definitely. I have to admit I did not finish TVD - I switched over to the originals - but I saw the first 6 seasons. For 6 seasons - although they were friends - but I never saw any chemistry between them. And within two season they were suddenly "soulmates"!? At least in my opionion Klaus and Caroline had much more chemistry. Not once for 6 years did Caroline manage to make Stefan smile the way Klaus almost always did when he saw her.

Why do I think if there WAS only one cure and Caroline TRULY DID want it to transform back into a human, Klaus would give it to her on a silver platter, others be damned? He doesn't want it for himself....he said so. But is SHE wanted it, he would move the Earth to get it for her. That's how much he loves her.
I think Klaus at this point in the series wouldn't do that, even for Caroline. He was dead set on remaking a hybrid family and for that he needed Elena to have the cure. Plus making Caroline, his love, mortal again would take away another (potential) person from his eternal family. What he wants in life is security and granting Caroline that wish would take all of that away and he was not at a selfless place to do that at this point in time. I also think part of what attracted them to each other is the similarities they shared. Their love for being strong and immortal is one of those things. He never met Caroline as a human and it's hard to say if he would have viewed her the same if he had met her like that first.

This love story would have been epic, instead we got Delena (toxic, selfish relationship), no happy ending for poor bonnie or Stefan. Claroline would have made more interesting storyline, they should have let candice King switch to the originals. Kami was okay but not like Claroline was.

The reasons why Klaus loves Caroline aren't just because she's beautiful, intelligent, strong, or independent. If that were the case, he would have fallen for a woman a long time before her. The reasons why he loves her is because she's the first person who will not only tell him no without fear, but consistently deny him, and will even stand toe-to-toe with him. Nobody ever has before her (unless you count Elijah but Elijah does this because he knows he can get away with it due to being family). She will scream just as loud as him if not louder. Caroline challenges him in more ways than one, keeps him guessing, and is unlike anyone he has ever or will ever meet. Caroline taught him to have humanity again, to love again, to enjoy life again, and to even be selfless again. She humbles him, brings him back to the person he once was and had long forgotten without even trying. Caroline makes him a better person without ever wanting anything from him, and she won't treat him differently because of who he is. She is the most genuine experience he has ever felt and that is why I believe he will always love her; no one will ever come close (not Hayley, not Camille).
