Well done Sanderstead! Really enjoy these from Perth Australia. Village cricket fix for a big fan. Keep em coming. For the record my favourite film is A Few Good Men.
Have to agree with you Dan. McKinnon was arguably one of the best bat's in the q's last year, Dev and Greg seem both good enough to open the bowling for the ones (truly bizarre Greg is in the twos when he bowls good areas and decent speeds and can bat). Greg P as ex skipper is definitely a one's player if he still wanted to play that level, and pinky seems one hell of a find. That's not factoring the rest of the team who could all easily hold it up in the one's and also the few that played Friday but not Saturday game. Really strong squad, hopefully a full season next year will push Sanderstead to the next level
I think so - having two strong teams will be great for everyone. Our thirds are good too! Availability will be the issue - if COVID has dies down, or a vaccine is ready, then alternatives to cricket will be back on the menu for many.....
Oh, wow! Well done! That was really well batted, bowled and fielded. I say, Dan, I have to agree with you about the shirts needing to be tucked in. In Keysey's defence, that was his pullover, if my eyes did not deceive me (and they're codger's eyes!). I also am not overly fond of umpires not at least trying to dress the part. At least I haven't seen a barefoot umpire in any of your videos, unlike someone else's. No names, no pack drill :-) Anyroad up, great show; the Seconds did really well.
andy moore brilliant film! One of the great juxtapositions having Hollywood legend Burt Lancaster in a quirky Independent Scottish film. Mine is actually Nashville by Robert Altman!
Dan sorry to say but Keys’y had a jumper on , you don’t tuck them in and what a great catch by the Cornish Vettori ( Matt Harris) to win the league . Can’t wait to see how you lads go this year
Cracking performance that. No better feeling than being in field when your teams in full flow pushing the championship. I think Pinky may well be pushing to get in to the 1s next year. Favourite film is Pitch Black.
Congratulations to the league champions. I agree with Dan's "gap" comment. From what I've seen in this truncated season, there are a number of players in the 2s that would hold their own in the 1st XI. (Top 3 fav films: "2001: A Space Oddysey"; "The Godfather" and "Fargo".
Dev and Greg could easily still play in the 1st eleven. More fun and success this year for the 2nds. Happy to be able to watch up on the Baltic coast of germany. The wonder of modern comms and your great quality videos
What a good game and congradulations on ur excellent win and I hope you enjoy the Pilgrims. One question how many sixes can a batsman's hit before you run out of balls cos there must be a few that stay hidden. Looking forward to the next game & another thank-you to the cameraman who does an excellent job. As for films & favourite I reckon The Green Mile was pretty good.
Well done Sanderstead Seconds...and yes I agree the gap between Seconds and Firsts does seem far less. Airplane...every time you watch it you see or hear a gag you missed last time round...Get the clearance Clarence...Roger Roger...
You should definitely think about filming both the 1st and 2nds every week next year! Hopefully get another camera and get on it! Great work and enjoyed that 👍 congratulations lads 👍
Momin Hussain nothing happens, that’s it sadly - would have been good to have a play off against someone. I felt the gunshots were right for the Monday LMS match but not for a “proper” game
Sootycork one of my favourites for sure! I remember seeing it first when I was about 14 - blown away, and it may have been my favourite for a while. However, it is now Nashville (Robert Altman)
25:30 Yes, to compliment the campaign against LBW appeals from fielders square of the wicket the campaign for appropriate dress on the field should be implemented... this should include banning the wearing of 'trainers' (plimsolls as they were referred to in my day).
Congrats to your 2nd XI for the win. So is it normal that you don't play any type of finals? Also, my favourite film is a toss up between The Sting and The Great Escape.
Take aways from the match: Harris takes a catch, league win, some brilliance in the slips, top day all round for the club. I think Gregg is the first player I've seen nurdle one for six. After his spells yesterday and today Dev looks like he should be opening the bowling in the 1st XI. And most importantly... Shirts tucked in isn't the best look, but not wearing the club cap (or white wide brim) and proper club shirt in proper league matches are far bigger cardinal sins of playing attire and should definitely be a shoe for each infraction...
[1] Film: The Big Sleep (it's Bogart and Bacall, nuff said). [2] 1sts vs 2nds - the 2nds are better to watch because they are more consistent. On talent, if both teams played at the peak of their powers, the 1sts would win - but I have yet to see that [1st's at peak] happen since I have been watching the channel. Often you get a standout performance [or two] in a winning [or, more likely, losing] effort but total team performances are thin on the ground. Thus... I reckon, if you played 10 standard games between the 1sts and 2nds, the 2nds would probably win more through sheer consistency and cohesiveness.
I think the 1s would win most of the time. As you suggest, we haven't seen their full potential yet. They got quite close to beating Sutton 1s on Saturday - and Sutton are a solid Prem/Div 1 club.
There’s a midweek game (bit like Sunday XI) on Wednesday and a 3s/4s match on Saturday. That’s it for home games. You would be very welcome - our bar set-up is COVID compliant.
Congrats Sanderstead 2s. I recognise the same issue with the club I played for. The seconds were a better unit and they played better because of it. Once you start picking individuals from that team and promote them it often disrupts the player and that unit. A few players are in the frame for that though. Matt Harris is the most improved player at the Saw Mill. Oh, and Pretty in Pink
@@SandersteadCCTV i certainly agree that the gap between the 2nds and 1st has closed. It looks like there are a number of former 1st teamers which is alway useful and some good additions like Pinkie (is he a Graham Greene character?) who seems one of those busy cricketers which are always useful. And you can't forget the Cat like left arm spin who looks to be bowling constantly though with the similar fielding and batting inconsistencies of Tuffers.
Massive congrats to the 2s on their league win from all at Walton Le Dale! Ours 2s play their Semi Final next Saturday. Also my fave film is Black Hawk Down!
Well done Sanderstead! Really enjoy these from Perth Australia. Village cricket fix for a big fan. Keep em coming. For the record my favourite film is A Few Good Men.
What a catch from Harris, not often you hear that
Congrats from Italy! Great viewing!
Arthur Hooper thanks
5:22 'Dali inspired sight screen'... Nice to see cricket experimenting fusion with other lesser Arts.
You know it's your day when Harris clings on to that 😂
Michael Leedham unbelievable! He’s turned into Paul Collingwood this weekend 😂
Harris looks like a different man this season, really pleased for him

Brilliant teamwork! Congrats on the season.
Well done to the 2s, so many special moments in that match, really enjoyed following them this season!
So have i - and the 1st XI too!
First Ball of the video
Me: “yeah.... that’s Jimmy”
Watching from Adelaide South Australia .Favourite movie "Forest Gump " .
Congratulations 🎊......an empathetic win ..and why not! Thoroughly enjoyed the match and whole series of matches on YT.
Oh, wow! Well done! That was really well batted, bowled and fielded. I say, Dan, I have to agree with you about the shirts needing to be tucked in. 17:50 So much of the great game is played in the mind. 3 words sum it up - pressure, pressure, pressure....
absolutely right!
Very impressed with the Dali inspired sightscreen pun. 👍👍👍
Yes, makes one think... cricket leads art.
Another great game.
Fantastic all around team performance. Some super slip catches
Power to the club.
Favourite film.
Field of dreams.
Regards
Rob D
Thanks
1’s and 2’s definitely stronger this year for sure more competition for places creating better standards on both fronts.
Anthony Phillips absolutely.
Fantastic bowling and fielding I really enjoyed that 👏👏👏👏👏
Great win Dan - fielding was top notch From SCC today. Best movie: Sexy Beast with Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley!
Well played the 2's & congrats on the league win... thoroughly entertaining as always Dan, thank you.
John Eades cheers!
12:40 The greatest film of all time is 'Local Hero' (1983). I am guessing DA's is 'Oh, You Are Awful' staring Dick Emery (about 1972 'ish').
andy moore brilliant film! One of the great juxtapositions having Hollywood legend Burt Lancaster in a quirky Independent Scottish film. Mine is actually Nashville by Robert Altman!
Terrific performance over the two days, especially in the field. Well-deserved wins both times. And 'Casablanca'.
Keith Olding love Casablanca! But my favourite is Nashville
Dan sorry to say but Keys’y had a jumper on , you don’t tuck them in and what a great catch by the Cornish Vettori ( Matt Harris) to win the league . Can’t wait to see how you lads go this year
Same here - so glad it looks like we’ll be starting on time! Can’t wait....
Congratulations guys!! Brilliant end to the season!
Awesome work lads. !st team vs 2nd team end of season game perhaps? Would be interesting....
Sadly we can't fit that in - pitch renovations need to start
Cracking performance that. No better feeling than being in field when your teams in full flow pushing the championship. I think Pinky may well be pushing to get in to the 1s next year.
Favourite film is Pitch Black.
Haven't seen pitch black
Congratulations, thoroughly deserved. Pulp Fiction !
Agree about the quality of the 2nd XI this year. Clearly inspired by Josh’s continual sledging of his own team mates!
Nice film choices!
Congrats to the team. An excellent team effort.
Congratulations on the win and the league aswell
Well done, great win from Holsworthy Cricket Club in Devon.....and How the West Was Won or The Longest Day......stay safe...
Nashville! Not really big into war/westerns. Great films though. Lord Handley's fave is Longest Day - he was actually there when it was filmed!
Well done the two's!
Well deserved!
And Battle of Britain for best film
Oh yes Stefan look at you!! Well done boys
Dev and Greg could easily still play in the 1st eleven. More fun and success this year for the 2nds. Happy to be able to watch up on the Baltic coast of germany. The wonder of modern comms and your great quality videos
Thanks David!
Great performance lads. Yogi the Ian Botham of Sanderstead and great innings by Boomer. My fave film "Hoodlum"
Mine is Nashville
That was great, well done everyone 👍👍👍 slip catching masterclass
My favourite film is either of the Mama Mia films, thank you for your coverage this season!
As a rule of thumb can we have the slips in frame of possible more often? Great video though, as usual!
'7:08' 'Variation on the nurdle' Lovely turn of phrase.
Great bowling and catching well done
Congratulations Sanderstead 2's!
14:30 'he has one ball to face, what will he do... typical!' The words ooze irony.
definitely a few 2's players that could push for 1's selection. pinky looks like he'd fit in well with the 1's
I’m a generic man. My favourite movies are all 3 back to the future movies. Idk what it is but I can watch them 1000 times and still love it
What a good game and congradulations on ur excellent win and I hope you enjoy the Pilgrims. One question how many sixes can a batsman's hit before you run out of balls cos there must be a few that stay hidden.
Looking forward to the next game & another thank-you to the cameraman who does an excellent job. As for films & favourite I reckon The Green Mile was pretty good.
Never seen the Green Mile - must change that! Surprisingly we don't lose too many balls, even though a lot go in, or over, the hedges.
Well played and congratulations on your League win.
Thanks
My fave film is Legend by Tom Hardy ... wonderful display of acting portraying the Kray twins
Haven’t seen it - will do now
18:10 Is that Mr T spectating from the third man boundary?
andy moore I think it was! But unlike Mr T he wasn’t so quiet!
Well done Sanderstead Seconds...and yes I agree the gap between Seconds and Firsts does seem far less. Airplane...every time you watch it you see or hear a gag you missed last time round...Get the clearance Clarence...Roger Roger...
Do you like gladiator movies? Ever seen a grown man naked etc etc. Love it, but not my favourite.
@@SandersteadCCTV So it's not the right day to give up on the Pilgrim? Perhaps just as well!
Great display well done boys... 👍
Good watching Cheers lads from town malling cc
Fabulous effort boys and many congratulations
thanks
comprehensive victory
7:38 DA had commented on the lack of a fine leg earlier, one should always listen to the venerable observations of an expert commentator.
Fantastic win bowling and fielding brilliant well played. Movie The great escape
I love the Great Escape and it would certainly feature in my top ten!
Great result and champs to boot
You should definitely think about filming both the 1st and 2nds every week next year! Hopefully get another camera and get on it! Great work and enjoyed that 👍 congratulations lads 👍
Would love to - it’s a person we need, another camera is the easy part!
@@SandersteadCCTV And scorers, umpires, tea 'persons' etc etc
Congratulations on winning the league and thank you for the entertainment.
I got two questions:
1. Does anything happen if you finish top (quarter-final, semi-finals etc)
2. What happened to the gun shots today Dan 🤣
Momin Hussain nothing happens, that’s it sadly - would have been good to have a play off against someone. I felt the gunshots were right for the Monday LMS match but not for a “proper” game
Really sad to hear there is no playoff the 2nd XI really do deserve some more matches
Harris wins the league with a cacth? lol 26:00
Great play and well done! One can see the tremendous improvement all round in the team!
Anglo Saxon definitely!
Congratulations Sanderstead!
Thanks
Well done brilliant performance🏏👍😁🍺🍺🍺
What a team🤩, unreal performance, would give the 1s a good run for their money
What did u think when u saw their opener bowler had a Jimmy Anderson action
To be honest, I didn’t notice until someone mentioned after seeing the video. It is very similar to Jimmy
I dont ever have to get Sky to watch cricket when I got Sanderstead CC TV :)
Quite right - and its free!
Well played lads
Well done the 2’s but when do we get the footage of the carnage that ensued?
F Man what happens at the Old Saw Mill stays at the Old Saw Mill - but at least everyone kept their clothes on!
@@SandersteadCCTV And why not! On a serious note Vettori might be rubbish in a boat race but his bowling seems to have improved significantly.
my fav movie of all time is those magnifercent men in their flying machines
Great movie - you should like Monte Carlo or Bust, too then. Same film but cars instead of planes!
Matt Harris is my favourite player
Thanks mate 🙌🏽
Favourite film has to be Twelve Angry Men. Directed by the genius that was Sidney Lumet, who was on the top of his game here.
Sootycork one of my favourites for sure! I remember seeing it first when I was about 14 - blown away, and it may have been my favourite for a while. However, it is now Nashville (Robert Altman)
25:30 Yes, to compliment the campaign against LBW appeals from fielders square of the wicket the campaign for appropriate dress on the field should be implemented... this should include banning the wearing of 'trainers' (plimsolls as they were referred to in my day).
andy moore yes! And non-white socks, and those awful “base layers” (more like a long sleeved nylon vest!). And caps worn backwards!
Congrats to your 2nd XI for the win. So is it normal that you don't play any type of finals?
Also, my favourite film is a toss up between The Sting and The Great Escape.
Great films - love them both
I had no idea that Barney (from The Simpsons) was a member at Sanderstead!
(Oh, and fwiw, The Life of Brian.)
Brian is the best comedy! I don't know Simpsons, so who do you think is Barney?
27:08 shocking timing 😉

Film(s) are Spy Game and Seven, as regards cricket 2nds for me much more intelligent bowling, Well played and here to next season
G’day guys, could someone please ask Owen Rees if he has any relatives in Australia/Tasmania.
Love the commentary. Cheers from Kettering Tasmania.👍
G’day - I’ll ask him when I next see him.it’s a common name here, though, so I would doubt he’s a tazzie
