but only warzone lags for some reason??

Guys my problem is not even the cpu usage, it’s that my disc goes to 100% whenever I launch warzone and not only does that make my game severely drop frames but my WHOLE computer gets really laggy and stuttery and my screen goes black as well. Anyone know any solutions? Do I need an SSD drive?

10:38 if you have space in the vram turn cache spot and sun shadows on it will pre load shadows and you gpu wont have to load them in real time it help for higher and more consistant fps

For me it worked it wont fix all of the issues because it looks like the game isnt really optimised but definitely will increase your fps a little bit and it will be more consistent
Btw nvidia recommended it so its not something that i made up you shoud at least try it
If you have Nvidia graphics cards it does help. However, some do experience negative effects by doing so. Just try and see 👍🏼💪🏼

i've got an i5 4590 cpu with an rx 5600xt gpu, i'm still getting 100% cpu usage. still getting fps drops to 65-80 fps. before this video i was getting drops to 35 fps, this game just won't run smooth for me. i recently ran out of space on my ssd due to the recent large update, so i transferred the game to my hdd and it seems i've had problems ever since then, I also upgraded my gpu from an rx 570 around that time, just not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have a weird issue, i bought i5 12600k , gigabyte z690 ad ddr4 , rtx ,3070. With this setup in warzone i have 100+ fps but after a couple minutes fps drops to 30 and cpu usage become a 15% max and gpu usage 30%, but other games works perfectly , does anybody know how to fix it?
Can you share with us all your pc specs? memory and cpu? because your still below 144 fps. I wanna know if its a cpu bottle neck or if your gpu bound. technically your still not running at 144 your dipping down to 115 at times
Dwight McQuarrie i9 9700 oc / nvidia 2070RTX oc. The main reason is because the game barely uses the GPU. Not our fault, activision has to fix that issue

CaMo Swamp yes. You can set it to where it stays open even when closing the window. But yes keep it open or the software will not work
My laptop is 16gb ram i7 7th gen 4 gb of 1050ti and yet warzone runs at around 10 fps.

I've been having this problem since the release tbh. I tried this fix but the CPU usage shouldn't be over 70% never mind 90%-100%. The game itself is unstable just like WW2 was before it got patched. The game is set to base its instruction on specifically the CPU and hardly the GPU (literally only uses 4% of my GPU usage lol). Unless they fix the problem there is literally no way of fixing this. Your 'fix doesn't really help since even your game was still totalling up to a 70% usage (the game itself was doing about 30% but all together it was about 70%) and this wasn't even when in game. If you really have a fix upload the video when in game and then open task manager, then we'll see if this really works. Btw I don't like writing negative or harsh comments as I know your trying to fix the problem but I've other upload literally the same video and the fix just doesn't work.
DestroyingGaming 4life the reason it's at 70% is because of the other applications running in the background. The fix was not to fix the overall CPU issue but to fix how much CPU is used with the game open. Before I used this method I was capping at 80% CPU on MW alone. Now it doesn't go above 40%. And I realize the game uses barely any GPU which is bullshit. But I'm not a developer for the game and can't fix that. I'm just sharing what worked for me

ok ... so update .. i ran a game of plunder with lasso up .. it was running 85% processor 100% response 40% memory and 25 fps .. (give or take 4)

I have a 10700k and a 2070 Super Ventus. I get variable framerates at 2k. I’ve gotten it sometimes to 144 fps. One weird thing I noticed was when I was getting 95-120 fps at 2k, I downscaled to 1080p and got 144 fps, then rescaled back to 2k and it was running smoothly from 130-144 fps.

sooooooooo i run a O.Ced 5700xt 27 inch monitor at 144 and dont do any of this and maxed settings and i max my frames on my monitor and in game pushes past 165 idk what you guys do wrong TBH

Tried so many things, this included and i cant go above 40-50 fps with tons of stuttering since update. 1070ti, 16gb and i7 7700. No idea what I can do anymore to fix the problem, found an activision thread as well that dates back almost a month with tons of people plagued with this problem since season 3, some had luck with manually switching gpu slots.
John Harrison hey brother. Quick question. Is your game in full screen? If not, change it to full screen. Also what is your field of view set to? Try lowering your field of view to lighten the strain on your PC.

John Harrison the stuttering can also be caused because of the Windows page file. Switching my game over from my hard drive to an sdd completely fixed my issue. Make sure u have 30-40 gigs of free space on all ur drives

I was trying to figure out why my Processor was being highly stressed to the point where my temperatures were dangerously high (this is the only game it does it on) when it was on startup of the game. I had an Intel i5-4590 (4-core 4-thread @3.3GHz) and had lots of stuttering, low FPS (45-60), and consistent 100% CPU usage. I had tried every suggestion on the Internet with changing setting in-game and within OS, and nothing worked. I just upgraded my CPU (and mobo) to the AMD Ryzen 3600 (6-core 12-thread @ 3.6 GHZ). All my problems were resolved....... getting 100+ FPS and 40-50% CPU usage. I strongly believe this game doesn't work well with quad core processors, even though IW's recommended specs say it does. The people complaining are most likely running a quad core CPU.
Ram is another issue people are facing. Some are trying to run the game with 8gb ram and it freezes all the time. They say 8gb ram can run it, but clearly you need at least 16bg lol

After a few hours of playing, i get a constant low fps, not occasional stutter drop from 130-150fps down to 40-70fps, in multiplayer and warzone. My PC is decently high end, AMD 3950x, evga 2080s, 32gb ram 3200mhz. CPU temp 47c, GPU 71c. Changing cpu priority for game from real time to normal, flipping it from full screen to window and back, iIwas ok for awhile after changing to nvidia driver 445.87, but now it happening again after a few weeks wtf! It almost seems like running out of ram feeling, or CPU overload, but only that and discord is running. Any advice is helpful, thanks!

YoltsBp that explains it. For this game I found that the more ram you have, the smoother it plays. Sucks that a multi million dollar project has these many issues. All I can do is try to take the strain off of my CPU until I can upgrade. But it does ONLY seem to be this particular game
@@SwoleyGhost i have a old i7 3770k build also from 2013 and it has 16gbs 2400mhz ddr3 and i found the gane runs fine the issue i have with that rig is the really heavily loaded cpu games like bf5 that use 4+ cores. Not alot of games that do this but there are some for sure.
Out of focus framerate limit means when the game as an application in Windows is out of focus. This means it limits the refresh rate to 30fps when you alt+tab out.

Swoley, this didn't work at all for me, and the only thing I seem to be able to do to improve FPS is to set MW to 'real time' in the priority list, but even then it only gives me about 100 FPS maximum up from about 80 (with massive drops, though less stuttering). I have an RTX 2080ti and have 16GB of RAM, but I'm running an i7-6700K CPU. Could the CPU be the problem? When Warzone first came out I could get around 130fps no problem but now I never get that.
Also try using msi afterburner as well. But make sure you learn about how to overclock. Helped me a lot

So now I have a stable Framerate of 165 FPS. However, my CPU Temps are still the same, 70°C-80°C. Even when it was unoptimized and optimized, it's still at such high temps.
Could be a bad seal on the CPU from the cooler. May just be a hardware issue?
So you buy a $600 gpu just to turn all settings off or down in order to play the game. That sucks I have the 2080 super and still have little issues it drives me nuts. Cant tell if it's just the way it is or if I'm a shitty pc builder.
Jakob Ruffinen it's just the way it is. The GPU isn't the issue. It's the CPU working way too hard. Until Activision fixes the issue or blizzard finds a workaround, shit graphics for good gameplay it is
My game feels fine in game but even at the launch screen inside game where you quick play it caps out 100% cpu and will freeze other things like youtube up. I find it strange it seems to max my cpu a ton just on the menu screen. These changes didn't affect it.

do this you do not need download this application. Open the Task Manager, (Ctrl+shift+esc). Details. Look for the icon of the game you need and click right mouse button. Select the button (Set Similarity). Now you can choose the cores that will be used by the game.
Maybe we'v taken this in last updates, i don't know, but we can do this easier now.
