I have two PCs atm. Did my very first build last december with a 7800x3d and rx7900xtx, and I'm very happy wih it's 4K performance. Then I salvaged the 5600 from my old pc and paired it with a rx6750xt, very nice for 1440p. Sharing one pc with my husband (thought I married a console gamer) became impossible and now we can take turns on who gets to play on "the beast" and who gets the AM4 baby 😂 All that to say that I'm satisfied with both pairings and it's nice that AMD has prolonged the lifespan for both platforms.
Good on you for building your own. My first build was an Intel duo core e-8400 with a GeForce 7600 GT AGP card. Time flies. I just built 7900x3d/Strix 4090 OC. 4K gaming and VR looks awesome.
got a ryzen 5 7600x and rx6800 and i run 1440p perfectly. MSI b650 tomohawk wifi, 32gb 6000mhz ram, spent about 1000 and this build should last me some years.
On the lowest case 1080p budget: Intel Core i5 12400F CPU and AMD RX 6600 dedicated GPU. On the high end 1440p: Ryzen 7 7700x CPU and AMD 7900 RX dedicated GPU. The GPU can be switched out with Nvidia RTX 4070 if you need to do professional work in video editing.
I just got I7-14700K and RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and I'm now wondering which screens do I really should take, cause I don't see any reason of going 1440p, when 144Hz in screens is now a standard, and this combo can't even guarantee stable 144fps in the games, so going 1440p would be a waste of money. What do you think about it?
Just ordered a custom pc with rtx 4080s and 7800x3d, messed up with an audio card as I thought I needed an extra one for proper gaming (my last pc was from late 2000s :D), but got upgraded to x670e from b650. I've been doing a lot of research of this combo and the 7900xtx and from what I can tell both combos run 1440p at 240 with zero issues you can run these combos at 4k and get 165 on some games so you should be more than solid

save money and buy a 7800 xt. will probide you with all of your 1440p gaming needs and your wallet will thank you. you could also use the savings to buy a beefier psu or a ryzen 7 5700x3d.
I think it's more of an accessibility thing to make it easier for people to buy the cpu they need. Of course you can buy one off Aliexpress like I did, but I suppose he could have mentioned it as another option.

@@akshaygawande5480 Most AAA games are heavily gpu intensive so it will be fine. But even when you're playing cpu intensive games, but as long as you stay in 1440p gaming, it will be perfectly fine and won't bottleneck anything. I don't know about 4K gaming though.
Recently built my first ever PC and I went with a 14900K with an RTX 4090 Strix OC. So far so good. I was concerned about getting the 14900KS given the additional heat it would generate and given it was my first ever build, I was not going for a water cooled build, otherwise would have gone for the 14900KS.

Had RX 6800 and wanted to upgrade. It was either 7900 GRE or 4070 Super. While I lost 4 gigs of VRAM, all the quality of life stuff was a deciding factor for me.

there is a card that costs almost 300dls more so wich one do you think is better?. a fairer comparision would have been the 7900 XT in terms or pricing and performance... if you dont care AT ALL about RT not like you cant do it with AMD, the 7900 xt is as fast as the NORMAL 4070 in normal RT, not Path tracing thats a different story... but the 7900 xt is around 5 to 10% faster than the 4070 ti super in raster so pick the one you like more, in terms of power consumption is 280w vs 320w so not much difference especially if you do what you should with AMD cards that is undervolting and get better performance without overclocking at all but still. AMD can be said is better for people who like tweaking a bit, Nvidia more for plug and play gamers and has better techs like DLSS, still waiting to see FSR 3.1 that is gonna arrive in 3 months in God Of War Ragnarok, hopefully they catch on Nvidia´s DLSS but i doubt it... but hopefully, the other thing would be the price, 100dls cheaper the 7900 xt compared to the nvidia counterpart.
Im running 12100f and the rx6600 and believe me, im still amazed by the performance... Do your research, some of these youtubers reviews are geared towards expensive low value build. Look for value you'll find it.

so much BS the RX6600 isnt even faster than the arc a580 but here you are saying the 6600 beats the a750 WOW. no one with a budget of about $300 or below for a GPU should be buying anything from Nvidia or AMD, unless you find a 6700xt/6750xt for that price, the a580/a750/a770 are the fastest and cheapest GPU's at that price point anyone saying otherwise is just hating or doesn't know what they are talking about. a580 >= rx6600 for $50 cheaper a750 >= rtx3060/ rx6600xt/6650xt and its $40-80 cheaper a770 >= rtx4060/3060ti/7600/7600xt/6700xt/6750xt for around the same $300 price

In pretty much all of our testing the Arc A750/A580 are simply too inconsistent on a game by game basis. Good in some titles, terrible in others. As far as 'hating', I really WANT intel GPUs to be smash it - we need more competition in the budget end of the market. But we run all of our own data (as you can see from all of the graphs in the video) and based on this data Arc is simply too difficult to recommend right now, even if I really want to

The i9 is (slightly) faster in absolute terms, but the 7950X is still a plenty quick enough chip and has the better upgrade options! :) I think you picked good
Why not pair the 7700xt with a ryzen 5600? I checked and it's not gonna cause bottleneck so why spend more money on 7600 and am5 platform and more expensive ddr5 ram for this "budget 1440p"
I have a 5900x (am4) I bought a 7900xt and have that bottleneck because personally I’m only trying to play 1080p high fps any recommendations. I’m going to return my 7900xt.
That was some serious A750 hatred with old ass benchmarks where it performs comparrably the worst. 1080p 150+FPS is like trying to do dragrace with a truck. Pairing Tarfield with video editing as almost sick, you must know Intel Arc crushes even Nvidia in video editing but the Tarfield CEO hates ARC and refuses to cooperate. This all when you first say intel ARC will not be considerred at all. Now, then about the acutal pairings: 1080p: 12400F +6600 at $305 is not bad, but 3600 + 6650XT at $295 is better. 1440p: 7600X + 7700XT at $585 is nice, but 7500f + 6800 at $525 is nicer. 4k: 7800X3D + 7900XT at $950 or simply go for the 4090 at $1920 for the combo, but you are probably better off waiting for the 5090.

If you upgrade from 1080 to 4080s, you definitely need a 2k or high refresh rate minitor first. It would be wasted of money if you keep using monitor for 1080 GPU. Usually, CPU bottleneck the application speed or game FPS, not GPU. 1160K is good enough to play recent games with potentially high FPS.
I agree that 4070ti super is entry level 4k. However there are some delicious offers on the 7900xtx right now. I have seen one for £680. I would have jumped on it if I didn’t already have an Nvidia gpu.

Ryzen 5 7600 for AM5 Intel I5 13400f intel Ryzen 5 5600x for AM4 (You Could also go with a Ryzen 7 5700x) For a new build I would pick the Ryzen 5 7600
There's a few things you can do: If you're wanting to do the $~550/~$350 (GPU/CPU) split, I would recommend buying the Ryzen 7 7800X3D instead of the Ryzen 9 7900X because it is not only cheaper but also has way better gaming performance as it is the best gaming CPU you can buy. But the GPU is fine, I would probably recommend getting the RX 7900 GRE instead, but they're both basically the same GPU price to performance wise. Another thing you can do with the $900 is spend more on the GPU and less for the CPU (~$700/~$200) by getting the RX 7900 XT and the Ryzen 7600X. But this all depends on the type of games you play, whether they are more GPU or CPU intensive, but I would still just recommend the first option though and switching out the Ryzen 7 7900X for the Ryzen 7800X3D.

I think your build is almost perfect if your PSU has golden certificate, if your want to upgrade something it is probable that you Will have to buy a better psu

You really should mention cards that have been overclocked out of the box like the 7900xtx taichi edition from asrock which is pretty much in a whole other class itself it cuz out performs the reference card and most other 7900xtx cards, it’s a beast of a card check it out ! It really should be considered like a 7950xtx lol

You got the better gpu as far as options and performance the only thing you would gain by swapping is the price…and for 900-1200 I would want all the options along with performance your pretty much past the saving money option once your over 900 bucks
I dissagree with your 1080 "high-end" version. Even on a tight budget you should be getting a 7600+either rtx 4070 or a 7800. Is the CPU bottlenecking? Sure. 5-10%. You, and a lot of other people, would say "so i'm paying 10% worth of the GPU for nothing". Yes and no. Even if it's 90-95% utilized, you'd still get well above a 4060. On a 144hz panel, that matters. On a 4060? It WILL drop below 60 in high demanding areas in a lot of games. The best combo that doesn't break the bank for 1080 is 7800x3D + 4070 Super. And you're good for YEARS on that resolution with well above 100fps on all games. 4060 is gonna be dead in a year or 2.

@Official_YeshuaNasi If you're referring to the setup with the i7, it is more than capable of pushing the 4070ti super to its limits with no bottleneck at all resolutions. The 7600 or 7700 (for more productivity and slightly better gaming performance) would deliver marginal to no bottlenecks especially at 1440p resolution with the 7700 delivering slightly greater results. It all comes down to resolution, if you're gaming at 1440p or 4k a cheaper ryzen 7 7700 would be sufficent. If you like to game at 1080p the difference increases and you might wanna consider getting something faster such as the i7 or 7800x3d for amd.

1440p is comfortable with the 6600 max setting 80 fps most games average
So I got a RX 6750xt with a r5 7500f cpu can't wait to build my first pc with them.

I have the 7600 and the gre and I game at 4k and its good. HFW plays at native 4k 50+ fps and you can use fsr if you want.

Had RX 6800 and wanted to upgrade. It was either 7900 GRE or 4070 Super. While I lost 4 gigs of VRAM, all the quality of life stuff was a deciding factor for me.

The gre may bottleneck the x3d as the x3d is a higher-end gpu, it may be worth to upgrade gpu.

there is a card that costs almost 300dls more so wich one do you think is better?. a fairer comparision would have been the 7900 XT in terms or pricing and performance... if you dont care AT ALL about RT not like you cant do it with AMD, the 7900 xt is as fast as the NORMAL 4070 in normal RT, not Path tracing thats a different story... but the 7900 xt is around 5 to 10% faster than the 4070 ti super in raster so pick the one you like more, in terms of power consumption is 280w vs 320w so not much difference especially if you do what you should with AMD cards that is undervolting and get better performance without overclocking at all but still. AMD can be said is better for people who like tweaking a bit, Nvidia more for plug and play gamers and has better techs like DLSS, still waiting to see FSR 3.1 that is gonna arrive in 3 months in God Of War Ragnarok, hopefully they catch on Nvidia´s DLSS but i doubt it... but hopefully, the other thing would be the price, 100dls cheaper the 7900 xt compared to the nvidia counterpart.

If both has same price, go for 4070 Ti Super. If 7900 GRE is like 100$-200$ cheaper go for 7900 GRE.

Im running 12100f and the rx6600 and believe me, im still amazed by the performance... Do your research, some of these youtubers reviews are geared towards expensive low value build. Look for value you'll find it.

no one with a budget of about $300 or below for a GPU should be buying anything from Nvidia or AMD, unless you find a 6700xt/6750xt for that price, the a580/a750/a770 are the fastest and cheapest GPU's at that price point anyone saying otherwise is just hating or doesn't know what they are talking about.
a580 >= rx6600 for $50 cheaper
a750 >= rtx3060/ rx6600xt/6650xt and its $40-80 cheaper
a770 >= rtx4060/3060ti/7600/7600xt/6700xt/6750xt for around the same $300 price

In pretty much all of our testing the Arc A750/A580 are simply too inconsistent on a game by game basis. Good in some titles, terrible in others. As far as 'hating', I really WANT intel GPUs to be smash it - we need more competition in the budget end of the market. But we run all of our own data (as you can see from all of the graphs in the video) and based on this data Arc is simply too difficult to recommend right now, even if I really want to

Intel has no upgrade path, bit there will be more am5 ryzen cpus so good buy.
The i9 is (slightly) faster in absolute terms, but the 7950X is still a plenty quick enough chip and has the better upgrade options! :) I think you picked good

Why not pair the 7700xt with a ryzen 5600? I checked and it's not gonna cause bottleneck so why spend more money on 7600 and am5 platform and more expensive ddr5 ram for this "budget 1440p"

That was some serious A750 hatred with old ass benchmarks where it performs comparrably the worst.
1080p 150+FPS is like trying to do dragrace with a truck.
Pairing Tarfield with video editing as almost sick, you must know Intel Arc crushes even Nvidia in video editing but the Tarfield CEO hates ARC and refuses to cooperate.
This all when you first say intel ARC will not be considerred at all.
Now, then about the acutal pairings:
1080p: 12400F +6600 at $305 is not bad, but 3600 + 6650XT at $295 is better.
1440p: 7600X + 7700XT at $585 is nice, but 7500f + 6800 at $525 is nicer.
4k: 7800X3D + 7900XT at $950 or simply go for the 4090 at $1920 for the combo, but you are probably better off waiting for the 5090.

With that CPU, you won't be CPU bottlenecked for a long time. It will drive current and future GPUs just fine.

If you upgrade from 1080 to 4080s, you definitely need a 2k or high refresh rate minitor first. It would be wasted of money if you keep using monitor for 1080 GPU.
Usually, CPU bottleneck the application speed or game FPS, not GPU. 1160K is good enough to play recent games with potentially high FPS.

There's a few things you can do:
If you're wanting to do the $~550/~$350 (GPU/CPU) split, I would recommend buying the Ryzen 7 7800X3D instead of the Ryzen 9 7900X because it is not only cheaper but also has way better gaming performance as it is the best gaming CPU you can buy. But the GPU is fine, I would probably recommend getting the RX 7900 GRE instead, but they're both basically the same GPU price to performance wise.
Another thing you can do with the $900 is spend more on the GPU and less for the CPU (~$700/~$200) by getting the RX 7900 XT and the Ryzen 7600X. But this all depends on the type of games you play, whether they are more GPU or CPU intensive, but I would still just recommend the first option though and switching out the Ryzen 7 7900X for the Ryzen 7800X3D.

You really should mention cards that have been overclocked out of the box like the 7900xtx taichi edition from asrock which is pretty much in a whole other class itself it cuz out performs the reference card and most other 7900xtx cards, it’s a beast of a card check it out ! I dissagree with your 1080 "high-end" version.
Even on a tight budget you should be getting a 7600+either rtx 4070 or a 7800. Is the CPU bottlenecking? Sure. 5-10%.
You, and a lot of other people, would say "so i'm paying 10% worth of the GPU for nothing". Yes and no.
Even if it's 90-95% utilized, you'd still get well above a 4060. On a 144hz panel, that matters. On a 4060? It WILL drop below 60 in high demanding areas in a lot of games.
The best combo that doesn't break the bank for 1080 is 7800x3D + 4070 Super. And you're good for YEARS on that resolution with well above 100fps on all games.
4060 is gonna be dead in a year or 2.

@Official_YeshuaNasi If you're referring to the setup with the i7, it is more than capable of pushing the 4070ti super to its limits with no bottleneck at all resolutions. The 7600 or 7700 (for more productivity and slightly better gaming performance) would deliver marginal to no bottlenecks especially at 1440p resolution with the 7700 delivering slightly greater results. It all comes down to resolution, if you're gaming at 1440p or 4k a cheaper ryzen 7 7700 would be sufficent. If you like to game at 1080p the difference increases and you might wanna consider getting something faster such as the i7 or 7800x3d for amd.
