Always fun watching young enthusiasts learn that suspension kinematics and vehicle dynamics are actually the hardest things to get working correctly, never mind working well! Good luck!
It's hard to get correct because we all have a slightly different way we drive. Nowadays folks just Google the best and that's what they go for. No idea why they even need what they just baught
I was a driving instructor for a few years. I had this photo I would show students. (Military folks, no kids) Guy was very crudely packaged under his steering wheel, seat belt was still buckled right where sat. That folks is what happens when you lay your seat all the way down to look awesome. Until you rear end someone... I had to explain this to grown folks. It's tough out there
If somebody hasn't said it yet, this is literally what NFS Shift/Shift 2 Unleashed was all about. I still remember the fond memories of me virtually driving out my favorite cars looking kind of like this, with their better-than-Forza bodykits and colorful liveries.
better be bringing her back out for next season though! any crazy-built non-standard engine-swapped car is gonna have plenty of teething issues. I know you and the 86 can overcome the challenges and keep pushing forward!
Jackie, I don't know how deep you went when setting up the rear. If the car is in the air, bottom out the suspension all the way like it as far up as the rear will go. Then tighten everything to spec. Remove whatever was holding the suspension compressed. It'll show you if you have any binding and let the suspension do all the work
Ok got to finally watch this! This one was really fun to watch. You’re an animal! It’s interesting to see that run against newer cars and that keep pace with’m. Can’t wait to see what is in store for it! Thanks for your great content once again.
Love the car, hope you keep at it and get the bugs worked out its definitely a fast car, get it all lined out and a little more power it will be a little monster.
Another awesome video! Seems like the tires helped but if you make the setup a have a bit more understeer cornering in, I think it would bring your overall fight for the car down bringing your lap times down and your focus to positions
Calculate your bounce frequency responses at both ends and then your roll couples. You want your rear bounce frequency 5-10% higher than the front and you want your FRC to be around 62-65%. Enjoy!
You need to read up on contact patch. The lighter the car get the smaller it gets. Wheel & tire size will only change its shape. Pressure changes do change size as weight does. Also, your approach of looks over fuction may be why the car is so ill behave. You may need to increase ride height in order to dial it in. You could delay your downshifts a little, I see so much engine braking. First, that adds temp into the rear tires, and 2nd, it ads unnecessary wear on the coasting side of the pistons...
I can read into it but I do think increasing tire diameter would change the contact patch size? More importantly I think going to a larger and taller tire would increase our tire heat capacity so we can push longer and harder before the tires overheat. The car already drives about a million times better than when we started so I think we’re making good progress, and I’ll keep making changes at my own pace to dial it in:
@GanjaNinja sure, pistons have a thrust side and a coasting side. Most ppl are familiar with the 4 strokes. So, during the power stroke the piston is forced down. During this, the piston lightly rotates in the cylinder. The piston skirt that has the most contact against the cylinder wall, is the thrust side. Thus, the opposite side is the coasting side in the other strokes. I hope this makes sense. If not, let me know.
I didn’t want to have to comment this. But I think the problem starts with lack of Jimmy diggs driving. He’s a possessed mad man. He needs a full time seat in gltc
@@haaki12 he cut to further in the race and started it at the same point on the track so it looks like it disappeared, I think he mentioned in another comment
Probably wrong anti squat and rear steer due to rear axle link geometry... Add front geometry or steering geometry also being not ideal and you have a recipe for headaches.
One Jackie Ding drifting his 86 round the outside, round the outside, round the outside.

Great video, seriously one of the best car youtube channels for actual gearheads.
We try!!
Thank you Jackie!!! Absolute pleasure watching you develop and drive your dream car!!! 🤘🤘🤘

I was thinking the same thing.

Love the car! I believe the radiator to hood duct that you have is causing a chunk of your overheating. Something to look into 🤙
Please make content of the ae86 upgrades please please

The car finally gripped up! It looked legit for once, it's unfortunate that the cooling system isn't holding up.
Can’t watch at the moment but I’m looking forward to watching this evening! Always great content Jackie.

I love the plan. I can send you some cans of spam to go with your white rice diet. Happy building!!!!!
Damn the in car cam is awesome 💯
that was so dope.
BRUH, about time! So excited to see this, and you bring home trophies. Salute!
Awesome video dude!

what is the coasting side of pistons? i dont quite get that...

Wow, a new favourite racing channel. Have you made any new settings on bumpsteer and height after this race?
Not yet since we will have new dampers coming!
Giant E36 wing at 3:27 makes me almost miss my M3. Almost.
this is driving ecstasy.
Whens the Laguna Gridlife coming outt!!!

Are you able to install cooling modifications or does it have to remain stock?
iRacing disconnect 18:47 😂
Why is the car suddenly dissapearing in the rear view mirror?
@@haaki12 he cut to further in the race and started it at the same point on the track so it looks like it disappeared, I think he mentioned in another comment
This is my favorite car! Are you allowed to use an electric water pump? It will solve your overheating problems.... just don't ask how i know!
is the vtec working?
Eibach team rules...Eibach red...strawberry? Strawberry rules?
LOL Window net bro in my country we are lucky the car has a door
Amazing

So rt660 tires are trash? What's another recommended tire on same category that's better? Besides advan...
Most GLTC cars run the Kumho Escta V730. But some drivers like Ben Thorn who drives an EK Civic run Kumhos in the front and RT660s in the rear.
I might be an idiot but where does the car go on rear view at 18:44
To another dimension it seems lmao
it jumps forward a lap from the same point on the track (look top left)
lol I tried to edit the change smoothly but I guess that was too smooth
Whens the next video coming 😭
18:48 WTF is with the disappearing car behind you?
Probably wrong anti squat and rear steer due to rear axle link geometry... Add front geometry or steering geometry also being not ideal and you have a recipe for headaches.
Why a k24 on such a light car? A k20 would seems more fitting.
It’s a race car, need the torque from the K24
Car looks like an absolute handful to be honest. Full N2 spec with rear aero please.
WTF does PUY mean?
Long cai at least 900-1000mm long. 7°-8° Caster, check roll center.
Need to work on the car a little bit.... get it dialed in a little more that way you can hang with that white Civic with the TH-cam channel.
Over 20k dollars worth of work in to a 2k dollar car.
Yes. This is what a phd is.
Very chinesey channel.
HEY! My 86 is worth at least 2500$, I’ll have you know!
@@JackieDing86forgive this non-chinese guy, the largest amount he can think of is 20k dollars
