He doesn't smile sincerely, he's not light and naturally happy like he was before and it's not about maturity, it's about forget the best part of him. I think Nina helped him to be a better person without changing him, it was natural and pure love. They complete each other, the way they used to look to each other was crazy, powerful and lovely. I think I'll miss Nian forever, that was really true love. They deserve to be together, they deserve to live that, to have the chance to try again. I I'll always love Nian.
