I admire DC for taking THE BATMAN so seriously. Mind-blowing, and what about Colin Farrell!? Man, he's just incredible as the Penguin! Looking forward to this series!
@FRED_CALI Well, I have to admit, it took DC TOO long to do stand alone entertainment based on their VILLAINS, and THEIR POV. And it is an angle that WORKS. Joker stand alone m,ay not be canon in the new Batman universe and all (while Penguin is), but both give a world building attempt that works.
Every batman villain should have its own series and then a movie of batman taking down the villain.

What I find so cool about centering a movie or series on one of the villians (Joker, Penguin) is that Batman becomes a minor supporting character. And as a result, we find out that there's so much more going on with these criminals "off-stage," as it were. I think it started in 1975 when the Joker got his own DC comic book series. Pretty neat.

That's Colin Farrell?? Holy crap, that's some good makeup and acting. I kept looking at him, trying to see anything that clued me in that he's Colin and I see not a trace! And his accent is perfect. You'd never know he's Irish.

Batman only got involved with The Penguin when he really kicked off his crime empire to the next level. His activities didn’t concern Batman at that time.

@@No-jp5mu I still think Batman will show up, and they're keeping him secret, but even if he doesn't, somewhat makes sense. Last we saw him, he realized he needs to be Bruce Wayne, not just Batman, and he probably wouldn't lose sleep over mobsters killing each other.
Not a Farrell fan normally but his Penguin was sublime in The Batman. Looking forward to this.

personally i love this, like we get to look into how the criminal underworld works. into the background of what happens in gothams underbelly between each new time we see batman. how the kingpin of gothams underworld changes in between batman stories. we get to see what batman dont see when hes resting/recovering. i love to see how this will have an effect in the next movie, nd i hope they do something similar between the second nd third installment

I'm curious though. How do you convince the check writers of show like this; "Yeah, people always say the best villains are DC. So let's kick out Batman and make the Penguin our protagonist"!
I wouldn't stroke that check.
I think the idea here is to flesh out (no pun intended) Penguin a bit more so that his presence in future Batman films is more impactful and meaningful.
I can already see them undermining the Penguin in his own show.
Now I think dc is moving in the right direction, if they can't get the heroes movies right they can do so with the villains standalones like the joker, black Adam and now the looking forward to penguin

Anyone who says batman was good, didnt notice that he didnt do shit all movie. He was a detective that was always 10 steps behind. Everytime he started to figure something out, the explosions, the kidnappings, the killing already happened. Not once did he actually figure something out and stop it beforehand. So hes a shitty detective.
2. He used zero technology. Batman is all about his equipment. He was driving a moped people.. the only technology he used was a camera eye lens that he used a girl to do his dirty work while he sits at home.
Honestly i didnt like the movie the first. So i gave it another chance months later.. and my opinion changed.. i HATED it. I realized all these things the 2nd time and realized how he didnt do shit but stare at people the whole time. Maybe its after watching the dark knight trilogy, i was expecting too much of this film

Looks good, and Farrell is one of the best actors working today. The only thing I don't like is its a continuation of that last Batman movie, which was awful. I would prefer they just wipe that Batman film out of existence and pretend it never happened.
@@TheBerylknight 😆 🤣. When watching the batman I knew it wouldn't go down well by some. It was too real. The other batman's were bright an a few laughs. Bruce Wayne was older and just was this Rich guy who fight crime at night. This Batman was about a young Bruce effected by what happen to his parents and finding out his dad wasn't the all good guy he was lead to believe. This Batman was real. No fancy gadgets No training by some cult. He wasn't fighting for Gothem he was fighting for himself hence why the riddler went for those close to Bruce Wayne.

I agree it looks good, but the effects team are really doing the heavy lifting.
Batman has the most iconic and coolest villains ever of any comicbook hero that's why it's such an art to play the characters.
Colin Farrell's best performance is Henry Drax in "The North Water".

Took me under 5 minutes to learn she is Sofia Falcone and was a character in a couple Batman comic series. She was also know as the Hangman in the Dark Victory series. So, she is legitimate and your apparent incessant whining about female characters can stop.
