They did some other Temptation cover songs too. My Girl, Ain't Too Proud to Beg... Some Girls is a great album. Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main Street are phenomenal albums.
I love this version!! My favorite song on the Album. It’s Raw! The original is silky smooth and a great version. I love their version of Ain’t To Proud To Beg! Stones are the Greatest Rock n Roll Band ever!
The live version of this song from the eighthy two tour at there concert in Tempe Arizona is great version sticky fingers is my favorite Stones album Let it bleed is a close tie so many good songs I really can’t choose one maybe Out of time or No expectations for song I would love to see you react to
I love that you are reacting to this whole album. You make some great points about this song. Still love it. I love the lyrics. Didnt even know this was a cover! Thanks!
The Stones have always been a excellent covers band: Time Is On My Side Little Red Rooster Good Times That's How Strong My Love Is Love In Vain You Gotta Move Stop Breaking Down Ain't Too Proud To Beg Just My Imagination Harlem Shuffle Just to name a few great covers they have done apart from their earliest recordings, which were all covers, of course. Then there's a whole load they've played live like Going To A Go Go.
Always loved this tune and the Stones covered it so well. The quicker tempo and country type guitar riffs gave it a different, but nice vibe. Far Away Eyes is probably my favorite from this album.
Hi Biz! Emphatic Stones recommendation for you. "Saint of Me." Maybe from late 90's? Fantastic beat. Enjoy! PS Also awesome "High Wire." Keith's "punctuation playing" at its best.
The Stones were hanging with many R n B bands . The Temptations new ahead of time before the release the Stones were covering this tune and "'Aint to proud to beg"'. They were nervous the Stones wouldn't do it justice, but were surprised how well they did and called them as soon as they heard it and said they thought it was even better than their song ,but nothing is like the original..I miss the stage performance of the Temptations and the great combined vocals.
"Sticky Fingers" for sure has to be next. "Shattered" is probably my favorite from this album and I really like "Before they Make Me Run" with Keith on vocals. Thanks Biz!
Beast of Burden is my favorite. "Some girls" is also great. I prefer the original lyrics to "Just my imagination". Mick Jagger took liberties and gilded the lily. I enjoy your analysis.
Shattered, Shattered, Shattered! Gotta wait until the end, though. "Far Away Eyes" is my No. 2, though. Make sure you check out the Temptations version at some point in your life. The vocals are stellar of course. You won't miss a word.
This one is a rocked out cover of a Temptations song. There’s no issue with sound quality here. This was a conscious decision by Chris Kimsey, the sound engineer. He felt that their previous albums sounded overproduced, so here they went for more of a live sound. You just may not like that style. “Exile on Main St.”, considered by many the greatest rock and roll album ever, has even more murky and drowned out vocals. The next song will test you 😂 btw, you already reacted to the best song off this album, imo. It’s “Beast of Burden”.
This is a great cover I’ve had all the Stones albums there first album was all covers is ain’t to proud to beg if you could play that once again I am sick of people reacting to Gimmie Shelter and Sympathy for the devil they have a tremendous amount of songs
B¡Z, check out 'Waiting on a Friend' >the video specially- IMO represents everything The Stones stand for- musical diversion brought together in a JAM w/a NYC vibe!- won't regret [even if just for yourself].
Check out Hand of Fate from Black and Blue... Not their best album but a killer tune. If you want to do another album, I'm with the people saying Exile on Main Street
Sweet! This one is more Southern Rock flavored to me. That bass line slays. If Jagger's vocal is buried in the mix, that might be on purpose because the vocals in The Temptations original are unsurpassed, so why risk the obvious comparison and miss the banger of a rock song that is their version? Notice how the song changed gears right about the time Keith Richards joined in the vocals? Live at a bar with horrible equipment is exactly what they were going for on this song, I think. Remember, back then they often mixed an entire album as a whole experience rather than track by track. "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)" contrasts style-wise with "Beast of Burden", it seems to me. So they may have wanted to play it down as a single to keep the spotlight on their original song. The songs on this album might seem to be falling apart, but they all hang together as a whole. New York is one theme that has run through all of them so far. New York was even more intense in the seventies.
Many songs by the stones came as remakes and out if their live for Motown and R & B and those old blues masters they covered or sang with like Muddy Waters or Howling Wolfe. You can't beat the originals and Mick would tell you that but they enjoyed playing tribute to some of their major influences and favorite musicians and groups including the Temptations.
I was thinking the same thing about the mix... too much modulation on the guitars, and the vocals get lost. I watched a live performance of it the other day, and it sounded much better.
There is something tinny about this song/mix. Very garbled and busy. When they perform it live it comes off better. It is cool they showed love to MoTown, tho.
Oh my brother please do a little homework. It's a old Motown song done by the Temptations.. His song this with a twain purposely... Dig a little deeper bro
My teen years, crazy about the Stones.
Some Girls and Far Away Eyes are my personal favorites 😊
Cover of the Temptations. They also covered Ain't Too Proud To Beg on their It's Only Rock and Roll album.
Love the reactions. Have you reacted to time waits for no one? Brilliant lyrics and much underestimated.
They did some other Temptation cover songs too. My Girl, Ain't Too Proud to Beg... Some Girls is a great album. Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main Street are phenomenal albums.
Can't wait for you to do "Beast of Burden", one of my all-time favorites.
Already did it... thats the reason i decided to do the whole album
I am looking forward to the next reaction. Wyman never gets credit.
I love this version!! My favorite song on the Album. It’s Raw! The original is silky smooth and a great version. I love their version of Ain’t To Proud To Beg! Stones are the Greatest Rock n Roll Band ever!
Yes!!.

The Stones have always been a excellent covers band:
Time Is On My Side
Little Red Rooster
Good Times
That's How Strong My Love Is
Love In Vain
You Gotta Move
Stop Breaking Down
Ain't Too Proud To Beg
Just My Imagination
Harlem Shuffle
Just to name a few great covers they have done apart from their earliest recordings, which were all covers, of course. Then there's a whole load they've played live like Going To A Go Go.
I totally agree about never hearing a bad Rolling Stones song!
Always loved this tune and the Stones covered it so well. The quicker tempo and country type guitar riffs gave it a different, but nice vibe.
Far Away Eyes is probably my favorite from this album.

Still waiting for you to get to "Far Away Eyes"...it will CRACK YOU UP!
My favorite songs from this album are Miss You, Respectable, Beast of Burden and Shattered
"Miss You" is the best song of this album.. little T and A is good too
T & A is not on this album!
Little t and a is on Tattoo You
@@keithschofield1158 you're right.. my mistake...
What William Fisher said.
Shattered, Shattered, Shattered! Gotta wait until the end, though.
"Far Away Eyes" is my No. 2, though.
Make sure you check out the Temptations version at some point in your life. The vocals are stellar of course. You won't miss a word.
Beast Of Burden is my favourite from this LP

Beast of Burden is a great song. But FM radio in the 80s and 90s killed it, just overplayed it until I could not take it anymore.
Great song a Motown cover
2 more early stones I like a lot are confessing the blues and empty heart
This is a great cover I’ve had all the Stones albums there first album was all covers is ain’t to proud to beg if you could play that once again I am sick of people reacting to Gimmie Shelter and Sympathy for the devil they have a tremendous amount of songs
Awesome rock interpretation of this song. The Stones made it their own. Better than the original imo. But I'm a rocker.
Stones always buried the vocals that‘s the coolest thing about them.
The voice is just another part of the band.
This is a sweet version of The Supremes original.
The Stones do The Temps.
B¡Z, check out 'Waiting on a Friend' >the video specially- IMO represents everything The Stones stand for- musical diversion brought together in a JAM w/a NYC vibe!- won't regret [even if just for yourself].
Let It Bleed is my favorite Stones album. You've done 2 of 9 already, but there is plenty of good stuff left.
You should check out them doing this live. The official video version is really great
Re Lyrics: With the greatest respect...Dude...it's a cover.
Check out Hand of Fate from Black and Blue... Not their best album but a killer tune. If you want to do another album, I'm with the people saying Exile on Main Street
Great Tempts song, but I’ve always liked this version too. Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St are probably best albums to play in entirety
Goats Head Soup has aged well.

The whole Album is Great. The last song is about Carly Simon. May not want to play This except at home. But it's a Rocker! 🇺🇸🇬🇧🐴
I was thinking the same thing about the mix... too much modulation on the guitars, and the vocals get lost.
I watched a live performance of it the other day, and it sounded much better.
Live version is better imo more jam session feel to ot
There is something tinny about this song/mix. Very garbled and busy. When they perform it live it comes off better. It is cool they showed love to MoTown, tho.
Probably the weakest song on the album... Still pretty good though.
agree
This album is one of my favorite albums. Shattered, Beast of Burden and Miss You are my favorites on this album.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh my brother please do a little homework. It's a old Motown song done by the Temptations.. His song this with a twain purposely... Dig a little deeper bro
You just cannot top the Temptations when it comes to this song.
But the Stones did .
This is a cover of the Temptations . temptations is so much better !
Beg to disagree. Different not better.
