    Very informative video.
    I agree that window-shopping(showing A's offer to B and B's to A) doesn't morally looks good. It also reduces trust not only to individual, but to whole industry.
    It is a good rational to keep it safe while you continue attempts of getting a better salary, but avoid the practice of informing the loosing party to the end.
    You should instead decline an offer(within few days) and continue your search with increased expectations.
    On the other hand, companies should also feel moral obligations to offer salaries according to candidate's skills and not based on his/her current salary. I have seen may companies offering higher salary to a candidate who is either from a famous college/company regardless how average feedbacks were from interview rounds.
    I also believe this practice emerged because HRs themselves are encouraging this practice. I remember talking to a HR who wasn't agreeing to 1.5X increment, but said she could do so if I had a similar offer or I come from a more famous company.

      Thank you Sujit for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate that. And glad to hear you found the video helpful! Organization's hire based on multiple criteria/situations - sometimes they need people urgently and they offer more, sometimes they need top B school grads so they offer more. If someone you are interviewing says they have an offer, you should ask them why are you still interviewing? And what if you get a better offer than ours, will you take that? This issue will continue as it has become a norm in the industry.

    I am in the shopping mode and hating being into all the hassle. Didn’t intend to be in one but in 2 months NP, things happen.

      I know some folks are in the shopping mode as the need of the hour is more money to support their family. Looking for multiple offers is not wrong if money is your priority, but once you accept one, then you should commit to it.

    I have been knowing you since ADP days, (2013), and what an incredible way of knowledge sharing has been done here. Even though working for 14 years long, we still tend into shopping mode. I would really avoid that part in my next interview process. This really helped to know my worth and to show commitment towards the company. I would like to add my question here : how to ask / initiate discussion for joining bonus?

    • @ravigmotwani
      @ravigmotwani  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you so much, I believe Knowledge grows by sharing and TH-cam is a great platform to do that. To answer your question, some companies have the budget to give JB but not all. While having your compensation discussion, you can mention the incentives, RSU's or any other bonus that you would be missing out if you leave your current organization and then bring up the point of Joining Bonus. This has to be done tactfully so that the HR person feels that you deserve it. And that by giving you the amount as Joining bonus, they are compensating that loss. Hope this helps!

    This section on mastering salary negotiation and leadership advice is incredibly valuable! It's empowering to learn these skills Mr Ravi♥.
    Could you highlight one key strategy or mindset shift that has proven most effective in negotiating a higher salary and demonstrating strong leadership during these discussions?

      Thank you so much for the kind words, I am glad that the content on my channel is helping people 😊 To answer your question, though the overall discussion decides the outcome, but you can certainly stress on the 'value' part. What value will you bring to the table? or talk about the big achievements or savings in your current role. It can help strengthen your case. All the best 👍

    I've received an offer from Infosys with a lower package than what I've been offered by another company. Can I request Infosys HR for a matching package to the one offered by the other company?

    • @ravigmotwani
      @ravigmotwani  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good question! I would certainly bring it up in my discussion with the Infy HR and let them know about the offer. Politely request them to see if they can match it. You don't get what you don't ask for, so give it a shot 👍

    Sir suggest me one thing please i am working in one organization from last 3 days i recently got this offer, but 1 month back i gave interview 1 months back now i got call from that and now they are offering me slight higher package then in current office. so what should i do should i take new offer or should i not ?

    • @ravigmotwani
      @ravigmotwani  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Shivam, that's a really difficult situation to be in. If I was in your position, I would politely decline the offer and inform them that I have already joined another company. That's ethical, that's professional and that will go a long way. Look at your career as long term. Yes, maybe mention it subtly to your manager that you got another offer and you declined it. Hope this helps. All the best!
