note that while Anchor is in play, any scrying is affected by it, so those cards you kept on top in the fourth match from Urza's Commands could also have been bottomed and you would still have access to them (provided that the Anchor didn't get hit with removal)

The last match against Crokeyz though, potentially 3 times melding against an aggro burn, legendary!
Corkeyz was against the ropes the whole time and still somehow almost won at the end. When mono red isnt scooping to you drawing a million cards, you in danger.

@@ProDeathblow The decision to Absence the Epicure in response to Crokeyz cracking the blood token saved him the game or else he absolutely would have lost to all that burn. Crokeyz had been sitting on all that burn the whole game.
I'd say Crokeyz holding out for so long against Control was just as legendary

Quite surprised at how smooth this operated. Didn't believe too much at first in these seemingly very expensive cards, but damn, that was very cool. Always a pleasure to see your artistry.

I remember when you were at 8 and Crokeyz had 2x strike and Play with Fire in hand and he was so upset that you gained 2. Really close game, but I think monoR wins this most of the times

Thought it was because he is the first planeswalker, tho I don't know much about the lore
just because he became a planeswalker, which he wasn’t before melding
Because the simple title of "Planeswalker" only reserved on THE Planeswalker.
The same naming convention also used on Nicol Bolas.
@@bloodwire7152 He isn't the first planeswalker. Based on the lore, PWs exist, at the very least, thousands of years before Urza.
He's literally called "Urza Planeswalker" in the early novels.
32:00 I think the play here would have been to +2 twice and use Mightstone on the creature thanks to the discount. If he has creatures Urza's ult cleans them up (along with that enchantment). If he has spells, the +4 life keeps you alive and you can do it again next turn. The best he can have is a haste creature, but those will need to hit Urza or you can gain some life back and still ult. Using the -3 on a card that can't do anything by itself left Urza vulnerable to a kill spell.
Finally a variant that isn’t just a bunch of counters and UW control cards.Some countermagic is unavoidable but most builders run waaaay more than is necessary
I think Teferi rotted peoples brains regarding how decks should be built around WU planeswalkers
I wonder about that, though. I thought also that 8 counters in UW control is maximum, but look at Greg Orange running 12 in the last worlds.

at 16:20 I think you could have cast urza before the arcane proxy to use all your mana since urza gives a discount!
Would've worked, but was trying to both play and Meld Urza in the same turn as not to expose it to sorcery speed removal.

That was such a satisfying last match, although LVD got greedy against mono red by not gaining more life. Get bent, crocker!
Imagine getting early access to try out new cards and decks and the 1st thing you make is a red aggro deck using 99% of cards from previous sets.
That's skill!
Well, I can't say anything about the first player, but the last is a streamer and he played over 10 different decks before mono red, so I think it's fair to see how monastery swiftspear and the new enchantment feel in standard.

In the 2nd game, I was curious why you didn't do Urza then the Arcane Proxy. You had the 3 for Urza and had enough after his ability to cast Arcane Proxy for full value.
"Keep bottoming" makes me giggle every time
Looks like Urza Meld is going to have legs this Standard. It's a really consistent combo, and when it goes off the value is suffocating.
I just created a UW Teferi, Who slows the sunset ramp deck for Historic brawl. Now I gotta chose between Teferi and Urza, it’s a close call.
Soul Partition to protect your own things seems like REALLY good tech and seems versatile.

In a low creature deck, why no foundry for small jabs at the life total?
We need double blue on turn three for Proxy at times and double white for Depopulate.
If you run the numbers we can't really afford more colorless lands.

How about showing the 'Deck Details' screen even briefly in the Deck Tech section?
Even if it's less than 2-3 seconds, if I can see for a moment, I can easily recognize the mana curve of this deck as a number, how much mana is combined by color, and how many card types are made up of cards.
I'm wondering if it's possible.

I used to always do it until they changed the interface. Now that screen is mainly Pet and Avatar selection so I stopped showing it.
You can always click on the decklist in the description to get a visualk representation of the deck with curve and more stats.

In game 2, Urza's passive makes artifacts cheaper, so there were several turns when the correct play was to play one of the Urza's in hand and then play the Mightstone or Arcane Proxy afterward.

of all the things they’ve been adding to arena in the past year or so i’m not sure meld is going to be the thing breaking it, even if the urza seems decently strong.
Once again, Magic player in the wild wildly overestimating the power of a card or a mechanic.

Counters are not the best with Arcane Proxy.
There are no 2 mana ramp artifacts in Standard, or I would gladly play them.

It’s unfortunate that you don’t let the planeswalkers do their voices line. For me, it’s like a little ritual to let the planeswalkers speak when I play and activate them 🙂

Yeah, this deck looks nice on paper. Problem is it does not work in real life. It gets eaten by almost everything. Monoblack: Liliana fucks everything up.
Monowhite: token run it over.
Mirror match: dont even get me started.
Monored: it’s just a slaughter house.
Melding Urza is almost impossible with all the spot removal flying around.
So yeah nice in theory.
