lovely work on the Swordsworn. Love the Blue and Green. Nice to see some Rifleman love. It often gets overlooked for "Better" heavies.

I like a Rifleman once i have Double Heat Sinks and can put 4 LL on it. It never runs truly well, but its kinda fun to have 4 LL on it. I like symmetrical loadouts.

Tried the Clan Buster RFL-5CS in a game of Alpha strike yesterday and really enjoyed it's performance.

You wanna heat something Sad? I started playing CBT when I was in 7th Grade. It becme my Baby! haha, but was too clunky to play more than Lance on Lance after a while. If you mixed-in combined-arms and aerospace, it was a Nightmare and a game was 3-4 hours Long! Now we have AlphaStrike! and all the Goodies' to go with it! No more limiting hex-maps, and all the 3d terrin you can want! The Games played today are the Games we WISHED we were playing back then! After watching your video, if the game is as Strategic and Tactical as you say,...Thats for me! TY Sir! and Congrats on the CS Online promotion! Have a good one Sir.

I liked your strategy. I use my cheap riflemans like the C in alpha strike as first movers. It is cheap has long range and 9hp. So if i move it first and my opponent wants to focus on it they need some firepower to take it out. If they take out it is not a big loss. If they out manuever it it is not a big loss either because it is cheap and has enough damage and range tot cover a lot off table. If you take the 3n you can combine this with move in sight overheat for 2 and cool out of sight next turn.

A direct fire mech with weak legs sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, so I'm interested to find out how you deal with those issues. As I am fond of the design of this mech and don't want to outright throw it away.

I don’t play classic. Most stuff in Alpha Strike is simpler and has some use. In my experience, as mentioned in the video, posting up a Rifleman behind cover with a good view of the map has worked well when advancing with other mechs to draw fire/attention. If those advancing mechs are ignored in favor of shooting the Rifleman then they are free to continue blasting. Usually my Atlas or big boy that’s trudging down the field pulls attention.

@@Thearmedpainter much like the Hellbringer you park it in woods or behind a hill in the rear for CBT. And hope the enemy find other things to try and kill. With range making it an untempting target while stationary. And hope the hill takes the shots that do come his way.

I think I may have gotten it off eBay. I’m not sure Fortress had one in stock at the time.

Also, your talk about "overwatch" is confusing me. I thought there weren't any overwatch rules in Classic or Alpha Strike. At all.

There aren’t any that I know of. I’m using the term for what it is and not as a game term or mechanic. Explaining the tactic on the table, overwatch or covering fire, like a soldier might provide in real life for an advancing squad. The Rifleman has a good location to survey the battlefield and can put shots onto a variety of targets from that vantage point while the rest of the forces move up, essentially providing overwatch or covering fire.

@@Thearmedpainter Ok, ty. Might want to consider clarifying that in the future.
